There are 2 main branches of Astrology: Western and Vedic/Jyotish. Western Astrology uses the Tropical Zodiac, which is based on seasons. The Sun is at Aries Point always on March 20th. If you want more information, google Tropical Zodiac.
Vedic Astrology uses the Sidereal Zodiac. It accounts for the precession of the equinoxes (which is the "bump" that everyone's freaking out about currently, but this is OLD NEWS). Which is why when you use the sidereal zodiac on astro, all your signs are different. For more information, google Sidereal Zodiac.
This "news" or whatever about how everyone's signs are DIFFERENT is false. A bad journalist who knows nothing of astrology has mixed up zodiacs. The GALACTIC ZODIAC has 13 signs, all of varying degrees. In the Tropical and Sidereal Zodiacs, each sign is made up of 30 degrees. That isn't so with the Galactic Zodiac. To my knowledge there isn't a branch of astrology that uses the actual galactic zodiac.
Can we be done with this, please?
