I've been looking up career choices all morning. Got nowhere and I'm frustrated. I know that the midheaven is supposed to tell about career. If you have this placement, what did you end up doing? And does anyone else have their north node, moon, or ceres conjunct midheaven? How does this effect you?

look at the ruler of your MC - Neptune.what sign is it in. what house is it in. what aspects does it make. what houses are those planets in taht aspect it? my MC is in Aries, it represents my desire to BE. my ruler of that, Mars, is in virgo. virgo as a sign should not specifically say i want to of service, thats the typical narrow minded approach to astrology. no one planet or sign is specific to do one thing. what they are specific to sticking to is themes and energies, that relate back to it. virgo themes besides health adn service would include intellectualism, problem solving, managing, organization, efficiency, logic, etc etc. what we also must consider is that in my case, this means tahts how my MC ruler Mars, DOES. not necessarily WHAT i will do for carreer, but HOW i do it as well. in virgo ways is how i approach what ever carreer intersts me. of course that will mold the carreer interests to a degree. in my opinion, its the house that has as much if not more influence that determines what that planet in our chart wants to do, or atleast what it feels happiest in doing when doing it. my Mars is in the 2nd house, i have a desire and liking for possesions, money, business. this backs up my desire that in my carreer, i don't just simply want to "earn" money, i want to "make it". property, business, all is appealing to me. thats my mars in the 2nd house. i love monopoly now.. aspects wise.. my mars sextiles Pluto tightly which is in the 4th house. emotions are psychologically undestandable to me naturally, its a language i understand. its also an interest, psychology. pluto also backs up my interest and enjoyment of investigation (along with virgo for analyizing and understanding), investigation, understanding motives, looking into things. my mars trines neptune which is in the 5th house, this perhaps backs up my desire for creativity, i am into photography, and films, film making, i have interest in doing those, my neptune trine to my mars is the tightest aspect (1 orb). this is biased energy to my chart since i am a leo asc & sun, with uranus trine sun, and uranus and neptune in the 5th with saturn in the 5th - lots of creative energy. aries moon in the 9th backs this. iv had interest in counselling and therapy, this perhaps is backed up by the neptune - to mars in virgo aspect- service, compassion.
lastly, my mars trines saturn, backs up an interest in business, but organizations like military. establishments. we should also consider aspects to our MC, my MC trines my sun, this backs up the creativity area and probably my desire for film making.
so what you want to do is - translate and udneerstand what your mc energies are interactiving iwth in your chart. and its ruler amd houses.
you should consider what INTERESTS YOU the most, interest is key, so is enjoying it. don't choose carreer on the most practical choice, you will want to change carreer eventually if you do and fall for something that really itnerests you taht you WANT to do. go with what you feel taht appeals to You and your soul, not any practical logical thinking too much.

FOR letramRetrograde Neptune in Capricorn (9 degrees) in the 6th house. Aspects: quincunx mercury in gemini (11 degrees) 12th house semisquare mars in aquarius (23 degrees) 8th house trine jupiter in taurus (14 degrees) 11th house conjunct saturn in capricorn (1 degree) retrograde, 6th house conjunct uranus in capricorn (0 degrees) retrograde, 6th house sextile pluto in scorpio (10 degrees) retrograde, 5th house quintile north node in pisces (21 degrees) 9th house opposition ascendant in cancer (14 degrees) There are also a few aspects with asteroids too. Not sure if you meant for me to post all that but just in case. I'm envious of your mars aspects amoung other things you mentioned! Most of my mars aspects aren't very good, haha. We have a few similar interests. I love photography and have seriously considered pursuing it as a career... but I know it's not in demand and I definitely want to have a decent income. Gotta have that financial stablility. Plus... there are much better photographers than myself. And many of them. I'm not good with competition or criticism. Too sensitive...thanks to pisces moon. Counseling and therapy were considered too. I'd want to care for the sexually abused more than anything. I gave up on going for that too. A lot of self-doubt. I have sun sextile MC as well... nearly the only postive aspect to it. Theres always hope though, right? haha Thank you very much for the quick response!

yes, your cancer asc/cappy dsc wants peace of mind, security.it wants to pick something practical and assuring of income. it doesnt promote desire for risk taking. which is okay, but bare in mind if you pick a carrer you "think you;ll be good at" for the peace of mind of more chance of earning higher income. you will more likely sacrifice important carreer elements such as Interest, enjoyment, and being passionate about your work. passion is key, passionate interest, or desire, or joy. i made this mistake myself in college, i was told i was better at photoshop and webdesign, and i agreed, i thought i should go with that because i'd do better. but you know what? i had no interest in waht i was learning, or passion, or much joy. and any faith in doing well at it was quickly outweighed by the lack of interest and joy, and desire. and in the end, i ended up with the same result i feared getting at something i wanted to do. - i didn't get good grades. i was too scared to pick film making because i thought its too competitive and not an assuring choice to get income. but its passion, interest and enjoyment of what you are doing, that drive you to success. and as my good friend put it - its better to regret something you did than regret something you didn't do. later down the line, will you wonder waht you couldve acheived if you did what you really wanted to do or be? thats just me, and my experience and what iv learned from.
everyone is different, but its just something to consider, goodluck! IP: Logged |

Hey Nervous,I actually have a Pisces MC...and let me tell you I have no idea what I want to be lol. I will say that in general I chose what was the most practical thing to go in. When I first went to college I got into psychology because it was the easiest way for me to get into med school. And I found the concepts not me. I'm the type of learner where you give me something to do and I can do it. But I can't explain why I can do it (which is why explaining things sucks...I can do them just not comprehend them). But I guess thinking non linear is tough for me. Anyway I got my undergrad in Psychology with a minor in Finance and I'm currently getting my masters in Psychology as well. But with a specialization in Human Factors and Ergonomics. Basically it was the easiest way for me to go into engineering without actually going back for an undergrad degree in that (ergonomics is actually industrial engineering). So I guess you could say that the Cap side of me is being acted out by this. My Neptune is in Cap in the 6th house, Plus my Moon is in Cap, and DC is in Cap. So I think that it points to a pretty practical thinker lol. IP: Logged |

pisces midheavan is tough, trust me, mines in aquarius pisces intercepted in the 10th, your going to be aimless fo ra while, until you can figure out how to unite the two opposing forces within you, in the meantime you can find a job in the service industry doing your sixth house stuff and learn about how you feel or retain money in the 2nd house.IP: Logged |

I have a Pisces MC pretty important aspects: neptune sag quindecile jupiter taurus(165) Neptune square MC Neptune quindecile Ascendant gemini 29' (165) Jupiter quintile MC No, I have no idea of what I should be doing for a career. I've been through so many ideas, but none seem to stick. Over the last 5 years I've wanted to be an artist in many ways and that's what I've been pursuing with great enthusiasm. Before that it was things pertaining to health(psychology, veterinarian, nutritionist) IP: Logged |

wow...I said once that I would become an "X" when I was very young.. I was asked "Why?" - and my answer was: "Because I want to help people!" LOL (how piscean). I obviously had no clue what it meant then.. and I had a dreamy/hollywood version of "X" in mind. But later at around 14, in high school I went back to thinking I would like to work as an "X". It has not changed since then. I finished my degree in "Things needed in order to practice X" and am now doing a PhD and working part time in "X". My MC is Pisces - I had no confusion regarding this at all. -- Although I'm sure what I just typed here, is confusing in itself and very symbolic of my MC (+ Merc + Jup in Pisces). IP: Logged |

I am also a MC in Pisces, trine Sun Venus & Pluto, and Sextile Saturn.I can tell you of what I have learned, that Pisces MC people tend to have career aspirations of some kind of "Let's Save the World" mood. Indeed when I finished Highschool I had some kind of that Save-The-World feeling for what I wanted to choose to study in University. I ended up in "International Relations", but lately I understood that it was not because of my Pisces MC, but because my 2nd house Jupiter in Leo Trine 6th House Mercury in Sag which provides strong skills with languages, geography, etc... And as you can see, my Jupiter & Mercury both are in earth houses (2nd & 6th) so you probably should see also what signs are in the cusp of those houses in your chart, or what planets fall in those houses. I've also read that Pisces MC gives some tendency to work in some kind of religious or spiritual stuff as well. IP: Logged | |
