About him being a Varuna person is very accurate.His sense of justice and judgment makes him lose many of his friends when he calls out any behavior he finds to be an injustice.

You must look at the blend of his chart. Even though he may have a Venus in Aquarius and a Moon in Gemini...he is has 3 personal planets in Water...one being a Pisces Sun.
And his planets are placed mostly in receptive houses as well.
So you may notice that the Venus and Moon are what he uses to balance out his energy which as a whole tends to be receptive.
So maybe its not that he is trying to be anything...maybe he just is that way.
Energy is just Energy til we asign duality to it making either macho or girly.

Behind closed doors his emotional life would have signs of detachment with an emphasis on communication of feelings at the same time...and the Venus in Aquarius will give him a good does of independence in love as well as an interest in dating a variety of people...that doesnt mean he will not feel the depth of his emotions when they are there...and that Moon in Gemini gives him the distinct ability to communicate it...and that Moon conjunct the Ascendent alone is enough to make him come off as a softy by societys standards...but with his NN there it is part of his path.
So I dont think its right to allow him to feel embarrassed...if more people had frequent outburst more often there would be less chaos in this world because there would be no need to play games. We would know where people stand.

Overall a very nice Energy he is...its very mulitfaceted making him intersting...but I guess what people term as "clinginess" is not aways thought of as such by me. But I have a Venus in Pisces...so Im a sucker for love in all its manifesting forms...higher or lower.
