 I'm trying (again) to learn read Solar Return charts--help! What do you see in this one? What do critical degrees mean in a Solar Return chart? Is the year's emphasis the house that the Sun falls into, or the house that the Solar Return chart ruler falls into? How do you read other planets, like Moon or Mars? In this chart, what does the Jupiter-Saturn opposition mean? IP: Logged |

I came across an interesting site yesterday whilst reading up on the Solar Return for Robert Blashke who recently died. I’ve only briefly looked at the site as time is not on my side at the moment but I did bookmark it as it looked like it had lots of interesting info for reading solar returns. Thanks, Anglerfish!Could anyone help with specific interpretations of the chart above, answers to the questions, or details of Solar Return-reading tricks that you have found very accurate? I've been trying to learn to read them for years. Obviously I've googled around a lot. But faced with my Solar Return chart, I still have no idea how to interpret it beyond the very, very vague (like the year will be "social.") It's hard to see a full picture or to tell if I'm being accurate. IP: Logged |

For example, in the chart above, would the emphasis be on 1st house issues because of the massive 1st house stellium? (although it passes into the 12th house if you use Placidus or Koch)....or would the emphasis be on 11th house issues, because that is the house the Sun falls into? Or would it be wherever the Solar Return chart ruler (Venus) falls...which changes based on the house system? OR would it be where the Solar Return ascendent falls in the natal chart? Which also changes based on the house system?My assumption is that it's actually all of the above, and you have to interpret the full chart in a complex way. How could I actually use that particular chart to look at big events and themes in the year? Or to improve my life? I've tried looking over past Solar Returns to connect them to events, and see if I can get better at reading them. But I just sort of can't see a Big Picture, the way I can with someone's natal chart, or looking at transits. IP: Logged |

So, Nine, presuming the chart has kicked off--WHAT exactly kicks off? In the chart above, for example: -would I be likely to find love that year, or remain miserably celibate and unloved?
-what kinds of career issues might arise?
-what would my creative life be like? I feel like I can't really find anything in there. IP: Logged |

A year there you have many secrets. Strong secret of love to someone special. Does you love someone who are married? DW of pluto in house 12. Karmic year and a year there you will leave old bad which not are good for you. I dont know if you are in an relationship. Have you plan to leave it? The whole SR looks like love secret and on the same moment I also see break off. Just because DW of pluto and house 12 and SR venus/mars conj your N pluto. your SR AC/DC ruler are venus and mars.Your N house 5 ruler venus and merk are both in your SR house 12.
I think this year will be strong change in your lovelife in some way. I think it's not will be easy but you will growth by your self. You will come out as an more stronger woman. You will know what really love is. Love from an man who not want to hurt you.

Thank you, Popcorn!!The break-up already happened at the end of September, things ended with a man I really love. Not a secret thing. I took the ending VERY hard, harder than I've taken anyhing before. Part of why it ended was that it upset him that I was still so emotionally entangled with my ex...so some of the 12th house/karmic stuff may be about breaking those bonds. My views of love are certainly transforming. I hope I'll come out stronger instead of just sadder. I am not interested in anyone new yet. 8 months left till my next Solar Return. Everything you've said feels very, very accurate to the emotional quality of this SR year so far (August-January). IP: Logged |

I'm still having a lot of trouble reading SR charts...I'm looking back at a chart for a year when I fell madly in love (mutually)...and my SR AC was exactly conjunct my natal DC. I guess I can't really do anything to make my Solar Returns better (although some people travel.) I just HATE not having life be like that anymore, i hate not just always having a choice of several wonderful people who badly want to be with me. Maybe it's not about SRs, but about my progressed Sun, so I'm not a Leo anymore, no more romance. IP: Logged |
