I've looked at hundreds of synastry charts in the past 10 or so years, and the pattern that sticks out more to me than sun-moon connections are angle connections. Particularly an alignment of one person's AC/DC axis with the other person's AC/DC or IC/MC axis, but also personal planets (especially angle rulers) conjuncting the other person's angles. I see this way more than any consistent sun-moon interactions. The angles are like magnetic poles. And I've seen some relationships survive where the only significant thing is the angle alignment -- no classic sun/moon, Mars/Venus, etc.

I agree with this. I have had amazingly good synastry with someone and felt luke warm at best. I know a guy who has his Cancer Moon Conjuncting my Sun, Asc, and Mars. Plus his Sun/Mer/Venus in Pisces all Trine my Sun, Asc, and Mars. Plus a TON of other aspects with include my Moon Conjunct his NN, and we have opposite Moon's (which might be why I'd iffy with him)...the CafeAstrology Compatibility number rated us very high like +60 or something.

However I don't feel super intense towards him (in the beginning I did feel very much towards him, however him being an 11th house Moon...it went nowhere. And me being an 11th house Venus was ok when we just stayed friends). HOWEVER I have an Aqua ex who's Dsc in Cancer's ruler (the Moon) is Conjunct my IC. My Sun/Moon Midpoint is Conjunct his NN loosly. Plus my Dsc is conjunct his Venus, and Moon. His Moon ruler (his Moon in Virgo) Mercury in Pisces is touching my Asc/Sun/Mars and Conjunct my MC. His Dsc is conjunct my Sun and Mars, and our Moons are trine by sign and orb, and we complete an earth grand trine and water grand trine between each others chart. And he is someone I have yet to forget. And we were only involved a very short time...AND haven't spoken to since June. Realistically he won't even add me as a facebook friend now, but I admit if I knew he was fully with someone and super in love I think even at this point I'd still be hurt intensely. I'd hurt with the Pisces for like a second but not enough where I'd get so hurt I'd just cut him off. With the Pisces I'd act like I didn't care and switch off (a la IC Square Uranus, and Sun/Mars Uranus aspects), but I'd care inside. But with the Aqua I'd cut him off due to the extremeness of my Moon Square Pluto AND then act like I don't care.

i think i can agree about the angle rulers.

in our synastry,

we have DSC rulers conjunct 0-1 orb.

my MC ruler (mars) conjuncts her IC by 4 orb

her IC ruler (mercury) conjuncts my DSC

not sure if these count but -

her DSC ruler trines my ASC ruler (3 orb)

her MC ruler trines my MC Ruler (1 orb)

my IC ruler squares her DSC ruler.

her ASC & IC ruler (interestingly, asc ruler is moon, along with IC ruler mercury) midpoint between these two is conjunct my DSC

I completely agree with this. Only in my best friendships/physical partners (with little feelings/typical romance) are there these so called dreamy sun/moon and venus/mars contacts. However, in my most emotional/soul connection with someone, our MC/IC and ASC/DC axis' were lined up, as well as with the vertex/planets conjuncting various angles, but nothing else that embodied classical synastry contacts. I've never had a friendship with that combination that was just a simple friendship, although I've had mars/venus and sun/moon conjunctions with plenty of my male friends and it was just totally platonic central.

I think they're valid there's just an extra dynamic at work..

I would agree that they are valid and not less potent.
My moon in Gemini on 28 degree is conjuct my loved one's sun and venus in Cancer (also a conjunction at 3 degree) and I absolutely feel it, especially the moon/venus aspect.

Also in my perception of my moon I would say I can't identify fully with the Gemini description, though it's lively and communicative - but it doesn't have the rationality at all.

I have a Sun/ Moon conjunction with my best friend as well, an exact one, in Gemini.
Strangley I have the feeling that her sun is leaning into cancer as well.

I think there is transition at the end of each sign towards the next that has aspects of both signs.
The sky has no borders, there are just forces and energies that combine in different manners.

My longest relationship;

1. Moon square moon
2. Sun square sun(although the signs were compatable)
3. Sun opposite moon

We both have sun square moon natally.

Although we broke up, we did have a good relationship overall and he is still one of my best friends now. The love just died and we wanted different things.

Pls dont quote my post might edit later
