Does anyone remember the story of Sybil Dorsett?
She was the first person to ever be diagnosed with multiple personality disorder.
I thought it would be interesting to study her chart, but I am having trouble making one, because her birth certificate has her birthtown listed as Dodge City Center, in Minnesota, and Astro.com does not recognize this town.
Hmm, never had this happen before, not sure what to do...

Her real name is Shirly Ardell Mason. http://connect.in.com/shirley-ardell-mason/images-marillamason-1-327312415715.html

I used my Solar Fire astrology software.

I am looking at her chart.

I am well aware that people with multiple personality disorder have a history of profound trauma.

Therefore, I checked to see if her chart has strong personal hard aspects involving transneptunian dwarf planets/candidates with their being associated with evolutionary intensification.

I mentioned before that

"as a transneptunian dwarf planet, it is involved in evolutionary intensified lessons and experiences.
Evolutionary suggests that emotional and spiritual crisis induced by the presence and passage of these bodies intends to enhance the insight, inspiration, creativity and consciousness of a person on Earth and through events on Earth containing these bodies in significant locations.":

It means that this energy involves lessons, experiences that can really make or break you. The hard aspects tend to indicate the possibility of experiencing some type of trauma which may be trying to the spirit but can eventually help you to grow spiritually. What doesn't kill you can make you stronger is something that can be applied the transneptunian dwarf planets, transneptunian dwarf planet candidates.
It's a highly metaphysical energy that involves insight, inspiration, and creativity that should be use not just for your benefit but for the benefit of others. These energies are about about going well beyond yourself and tapping into that mass consciousness.
There is a potential to really make a mark on the world and effect people on a grand scale.

I am finding that's the case with her chart, and I will go post my findings after I am done examining her chart. I should be done within an hour.

Sun in 4'23 Aquarius
quincunx Quaoar in 5'08 Virgo R - '45
sesquiquadrate Ixion in 19'23 Virgo R - '00
sesquiquadrate Makemake in 18'57 Gemini R - '25
semisquare Varuna in 20'05 Pisces - '42
Ego/self expression/vitality involve creativity, inspiration (Quaoar), karma/2nd chances (Ixion), creativity/fertility (Makemake), cosmic order/judgment/justice (Varuna) as well as evolutionary intensification
a 24th harmonic configuration

which includes:

She had a generational transneptunian dwarf planet candidate t-square of Makemake (creativity, fertility) square the opposition of Ixion (karma/2nd chances) and Varuna (cosmic order/judgment/justice),and it was personalized with the Sun aspecting it for an 8th harmonic configuration.

Her Sun sesquiquadrates both her Ixion and Makemake to form an 8th harmonic isosceles triangle configuration called "Thor's Hammer" and oppose the Ixion/Makemake midpoint

" Thor’s Hammer

Thor’s Hammer is an aspect pattern consisting of a square (90 degrees) and two sesiquadrate (135 degrees) interconnecting aspects.

It is part of the dynamic series of aspects that are based on the 8th harmonic (45 degree) aspect series.

This is a particularly difficult pattern as the sesiquadrate aspect tends to give quite severe criticism from others and this produces considerable personal tension. To work at its best it needs at least one planet in the pattern to have an outlet i.e. an easy flow aspect to another planet or planetary pattern. The outlet planet can describe people who help and/or a talent or ability that eases the pressure."

Venus in 17'59 Sagittarius
oppose Makemake in 18'57 Gemini R
square Ixion in 19'23 Virgo R
square Varuna in 20'05 Pisces
love/relationships/values (Venus) involve creativity/fertility (Makemake) ,karma/2nd chances (Ixion), cosmic order/justice/judgment (Varuna) as well as evolutionary intensification
She has a grand cross - 2 objects [Venus,Makemake] that are in opposition square 2 objects [Ixion,Varuna) that are in opposition
and so there is great stress, tension, conflict, but can be very productive

There is an outlet to release the tension of the t-square
her Venus trines Neptune in 17'09 Sagittarius R

She actually has Venus,Neptune,Makemake in Point of Thales configuration
This planetary pattern consists of an opposition with a trine and sextile from another planet.
In astrology this is an excellent configuration for the following reasons:

The opposition (180 degrees) can indicate tension with another, usually your marriage or business partner, sometimes a consultant or counselor, sometimes a rival; in fact anyone with whom you have a one to one focus. The aim is learn to negotiate with this person so as to be able to associate in a co-operative and mutually beneficial way. However the tensions generated by the opposition can make this quite difficult.

A trine (120 degrees) is an energy that is easy flowing and usually very harmonious. In relation to an opposition it can describe an inherent talent or ability that enables you to sort out the tensions engendered by the opposition and turn them into assets.

The sextile (60 degrees) is an aspect that gives skill in communication and networking. In relation to an opposition it gives the ability to explain what causes tension and discuss ways to resolve problems.

The planet that is the focus of the sextile and trine is the Point of Thales planet. It is a great asset in enabling you to use your opposition in a balanced, co-operative way that benefits all parties.

Therefore the Point of Thales pattern in astrology can describe an excellent negotiator, or someone who is able to solve disputes and disagreements harmoniously. http://aliceportman.com/?p=986

Moon in 6'39 Taurus
conjunct Orcus in 9'05 Taurus
emotional nature/feelings/instincts (Moon) involve oaths/promises/evolutionary intensification (Orcus)

Midheaven/Imum Coeli in 14'34 Virgo/Pisces
quincunx/semisextile Sedna in 13'56 Aries
aim in life/career/domestic environment/roots (Midheaven/Imum Coeli) involve environmental awareness/caretaking for humanity/victimization/evolutionary intensification (Sedna)

I also checked the transneptunian dwarf planet/candidate nodes

Sun in 4'23 Aquarius
square Heliocentric Eris Nodes in 4'39 Taurus/Scorpio
square Geocentric North Eris Node in 4'01 Taurus
ego/self expression/vitality involve collective equality/diversity/discord/evolutionary intensification (Eris Nodes)

Moon in 6'39 Taurus
oppose Geocentric South Eris Node in 6'05 Scorpio
trine Geocentric South Varuna Node in 6'47 Capricorn
emotional nature/feelings/instincts involve past collective equality/diversity/discord (Geocentric South Eris Node) and past collective cosmic order/judgment/justice (Varuna Geocentric South Varuna Node) as well as evolutionary intensification

Venus in 18'00 Sagittarius
conjunct Geocentric South Makemake Node in 19'14 Sagittarius
oppose Geocentric North Makemake Node in 17'24 Gemini
oppose/conjunct Heliocentric Makemake Nodes in 18'24 Gemini/Sagittarius
love/relationships/values involve collective creativity/fertility/evolutionary intensification (Makemake Nodes)

With her strong personal connections to the Eris Nodes and Makemake Nodes, she had a strong potential to be a public figure that involve collective equality/discord/controversy (Eris Nodes) and collective creativity/fertility (Makemake Nodes) as well as collective evolutionary intensification
Because these involve hard aspects, they could indicate the possibility of experiencing some type of trauma which may be trying to the spirit but can eventually help her to grow spiritually
She already has her Sun,Moon, and Venus in hard aspects to transneptunian dwarf planet/candidates that indicate that possibility

She also had numerous transneptunian/dwarf planet/candidates in the water houses which are about emotional/psychic matters

She had Varuna (cosmic order/judgment/justice),Eris (equality/diversity/discord),and Sedna (environmental awareness/caretaking for humanity/victimization) and overall intensification in 4th house (domestic environment/roots).
She had Pluto (intensity/transformation/regeneration) and Haumea (fertility/creativity) and overall evolutionary intensification in 8th house (sex/death).
She had a total of 5 planets in the water houses, and so the emotional/psychic areas in her life were ultra evolutionary intensified.

the transneptunian dwarf planet/candididate nodes were calculated here http://www.true-node.com/eph1/

Wow, everything you said is just the way her life played out, basically.

You said she had the potential to be a public figure... what's sort of ironic about that is that she died a recluse, BUT her life story made a huge impact on the world. I mean because of HER, they added this disorder to the DSM.

Great info, thank you.

I was thinking about her mother.
I am rewatching the movie again, it's on Lifetime movie network tonight.
Anyway, I wanted to see what HER chart would look like since she was really the start of the whole problem with Sybil.

I am researching for her birthdata.
She had Sybil in the 20's, so she was probably born in the 1890's.
She was mute and bedridden for years after the depression, while Sybil was still a little girl.
She was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at The Mayo Center, but never treated because of financial and religious conflicts.
Really, it's a fascinating family study all the way around, even the Dad.
