I'm glad that you asked that.
Because 3 years ago my mom had a psychic party, and the guy told me that my first job to pay the bills would be art teacher(I can see that) And that my ultimate career would be writer,(w/ the highest finance card) he did say something about kids books. That is just hard for me to see though.

I mean yeah not all psychics are the real deal. But he was right about me graduating high school. At the time it was hard to tell since I failed a math class again.
And at the time I had no idea what I wanted to do for a living.

Right now I work as a preschool aid. And I am the one that helps them with their finger paintings and such. (maybe this is what the psychic dude meant or the start.) I don't really pay the bills yet I am starting to give my folks a lil bit of money for my car and phone. (I'm a tad spoiled I guess)

But I still can't see me doing the writing thing. It sounds like a really cool and fun job...but I just don't see it.People that know me will tell me I'm persuasive though. I can talk on the phone a long time, and I do like to journal once in a while to vent, sort things out, and get to know myself better.

I think there are a few asteroids that have to do with writing... (I took some notes on their meaning a while back I got my info web surfing of course)

Melpomene:
Acting, singing, psychotherapist, social worker, HORROR THRILLER AUTHOR, tragedy actress. The name Melpomene in mythology is one of the Muses, and wares the tragedy mask.
Clio:
Historian, teacher, HISTORICAL NOVELIST, Muse of history.
Calliope:
Journalism, technical writing, documentary, research, astrology, artist painter. Muse of heroic poetry.

I'll post more later, but if my research is right, I think that those asteroids would be some good clues maybe. But I don't know how to interpret charts yet. (maybe someday though)

I'm not a writer per-se, but I've always been good at writing, and now have gone back to school to major in English.

My chart ruler is Mercury, and I have Mercury on my Midheaven as well. My Sun is in my 9th, and my natal Mercury is in my 8th house. My 3rd house is Scorpio/Sagittarius.

Don't know if these are "classic" indicators or not though...

different indicators for different types

but usually you would see gem/vir or merc on the mc for a career of it as well as strong 3/6/9 house action

5th house rules creativity, so merc, moon, nep here would help

This is an interesting thread. Writing has always come naturally to me, and people have always told me I'm a great story teller. I've decided to major in creative/screen writing about a month ago.

Mercury is my chart ruler, and it's in my 8th house Taurus, and my Sun is also in Taurus on the cusp of the 8th and 9th. My IC in my 3rd house is in Sagittarius.. I wonder what many great authors have in common astrologically.

I know F. Scott Fitzgerald had his moon in the 3rd in Taurus, which explains the rich emotional context of his writing, and how it revealed so much of his psychological character more than most other authors. Uranus in Scorpio is sort of near his midheaven.. and he had a grand trine in air (NN, Neptune and Mercury)

JFK,

Sounds like we have very similar charts!! And we're both into writing, so I guess that creates some sort of astrological pattern, doesn't it? My Sun and Mercury are also in Taurus. Mercury being in the 8th and Sun in the 9th... my IC is Saggitarius. What's your AC? Mine is Virgo and my MC, of course, is Gemini- so that's double Mercury...

Very interesting stuff!

Ethereal, whoa! We have such similar charts! My AC is in Virgo as well And apparently having a Gemini MC is a good indicator of writing. My Moon and NN are in the 5th as well.. no planets on any of my angles unfortunately. The closest would be my Mars in Pisces 6 degrees from my DC

Interesting thread!

What about screenwriting? What would be the planets/asteroids to look for?

Anyone who wants to be a writer can be a writer. Purify the soul, spirit, mind and body.....be committed to the five services - service to the divine, service to the self, service to the community, and service to the world, and service to the family...

Did Stephen King not almost fall into the cracks of oblivion when his father came and saw cocain baggies in the garbage, threw him into rehab, and then he wrote his first novel? His sister and mother too?

Who are we? Not seperate that is for sure.

Go now, all things are possible, you have been healed.

Well, anyone can write, but to be writer one needs more than desire.
Services??? Life is too good to serve...
Stephen King is such a prolific writer,I find it stiking.
Although,I don't know much about his writing style.
