I am sorry that I have a million questions! But, I was looking at this synastry chart, and even though the orbs may be a little wide, it looks like my North Node is conjunct his South Node, and his North Node is conjunct my South Node. Is this correct or am I wrong?

Well, it's out of sign...his nodal axis is Pisces-Virgo, yours Libra-Ariers. What's the degree of his NN and the degree of your NN?

YOu'll have NN-SN with everyone of a certain age gap. It's a lot less significant out of sign, because the signs are sooo important in characterizing your nodal journey.

Mine is at- 5°33'58"
His is at- 28°24'59"

Our age gap is kind of far, it is about ten years. If that matters.

Too wide for it to really matter imo

Yeah the last couple of guys I've been involved with I've had NN-SN with, because they are 8-9 years younger. I really noticed the flipped nodes a lot in both cases. In one case we had the flipped nodes in flipped houses (his Gemini NN in the 12th, my Pisces NN in the 12th) because our ASCs are conjunct.

A 7-degree orb out-of-sign would make this not very significant in your synastry with him, I think. You'll have more significant NN-SN conjunction dynamics with everyone in the entire world who's about a year older than he is.

i had flipped nodes with someone i was seeing last year and the orb was about four degs but we also had SN/moon (exact) and SN/saturn (2). deffffffffffinitely felt that one! very karmic relationship forsure. out of sign and with such a wide orb i would hardly count at all. within signs i would go up to maybe five degs but the challenges and needs of the nodes would still be the same no matter the orb, within the signs. closer orbs for karmic connections is what my gut/experience says.

Pixie, I use orbs very intuitively, varying them from not only chart to chart but aspect to aspect...it sort of depends on indications in the chart and how the whole chart works together, both in natals or synastry. For instance, if someone has Saturn as their natal chart ruler and twenty-gazillion Saturn aspects in their natal, they might feel someone's same-sign, wide-orbed conjunction to their Saturn in synastry more than someone with a weak natal Saturn.

Rather than using rules, I try to stick to the big picture--looking carefully at each natal, then imagining how those people would actually get along with each other. Some people use synastry as a sort of scoring system ("these are Soul Mate aspects" or "this proves the other person is attacted to me"), and it doesn't work that way.

I never use over a 10 degree orb, period. But the reason I think you won't feel flipped nodes with this person is that they're not only out of orb, but out of sign. So there's no real conjunction or opposition of nodal traits.
