Thread topic:

--- The impact that Media Messages (News, TV programs, Religious Programs, Films, Porn Magazines, Fashion Magazines, Newspapers etc.) have on the Pisces influenced child - teenager -young adult - adult - middle aged man - elderly man - in Western Society! ---

Please post whatever springs to mind on this matter.

This is only in reference to Pisces men and not to Pisces women... It is mainly about Pisces Sun/Moon (possibly AC) men.

But it can also be about other planets in Pisces, if it amounts to *enough* Pisces to really - show lol

I think it's less susceptibility to the content of the news or other things that come up in the media, and more susceptibility to the escapism of using the media.

The heavy Pisces/Neptune men I know will spend hours lost watching movings online, surfing the internet...listening to or playing music 24/7 (not saying that's a bad thing).

They engage with media in the same style that some use recreational drugs...they'll get lost in it.

In a nutshell... I am disappointed that people I see as intelligent can end up ruling their lives - not by their own spiritual standards - but by messages they have received from *elsewhere* (Media!) and that they believe to be gospel.

Sometimes this happens on a very subliminal level so they are not aware of it themselves.

You have to peel so many layers to get at the real issue with Pisces.

For instance..

HUGE Issue: Piscean celibacy.

I've seen this multiple times. The quest for complete and utter sexual purity.

Purported Reason: Love of all humanity, respect for women and themselves, emotional understanding, placing love above the physical.

REAL reason: The Pisces has received religious messages that women are the spawn of satan and put on this planet for the sole purpose of tempting poor, unsuspecting men into having sex with them - thereby sinning and ending up in hell.
muhahahahaha

But that is not the only example ^
Though it is a very common one.

Lucia - I missed your reply before.
I think it can also be escapism... But escapism can take so many forms.
One can escape to a pleasant world in their imagination (which they sometimes Pisces men do) -- or they can escape to a very dark world... or to a very complicated world...

It's just difficult to watch sometimes...

I have to shake my Cappy head and do my habitual "tsk tsk"

I think it happens for the same reason other pisceans can often look to religion or spiritual causes....Neptune is all about idealism. And what Lucia said earlier.

"Piscean celibacy"

I wish my Pisces could of been celibate. He was actually the opposite... he would get involved with anybody that would have him. But, I guess it doesn't matter what the action is... it's usually to some extreme when they act out.

My Dad has Pisces ASC. and the poor guy takes everything he reads on the internet seriously, he is also very gullible. I think he isn't able to handle his Piscean ASC. well.

Oh wait, I take back my original comment because I didn't read you right but I understand now what you mean. Its 'impressionability, which is also supposed to be a low cancerian trait. Neptune is foggy, so it makes those under its influence susceptible to everything. On the other end, it could make those with this influence very good at propoganda.

I'd say my Pisces fiance,is affected badly by most television programs, music and the news/newpapers.He is has a high sense of justice and a need for real equality among all things. He refuses to watch CNN because its biased to him..he doesn't read the newspaper because its all too sad.He doesn't like todays music because its so lazy etc..and most tv shows are lame to him, because they are too hyped.

He likes to drift away in his little dream land and listen to his prog rock music from the 60's/70's.Watch funny sitcoms like the office and Seinfeld. Not ever talk about the news or anything bad.I think we both enjoying our escape effect we have on each other.
