I was reading an article of vedic astrology about rising signs and it disturbed me deeply.
http://www.yournetastrologer.com/learn_astrology73.htm

I wonder if one with AC taurus can identify with what the reading says. from the perspective of vedic astrology my chart is just doomed given that jupiter and venus becomes functional malefics.

i would like to hear any real experience from people with this ascendant.

thanks

Vedic astrology tends to be a bit more fatalistic than western astrology.

That site is confusing, but then I am not skilled in Vedic astrology.

Somebody else should know.

I was sold on vedic astrology when I had a cookbook interpretation done on a site. Among other things it said "she is a chain smoker", and then hit me with "she will marry at 23".
So I thought that if a computer generated report can be that accurate, there may be a lot of truth to the fatalist approach versus the evolutionary one.

I would however interpret the general description of Taurus asc differently. It also says that Saturn becomes a benefic, and we don't know how they interpret transits anyway. From what I recall, all the planets are 23 degrees before their position in western, except the ascendant. An Aries usually becomes a Pisces, and so on.

I'll be back with the site that does full interps, hopefully I'll find it.

Found it http://www.indianastrology2000.com/astrology-reports/horoscope.php

Go to top left, "what's my moon sign", and complete the free registration. Once the profile is created, there should be a button on your profile that says moonsign/birtchart.

I think that the report was so accurate because of my stellium, but I definitely believe it's worth a shot no matter how your chart looks like.

I'm a strong taurus rising and it sounds quite a bit like me, though a bit simplistic at best.

Thanks Maira! I started a thread to talk about these reports (so this can stay a Taurus Rising thread):
