I think if I can find a way around this aspect, I think things would just be better for me... How can I overcome this?? I have Mars in Leo in H6 and Neptune in Sag in H9 I found a few definitions. http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/marsneptuneaspects.html http://www.skyscript.co.uk/marsaspects.html#masne I like this one the best http://www.astrologyindepth.com/Mars_square_Neptune Internally, mars/neptune can represent deep confusion about the native's own motivations. He is capable of devising schemes he forgot he made, or spiraling deeply into problems with his own self-assertion. The problem has to do with incompatible energetic levels between the two planets. A person without this aspect can have selfish motives, promote them a little bit and then either drop or revoke them. With Mars/Neptune, a little deception goes an extremely long way because its power is expanded and disseminated into the air like a magical solution, or a perfume, by Neptune; yet magnified by the martian expression of the native's deepest most primal desires. The native might find himself acting much more dishonestly than he intended ( and he truly did not intend to -- these natives rarely tell actual lies) or not acting at all on his strongest convictions because he is unsure of how to proceed or what he wants from the situation. He may not want anything from the situation but enjoy the fact that his magical ability to persuade people is getting results. ======================================== I do have alot of internal confusion.. I always feel as if Im standing at a crossroad and never knowing, which way to go... I stand there forever thinking what ever way I do go, will be the wrong way.. I feel that I always make the wrong decisions, for the wrong reasons.. How do I "know" what to do??? I will go back and fourth doing one thing, then doing the other, while trying to figure out whats right... I never ever ever find that answer.. Sometimes I just do nothing.. When I do make a decisions its seems to be wrong, and I always wonder what if I would have went the other way.. Does anyone else feel like this?? IP: Logged |

We know it's out of sign, so how wide is the orb, what houses do they rule, and what other aspects do either of them make?IP: Logged |

You're making me think of working on a creative project, when do you know it's finished? Cos you could always write more, or add more brush strokes, etc, so when is that final cut off point. The answer technically is that there isn't, you just have to say this is good how it is and move on.IP: Logged |

I have this aspect too. Mars in Pisces square Neptune in Sagg. Everything you've mentioned I've experienced as well. It's not as insistent or intense as a Pluto/Mars or Mars/Saturn type of energy that can feel overwhelming. Instead its like trying to navigate underwater with your eyes blindfolded...yet somehow having a feeling of knowing where to go. Even though at the same time your earthly "senses" are telling you NOT to trust these instincts, which only worsens the directionless feeling. Luckily I have Venus in Aries which trines Neptune. Overall I think this helps as Venus is a bit more cooperative than Mars at channeling the energy Neptune would like to give. IP: Logged |

I also have this aspect in my natal Aries Mars (conjunct IC) square Neptune (1st), and I came across the astrofix blog and the key pharses that really resonate with this Mars-Neptune aspect in my natal is: "A weak father. Feeling that the men in your life are unreliable, weak or simply not around. No strong men in your life. Confusion about masculinity. Disillusioned with men. Feeling let down by men. Disappointed by people’s actions. Feeling that nothing you do matters." http://astrofix.net/2010/11/06/marsneptune-aspects/ It doesn't help that Mars is trine Sun and sextile Jupiter, again refering to male-figures. Also natal Mars forms a T-Square between Neptune-Chiron and Mars on the IC. This suggests that I often feel wounded by men, but with a little assertivenss this can dissolve those feelings of inferiority. IP: Logged |

I technically have this aspect but its by a 7 degree orb so I never really counted it, considering I feel all the other malefic afflictions to my Mars more prominently (It forms a T-Square with Chiron, Saturn/Uranus). I think the only two planets that touch my mars without afflicting it are Jupiter and Sun (not sure that it matters anyways). I have to say I used to get along with guys better than girls before I started looking at them differently...actually on a fundamental level, I still do. Its just that when there's romance involved, everything eventually goes sour with them. IP: Logged |

vertiver- you are a genius. I could KISS you for that weak-men thing. I am a native of this aspect and that is definitely a theme in my chart, weak-men. Sadly my Mars doesn't have any beneficial aspects so I'm not quite sure how to deal with this aspect. I think there may be an illusion about men, in that they need to fit some sort of criteria to be dating acceptable. Even looking back on the "men" I've dated, the majority of them where/are boys to me. Frankly I don't know what the hell I was thinking, or wasn't thinking. Stupid hormones. Much of what was said I can agree with here; what Astrobelle said about navigating through water blindfolded and being told not to trust these instincts, as well as everything in the original post by Lioness. Many times I find myself lying in relationships to avoid hurting the other person which then of course it blows up in my face, but I'm like it says, I rarely tell lies, I've been told I am too honest. <<or not acting at all on his strongest convictions because he is unsure of how to proceed or what he wants from the situation.>> This is true as for me as well. I often feel stuck. I want to move but I don't know where to go and I'm unsure of where to go and my own self-assertion at times. At some point from being bottled up it spills out all at once and the other person looks at me like I have 10 heads. (But I don't!!!) Overall I guess this is why I feel so stuck all the time. I don't like it. My Neptune makes a few nice aspects, any advice on how to use it to channel the mars/neptune square?

Good to know I'm not the only one with this problem. I don't know about you but this aspect mostly relates to my father. Natal Mars is in the 3rd H conjunct the IC, my mom raised me and basically played the male/father role as well. My Dad on the other hand was always unavailable, either he was out in sea (very Neptunian job) or didn't give me any attention. It weird too because he has a Pisces ASC. Again Neptune... You'd think he would've been more nurturing, but then again he has Gemini Moon. In fact his Leo Mars is conjunct my Sun, not a very good placement for a parental relationship. I'm always arguing with him and there are power struggles abound... IP: Logged |

Same here. My dad was pretty much unavailable, wasn't around as much because of work and emotionally. He has said many times that he should have never had kids. My mom tried to control us growing up because she never had much support for my dad, I can sympathize more with my mom but I generally don't get along very well with either. Especially my dad and his 4 planets in taurus. I don't know what time he was born but he's so egoistical to such a fault that he doesn't realize his ego. He can't ever admit fault. This is so frustrating to me, I swear I feel like I want to wring his neck. IP: Logged |

I have always seen this sq as a winner; It works for me; gave me evadeness that isn't sneaky,dubious... That's why I find it successful, cuz my Aries Mars doesn't like dishonesty. But,I still have benefit of mystery. Subtleness. My Mars is on Dsc,so I attract strong men, either indeed plucky ones,or cowardish... Neptune gave smooth finishing to raw Mars' energy.IP: Logged |

I have it too , mars (in aries) squaring neptune ( in capricorn) mars ( afflicting moon, uranus ond ofc this neptune) on the cusp of second, and third house, neptune in the 1st. I can totally relate to what it's said since my father died since I was 1 year old and I live only with mom.. who took both of the responsabilities. No male presence..at least not a strong one..I feel totally confused about men.
