Just curious...most places where I have read atleast online say to compare the two venus signs others say comparing a womans venus sign and a mans mars sign is a good way to determine compatibility...or comparing both people's venus & mars signs. If that is the case, would a woman with a venus in scorpio/mars in aquarius be compatible with male whose venus is in aquarius/mars in pisces??IP: Logged |

It's better for there to be aspects between Mars/Venus vs Venus/Venus and Mars/Mars So there will be more attraction for example: Aqua Venus/Libra Mars is better for attraction than Aqua Venus/Libra Venus. _________________________________I have to mildy disagree. Yes, its true that Venus Mars connections are good but I have had too many experiences with Mars/Mars and Venus/Venus connectioins to dismiss them as not strong enough also. My sister and I have a venus /mars opposition in Aries and Libra respectively and living with her has its highs and lows. Mostly, I think she has got a bad temper. I reckon Venus/Mars connections can be regarded as more "steamy", which is why many people like it. I ,personally, don't like drama and so I've found that Venus/ Venus and Mars/Mars connections work best for me.

You gotta look at the overall picture. And I don't like subscribing to the WOMAN = VENUS, MAN = MARS crap because gender is a social construct. We all have masculine and feminine energy in our charts (and even if we are biologically women, we might have more masculine signs than feminine... what then?). Plus, what do you look for in gay people? It's a heteronormative concept. IP: Logged |

Venus-mars connections in synastry are one of the most overrated attraction myths ever. I have countless examples both from my own experience and that of friends where the most intense attractions had absolutely no venus-mars connections at all. It's the whole picture, not single aspectsIP: Logged |

I agree! More and more, I'm looking closely at each natal and then looking at symmetry between the natals, rather than looking much at synastry triggers at all...but, just in synastry, the strongest indicators of compatibility I've found are: -each person triggering/aspecting the other's chart ruler tightly -conjunctions between nodes and planets -conjunctions between angles and planets -angle-angle conjunctions Mars-Venus, nah. I disagree with there having to be Mars/Venus aspects. My love and I have absolutely no Mars/Venus, Venus/Venus or Mars/Mars aspects in our synastry chart, yet the attraction factor between us is stronger than any relationship I have had in the past. I believe that there are other aspects that can create just as intense or more intense attraction than Mars and Venus together.Lucia, how do you find out what your chart ruler is? IP: Logged |

(In case anyone else wants to know, chart ruler=ruler of the sign of your ascendent. So, for example, if you have Aries rising, Mars is your chart ruler.)IP: Logged |

The chart ruler is the ruler of your ASC. unless its heavily afficted... Moon-Mars aspects are similar to Venus-Mars aspects in synastry only, the Moon person tends to play a more nurturing role verses just a pleasing and charming role. Its intense with the guy I'm seeing my natal Mars in Aries is opposite his Libra Moon and his Mars is square my natal Moon, yet we don't seem to argue... And I usually always have a Venus-Mars connection in synastry, although I'm usually the Mars person. With this guy, His Aries Venus is conjunct my natal Mars on the IC, so that is a potent connection, since its a IC connection as well...

well said amowls**! That's something I've always struggled with, the definitions of mars as a male phenomenon, etc. etc.IP: Logged |
