as a cancer with sun trine pluto , pluto in the first, mercury conjunct jupiter, and sun and mercury in the 9th house...*phew that was a ::gasps for air:: .....mouthful!* I can say this talks about my two favorite things: Family and life lessons!

What are the signs in *your* family and what have YOU learned from them?

oh wow I've learned so much from my family. I absolutely love my family.

Virgo is a BIG one -- I have a lot of Virgo family members. I've learned to be analytical and never take anything at face value. It's important to investigate things before you make a decision or form an opinion.

Libra is another one -- Many family members close to me - have some Libra influence somewhere.. This is opposite my Aries Sun.
I have to say I've learned SOOOOO much from the Libra energy lol I've learned to compromise, to count to ten before I open my mouth in an argument - that everyone's views are significant and important and mean something - so I should never discard them purely because they may not agree with my own principles; that it is so important to be skeptical and really think about something when you first hear it - to think about WHO is saying it, what their motivations in saying it are and so forth (I guess this is also analytical, but more so from an airy perspective, rather than an earthy Virgonean perspective).

From my parents -- Leo and Aquarius respectively -- I've learned to have confidence in myself and my abilities and to appreciate friendship as a human bond that is just as important as love relationships and other connections.

Thanks for answering

I think in my family I have taught them more than they've taught me lol.

They are all crazy impulsive and insensitive people, so I am the harmonizer. My mom is taurus (but with an aries ruled name), my dad is aries and lil sis is a pisces (with an aries moon---she's definitely more of an aries!). My leo grandma is usually the one who is so sensitive and hurt by their behavior. Leo and cancer are both really sensitive. I am the only one who understands how to handle my grandma.

I taught them that bullying doesn't actually motivate people, taught them to think about people's psychology and try to understand them better, and that they don't actually know it all (they were quite arrogant before). Now they come to ME for advice! Lol.

As far as what I learned from them---it's that life takes work! Actual work. And intentions don't matter, work does! My parents taught me how to push myself and how to be more rational about things. I feel my mom should be more loving though. Even though she is very dedicated, she always seems emotionally disconnected---she doesn't show passions or vulnerability. My dad is kind of similar but he is even more distant, and is usually in a bad mood and he acts kinda antisocial. I think he is just really shy. My grandma taught me how to be optimistic---she stays happy even though life hasn't been the greatest for her. My little sister taught me how to be confident and act crazy even if it such crazy energetic behavior that people might think I'm annoying. I don't get along with her, though. Lol.

cool thread!

I came from a long line of Fire Signs
3 of my Grandparents and one parent..
and then my (d)evil Grandmother who was a Taurus (mine and my Mothers moon Sign)

from her , my Mother got the Moon/Uranus conjunction
(describes her Mother perfectly)
I got the square
(my mother had to work through her issues)
my girls got the trine
(broke that nasty trait/cycle)

from my dad, an easy trine from the Sun to the Asc.

one carried over aspect is the SN/4th house
my Mother's is conjunct Saturn
Mine is conjunct the Sun
My Son's is conjunct the Nadir and Venus

SN is Karmic no matter how you look at it and in the fourth House it shows heavy "family" Karma.

so true..

IDK what family is..

What I had to learn, is to not depend on anyone, that you have to do it all on your own... No one is going to help..
Learn to Survive or Die.

Always have a back up plan.

I learned independence...
