I have Sun in the 5th house and people always tell me that they understand what I'm going to say by just looking at my face. My facial expresions are very obvious and dramatic. I think it's because of my 5th house Sun.
I also have Uranus in the 5th house about 4 degrees apart from my Sun, and I like changing my physical appearence. I can't understand people wearing the same hairstyle for years. I like color and change and I like surprising people sometimes with the things I wear, and I like color.
Well I also have Saturn in the 5th house! I think Saturn is what is keeping me from looking too weird because of the Uranus effect, Saturn is trying to balance Uranus but it doesn't always succeed!  Which planets are in your 5th house and how do they effect the way you express yourself? I just talked about physical expression above,it's easier to understand since it's more graphic. IP: Logged |

I have Venus and Jupiter in the 5th and I tend to wear alot of dramatic colors. Not because I want to stand out, but because I just like colors. I didn't even realize it till someone pointed it out to me last fall. Before my hospital job, my hair was black on top and fire engine red. Then it was brown with highlights, and now its just black. I get bored with my appearance pretty easily, which has resulted in a couple of tattoos. Now Im trying to pierce my face to get over the boredom of my hair...haha. When I had the time, I used to creative write alot too (I still have the works saved on my computer)...my Venus is in Gemini. Alot of the stuff I write (and read) can get pretty angsty, and that may be 12th house influence. With Jupiter being Taurus, I just buy alot of things. Neptune in there trine the Mc
.

You may be right about the luminary but still it's the house of self expression, and I'm curious about the effects of the planets there, or if the 5th house is empty, how does it affect?
I didn't go into aspects and stuff to keep it simple. I can feel the three planets' effects very obviously in my 5th house. I wonder if it's just because my Sun is there...

My 5th house is empty.I have Pisces on the cusp and Neptune in the 12th.
I look at romance in a spiritual way in that I need a deep connection.
Creative things seem mystical to me ,too,in that you can enter the next dimension with things like music and poetry.------------------

Oooh! This is a very interesting thread.I have Uranus and Pluto in the 5th. They conjunct. They also trine the you-know-what out of the Sun, Jupiter, ASC, Mercury stellium in my chart. Definitely go for "unusual" guys. They need to have an extra *something*, or I have next to no attraction to them. Otherwise, found out I have a real natural talent for computers. I was a computer tech for 5 years, and I think it's the Uranus. Never had any problems fixing my own computers, and even built one myself. Right now, I'm doing a lot of creative writing. Coming up with little stories has always been easy for me. (Gemini Moon, but not in the 5th) Don't know if they're any good, but writing has been a fun hobby here that I only started up last year. No kids though, maybe because it's Virgo 5th house? IP: Logged |

I don't want to talk about my 5th house.. but you know my chart being shortly after yours but with leo asc.. I am one of the most expressive people I know and can never hide my feelings. Saturn missed my 5th however and I have nept/merc there.IP: Logged |

I mean plenty of planets/aspects can make someone expressive. heavy Jupiter influences tend to make people very goofy in the way that they express things...I've got no planets in the 5th H, and from experience the guys I've dated with 5th House planets always seem very conflicted when it comes to dating/ romance, it doesn't help that both these guys were Leo ASC. with Uranus, Saturn and Neptune in the 5th H. And Venus was opposite Neptune in the 11th H. Planets in the 1st H, seem to be the most obvious to other people, like Jupiter in the 1st H, makes someone very expressive and demonstrative or Mercury conjunct the ASC. makes someone very chatty and just plain silly in a cute way...

I agree that appearence is affected by the first house and above all the ascendant, aspects and the placement of the ascendant ruler. However since 5th house is the house of self expression , and clothing style is a way of expression I thought I could give examples from that regarding the 5th house, but I think you are right it gets confusing, I should have given example from the way one acts.
Maybe like Lonake said, I have Sun in the 5th house, that's why I'm more affected by the 5th house characterwise.

Astrologer Stephen Arroyo mentioned that planets in the 9th and especially in the 5th in trine to the Asc were as potent as planets in the 1st in terms of demeanor and how we come across.
