Hi all
How's it goin...

My question is, does your rising sign really affect your personality? I was born at 5:41pm so I apparently that makes me a Gemini rising, but everything I've read about it sounds nothing like me! I am not talkative- I'm the exact opposite actually.

What is your rising sign? And do you think you can kind of see it in your personality (or how others see you)?

It can, but there are so many aspects of a person in a chart. Sometimes they will contradict one another and others will be more noticeable than others. It really just depends I think.

My rising sign is obvious yes, but so are other signs as well. Hopefully, someone that can tell yu more about comes along.

yes...i'm a scorpio sun with gemini rising....i'm much more talkative than your average scorpio but not as talkative as a gemini sun...i dont consider myself talkative, but i do notice i talk more than other scorpios....but i also have a mercury singleton

Taurus rising, Mercury in Taurus and Jupiter in Taurus, too. Yup! Even though I'm Aries, I have so many Taurus "traits" that people after they get to know me ask if I'm a Taurus! Love to cook, garden, can sing... Yup! Pretty much Taurus...

curbro, my mercury is in Scorpio... as is my Venus. When I read about Scorpio, I constantly think "that sounds like me." lol! My sun sign is Sagittarius but I certainly don't act like one. I am the farthest thing from adventurous and open...

CosmicKarma, cooking and gardening- that sounds soo cute lol. I wish I could do that

I have a Taurus moon in the 11th house, and I don't know many of my aspects, only what astro.com has provided me with.. ( Moon Opposition Mercury 7°00 / Moon Opposition Jupiter 5°16 ) I'm still learning by the way

I am Scorpio ASC. I think my true self is NOT as talkative as I am.
I think some of my being talkative is fear that I won't be liked if I don't put on a dog and pony show lol
I learned to do this as a child, with my father.
I needed him to see me to make up for my mother being a few bricks short of a foundation.
I am MORE Scorpio than I realized.I know cuz Scorpio is starting to feel like home.It feels peaceful and true.
I have Pluto on an angle,though, the MC.That strengthen Scorpio.
I,also,have an 8th house stellium.

I'm a Sag rising. I didn't feel it for years, but always wondered why I was always so restless and easily bored, and clumsy! As a Libra sun, I think my sag rising is quite easy to come to terms with, except relationship-wise, I am always torn between staying and going.

I don't feel much of a strong identity with most of the things and concepts that fall under Capricorn. It may be a Sun thing or it could be more that its the role that has been enforced on me since birth, practically (my ascendant, that is). I'm pretty okay with it too, now that I think of it. I don't feel the need to integrate it into my true personality at all. Its only a mask to me.

Mine is Leo but no one who I've talked to about how I come across sees me as Leo, in person, at all.
Everyone who knows me describes me as my Sun/Moon combo or my Mercury. This goes too for acquaintances and classmates, people who hardly know me at all, they still see me the same as the others who are closer.
I also don't look like my rising, and it covers my entire 1st house. The only thing that makes sense is that I get called radiant fairly often, which is like the Sun, that's bout it. I've noticed this with other Leo risings, too, our faces are naturally bright.

Asc are very tricky

i'm a Sagittarius Ac, but also Sagittarius Sun and Venus and Neptune too. so i identify myself a lot with the "stereotype".

but then, my Ruler Jupiter is in Cancer. it makes me be very emotional too, which i have a hard time identifying with. i need to find the point of balance.

but hey Vetiver, i read in the other thread you like the 1920s. i have an obsession with the 20s too. that's interesting, i think it's a very Sagitarian era.

20's obsession here too.

Personally I think that I acted more so like my Aries rising when I was younger, and grew into my Sag sun as I aged.
