Oh it certainly does.....i had a great fall from grace at a densly populated state school....you could say....almost....that i was lost in them.

Or more sanely...that i lost myself.

your question 'what should i give up' makes me think of choices.
with chiron you have two choices (i feel)...choosing one you 'give up' the other
the choices are you're either going to feel all down on yourself, pity your life, feel hopeless or become more compassionate and reach out to others.
if you have a gemini chiron for example...communication problems are difficult for you...and you pick up and are more symphatetic to other's communicaiton struggles. you don't even have to do anything, just your sympathy with them can be healing.

i feel that by opening up to others, you won't have to make the decision on what to give up, the negative aspects will just disapear on their own...(but that's just my personal interpreation of chiron)...and also, by asking others i feel prevents you from learning the intended lesson...if you manage to aswer your question (on your own), you've somewhat conquered/overcome chiron..or a step closer

My Chiron is indeed in the 12th house, in Gemini and heavily aspected. I have no communication problems - no desire to give something in this particular area - no pains I can think of - nothing I have given up and nothing I think I *should* give up... and so forth.

They say the 12th house rules the subconscious... Well whatever this placement is connected to it must be so deeply buried in my subconscious - I genuinely have no clue how it affects me and no desire to find out lol

im not sure i relate to whats being said in here,

my chiron opposes neptune, squares my moon, sextiles my mars, trines my pluto.

hers aspects all her fire planets, hmm

opposite mars, trine sun, sextile jupiter.
