Can someone please educate me on retrogrades?

I have five in my natal:

Mercury in the 9th house in Pisces
Jupiter in the 1st house in Cancer
Uranus in the 3rd house in Virgo
Neptune in the 5th house in Scorpio
Pluto in the the 3rd house in Virgo

I've been reading up on it, but it's somewhat confusing. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I hate my Saturn retro. And my Neptune retro. It's so hard. I feel like I'm constantly struggling in my life and I have little rest. My Pluto and uranus retros are tolerable minus in relationships that's usually when my Pluto Rx comes out (in my 7th), but they flare up from time to time. But yeah... those Saturn and Neptune ones are probably some of my hardest placements. They are tightly conjunct too.

I actually think that my merc Retro is a good thing for me. I don't mind it so much even though it can be hard sometimes to communicate exactly as I want to.

About Retrograde planets:
I have seen, when they become Direct it happens something very important.

It happened to me and also to my ex friend: in my case about my transformation (R planet in the 1st became Direct) and about the right diagnosis, R planet, ruler of my 6th became Direct.

To him: when the ruler of his 5th (in 9th) became Direct, he found his great love in abroad. I told him that one year before; even if I wasn't sure it will happen. It happened.

I like astrological prediction and this one is the easiest from all predictions.

Yeah me too.. I've got Mercury rx; probably wouldn't be that bad 'cept it's also conj Saturn. It's like having so much to say.. but when you go and try to say it, it doesn't come out the way you want it to, or the words just escape your mouths, or in this case, fingers lol. Every thing gets jumbled often.

It's a pain in the a$$ everyday, especially in a forum-like setting where misunderstandings can happen so easily. It's easier when it's face to face, where people can see my facial expressions, hand gestures, body language, the tone of my voice etc. But.. in the end, I feel like I'm challenging myself every time I express my thoughts.. so it's a good thing, no matter how difficult it may be to put my thoughts together.

Now for penance we have to post something we like about our charts! Mine's Moon conj Venus.

OT, Erin Sullivan has a good book on retrogrades.

In general, the more Rx you have the less you seek outside approval. Renegades and they can bring a lot of new views into many areas of life. The energy turns inward so you get to put your own personal spin on it. It's kind of freeing once you get past the fact that it doesn't operate like the energy of others.

Lonake, I agree. It takes quite a lot, but once you understand them, they don't feel awful, just different.

I have Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto retro. Saturn and Pluto have been the toughest.

Can you elaborate more on how the outer planets feel being retrograde in the natal?
And especially Saturn, please.
I know quite a few people with Saturn retro, just don't know how it plays out.

Saturn rx can sometimes lend to father issues or problem with authority, sometimes inconsistency in the dynamic which can lead to a child feeling out of control, so the challenge is to find their own inner authority and conduct their life in terms of planning etc along those lines, they get to parent themselves in that way. What we know is that children need consistency growing up so that they learn to not take on so much and so that they can feel in control which is very important for their self esteem, they know what to expect day to day. So saturn rx needs to manage their time in a productive way, except the part that's up in the air (as its Rx) is that they get to choose how, since either the parent didn't model it or they didn't accept what the parents offered and chose to make their own way. So there can be a unique perspective on authority in other areas of life, they have to show that they can do their job before saturn rx will respect them, they have to live up to the Saturn person's standards since they're not the main accepted standards that most are fed. Hope this makes sense.

WHEW-WEE! Mercury in fall/accidental detriment AND retrograde! Do you often times feel frustrated because you can't communicate verbally? Like there's a link missing between your thoughts and your mouth?

Actually, no. I've always been a great communicator and have no problem telling people exactly where I stand. I read that Mercury Rx is also known for slow learning, and that wasn't the case for me either.

The apparent inconsistencies between what I've read and my experience is what has caused me a great deal of confusion.

Hm. I have Mercury Rx in my 9th and sometimes I'm at a loss for the right word, especially in situations where I can't type/write something down first and have to just orate. Often times people don't get what I'm saying or they miss the point entirely.

Never been a slow learner, either (and I'm a fast reader). Rx just means that the energy is turned inwards.

This sounds exactly like me. It's so difficult. My father and my relationship was terrible and I have such trouble with all those issues around work too. I have little ambition and motivation because I just simply don't see the point in it. I feel like I can never measure up, even to my own standards. It's so hard. :\

That's kinda the neat part about it, you can change your standards. It's building from the ground up, but when it's finished it's yours. I wonder if Saturn rx relates to having a different set of values regarding the material world...it's possible, it does make sense, where the endless consumption of others and the inefficiency just all looks like a waste. That's imo, I have Saturn rx too, and the different values could be a piece of the pie, have never thought about it like that..

I feel like I often have so many ideas and dreams. I also often would rather live in my head and fantasies than in the real world, to the point of sometimes giving up the real thing. I also feel like with the Saturn Rx makes me super melancholy - it's opposition my Mars in Cancer. I constantly get depressed and thank god I have my bright cheery Sag Moon or else I have no idea how I'd keep going. I feel like there is no place in the world for me. I often fantasize about becoming a gypsy and rejecting all material things and just living simply - of course I love material things. On top of this with my Gemini and Sun opposition Moon It's like constantly changing - what I want to do, what I think is good. ETc. Bah. My chart is lovely! But the Saturn Rx just dampens me. I hate working. If I could just sit home and write and travel, it'd be perfect. I have no care for money, I only use it to get to do things or have things, but I dont see the value in keeping it. So it's frustrating to be stuck in a world that makes me have bills and work and taxes and finance all those things I really hate dealing with.
