What are you guys' criteria for the most important aspects of a composite? For a while I only really looked at the ascendant and placements in the 7th house out of laziness - I never felt the composite was as "compelling" as synastry, but now I'm thinking of it in a new light recently.

I've read every popular link on composites that the internet can offer - but what are your experiences in lasting aspects when it comes to the composite? What about notoriously bad ones?

I'm very curious about the vertex/south node in relation to the composite in particular.

I also look to see if planets are close together, rather than scattered.

Also 4th, 7th, and 10th house placements are usually for family/marriage/business kinds of things. This can be important for a relationship - I think Moon, Venus, Jupiter are good placements there.

1st and also 7th can tend to be about attraction, physical attraction. Not necessarily about creating a life together though.

5th tends to be more light hearted and usually more towards fun!

8th 12th tends to be more about intense emotions and power and love. Again, good thing, but can go either way - can sometimes mean a relationship is too heavy depending on other factors.

If I see lots of the 3rd, 9th, or 11th tend to think more open, more friendly, more light.

With the 6th house, I don't have much experience, other that I'd say it'd be an uneven relationship or one of service.

With planets - I always look for:
a well placed Saturn with Moon or Venus
not too many squares - Jupiter squares are usually better than others
some oppositions between softer planets
Moon conjunct Jupiter or Venus
Jupiter conjunct Venus
No neptune negatives with Moon, Venus or Jupiter.
Any major planets conjunct an angle But for myself, I prefer Jupiter, Venus, and Moon.
Bad aspects between Saturn, Mars, and Pluto can be rough unless there are other good aspects to those planets. ESP. Saturn opp. Mars and Pluto square mars. my own preference.
Pluto trine Moon or Venus indicates intense feelings, it can be okay. I prefer Jupiter trine those.
Mercury with bad aspects can really hurt an otherwise good one, IMO. A good Mercury can help a worse one.
