I have seen fellow Knowflakes say find it yourself, or people not responding at all to Knowflakes that need simple answers, or an opinion. Sometimes we dont need anything, just a virtual shoulder to lean on.
So what is the point if we all cannot help eachother and/or offer insight and wisdom?
When I first became a member in 2008, I found this site to be very helpful and supportive of one another. Now, I rarely post because the overall friendliness has diminished quite a bit.
Also, alot of people are gone that used to accept others in a welcoming manner, unfortunately.

Yes,I think if we have been at LL for any amount of time, we should try to welcome newcomers.
It is scary to come in to a group for the first time.

Hi Juniperb!
Its not me, because I dont post as much as I used to. But to me, the overall tone has changed here. If a question is asked, some people get perturbed, whereas before Knowflakes were more apt to help others.

Hey that's what a lot of us do when we're looking for info, we go learn on our own. You have to research at least some and not have everything handed to you on a platter. Plus when you research and draw *from your experience* you get more of a feel for reading a chart, specifically your own. Looking at charts AFTER THE FACT is what helps you learn. No can give you that knowledge and it's the best kind.

I completely get where she was coming from and you don't have a right to criticize her.

I also didn't see you respond to that thread (as of the time I'm submitting this post), which is why this thread *here* makes absolutely no sense.

Lonake, if I dont know about something, it would be hard for me to have input. Also, I am not here alot. Im also about to have a baby and have quite a few other things in my life going on. My energy is usually limited these days.
I have a right to my opinion, and this is the feeling I get nowadays.
Also, I dont need this thread to make sense to you or anyone else.

I realize my number of posts is quite low and I probably don't have enough merit to even contribute to this conversation but I'd like to say that I agree with both of you. Research is absolutely key because without it a reader may be unfamiliar with the topics mentioned in a more advanced member's post. Also, there's the old "you can lead a horse to water" adage. When I joined several months ago, I did find Lindaland a bit cold at first and was disappointed that few, if any, replied to my posts. I tried for a few days and finally got a detailed reply explaining things I'd never even dreamed of. Because of this, I persevered and kept trying in an effort to grow. Research was the stepping stones, and Lindaland was the map. Once my research became evident in my posts, I received much more feedback and now I find Lindaland to be a very welcoming place. Most of the time.

Aw, shucks. I guess glamor is my burden to bear. I can't even go to the post office without getting mobbed by rabid fans. Maybe it's this new lace-front wig I picked up. Avant-garde or not, $119.77 is an ABSOLUTE STEAL!

You're criticizing someone for responding to a thread which you didn't bother to respond to yourself. You have no place to say anything if you didn't pitch in to help, all I see you doing about it is whining.

And I don't care about what you need, I'm going to call this how I see it.

So, here's something you should both try. Remember that bad 90's song, "The Name Game?" Have you ever tried singing it using the name Chuck? Omg, it's hilarious.

No, I listened to smooth R&B in the early 90s.
Then all the music that was coming out of England in the latter half.
And jazz of course cos that's what my family liked, and 1940's crooners.

Not you Lonake. You are one of the most positive and best astrology woman here on L.L. Your really help. When I take a look here sometimes I also see an negative athmosphere been back.

I see
1. ignoring people
2. people who put up charts and been judge only on a negative way. I cant see that help anyone.
3. I see chat and groups who talk to each other on a way like they talk on msn.
4. I think people should be careful about how they write here.

We are all people and must take care about each other.

I have seen many recent post by Lonake and I have to say that I am learning a lot from her insights. I have not had too much time to read carefully some threads that has lot of information from which most of us can learn.

What I have observed is that normally at the begining, people post questions or chart expecting a lot of reply and then get dissapointed when null or few replies are offered. of course, probably a welcoming email to newflakes guiding then through the forum and giving them some ways to navigate the information already available would be helpful. sometimes, we asked questions that 100 people before asked. google it and get so much info.

I appreciate when poeple post links with old post, so the effort of others is not wasted. It must be super time consuming explain 100 times the same thing that is already writen in older posts.

yes, I have a point...

1)newcomers can be welcomed with an email explaining how to better use the forum and how to get the best of other people resources (time and knowledge)

2)there is something that is "fair exchange" of course if somebody know nothing, probably their contribution is limited, but hey, even the most ignorant can google certain things. or can ask for websites rather than expecting free reading all the time. time is valuable and sometimes we may wonder why to spend time doing the work others can do on their own. that may explain the non-response behavior. the perception that somebody is being lazy and not doing their homework may be unmotivating

3)Giving is not an obligation.
