Hiya

I love perfume, and have several different fragrances which I carefully keep in a special drawer next to my bed that is just for perfumes, the body lotions and talcum powders of the same scent. Some are the really expensive ones from designer labels, some are cheaper low-end scents but I like them anyway.

I wonder if there is any correlation between natal charts and the type of fragrances you like to wear. Or perhaps, the people you are attracted to wear a particular type of aftershave or perfume...?

Anyone want to share their preferences?

Interesting. So what perfumes do you like for yourself?

I like the scent of lavander and, especially, hyacinth and lilac. The note should be clean and pure, relaxing. But still lovely ))

(Virgo Sun, Taurus Moon).

Recently, I've been very much into natural "mono scent" body lotions and perfume/edt. Among them new favs eheh, is a lilac edt. The body lotions/butters are nice because you cannot (must not) smell them from far away, just at very close range. And they are very usable going to the gym.

Used to like designer perfumes (well still do them occassionally) and applied them generously but I've since changed idea on that. Never been into the sweet and heavy stuff so. That gives me headaches

Oh ya ... Aqua Sun, Taurus Asc, Cap Venus, Virgo Moon. Dunno which one is to blame here

Thanks for your replies, its interesting to get others' views about the subject.

So do you wear perfume so it makes you feel nice when you smell it, or to make others notice you/enjoy your scent?

I think I am probably the latter. I struggle sometimes because different perfumes work on different people, and if I'm going somewhere with a mix of people, I can never decide who to impress! Its not like I can say "just do what pleases yourself, be yourself etc and let others like you for that" because I like all the perfumes and sides of me, so I can't choose!

Hmmm, I think I mostly do it for myself, because I feel better when I know I smell good, because I hate bad smell, which would make it quite hypocrite not to take care of it on myself (hello to you, Virgo Moon?). So, I enjoy knowing I smell good.

And well, the body lotion stuff cannot really be noticed from the range you interact with random people. Even when I use some of the flower scents, I do it so sparringly that it's just a lingering thought, like when you smell a garden passing by.

Gosh I am so poetic today

I like ur wisdom in signature

As for perfumes,I like scents with heavy base: musk and vanilla; I love bergamot; Jasmine oil; almonds;
My favourive perfume is quite exotic,based on melon and tonka beans; I can't tell which is it,I so possesive over it;
I respect French school prefume-making; elegance and quirkyness; Especially Dior,eg Dolce Vita. And I am forever fascinated by Angel (Thierry Mugler) although I don't use it.
There r some great niche perfumeries in USA;
P.s Do I looovee Burberry Brit
I'm Libra Asc,Cappy Moon,in addition to fore mentioned.

Ahh, I do like the perfumes of Thierry Mugler, Angel is one of those I still use on occassion (strangely enough, it doesn't give me headaches). And I also totally dig Burberry Brit.

But for everyday use, I definetly go simple and natural.

Aw thank you.

Totally in agreement about French perfumes... they have such elegance and class don't they.

I too am fascinated by Angel, but I have to be in the right mood. Some people say it gives them a headache so I have to be careful where I wear that one!

@Yrone - that's a good word for my reaction to Angel too - 'fascinated'. I can't believe an adult perfume can be so sweet - and yet I find it mesmerising somehow!

I am an absolute perfume junkie and have loads of the stuff stashed away to suit whatever mood I'm in. My current favourite is Breath of God by Lush/Gorilla Perfumes. It's an absolute gem! Libra sun, Pisces moon, btw!

Ooh I'll try to find that one snarly and have a sniff! Can always add to my collection!

How about fragances you like for men? One of my favourites is Fahrenheit by Christian Dior...

Where are all the men? I'd love to know what different signs prefer their female friends and lovers to smell like....

I like Burberry Touch on men, I think because of the vetiver and musk.

On myself I like 6 Scents Vol 1 Teen Spirit by Preen & Marc Buxton, which also has musk.

Also like Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf (like every other girl). I wear it when I'm feeling fancy. It has jasmine and patchouli.

Also like Lacoste pour femme which has sandalwood.

AND LASTLY Bond no 9 DNA for her: has jasmine and vetiver.

Basically, I'm attracted to jasmine and deep, sensual scents. Not a fan of fruity or sugary stuff generally.

I think Venus and 2nd house would determine what kind of smells you like. I have Venus in Pisces square Saturn and Uranus and 2nd house is in Cancer, with Moon in Libra in 5th opposite Jupiter.

As far as home scents, I go for oceany smells or patchouli/incense, as well as sandalwood and "clean sheets" smells.

I like to burn incense a lot. Probably because of my Aqua Sun

The starred are my most favorite,

Floral,
Lola - Marc Jacobs
This warm floral bouquet conveys the free spirit of today's sexy, modern girl - she is playful, cool, and flirtatious. The long-lasting, day-and-night scent opens with pink peppercorn, pear, and ruby red grapefruit. Blooming midnotes of rose, fuschia peony, and geranium make a feminine statement. Layers of vanilla, warm tonka bean, and creamy musk create a sensuous drydown.

Malachite - Banana Republic

***Stella - Stella McCartney***
Notes: Rose, Peony Flower, Mandarin, Rose Absolute, Amber.
Style: Sensual. Intense. Feminine.

Floral Oriental,
Diamonds - Armani
Notes: Lychee, Raspberry, Rose, Freesia, Lily of the Valley, Vetiver, Cedar Wood, Patchouli, Vanilla.
Style: Confident. Fascinating. Luxurious.

Inspiration - Lacoste

Woody Oriental,
Lolita Lempicka - Lempicka
Notes: Ivy Leaves, Aniseed, Amarena Heart, Violets, Iris Roots, Vetiver, Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Musk.
Style: A sensual, romantic, and enchanting fragrance.

***Midnight Poison - Christian Dior***
Top Notes Bergamot, Orange
Middle Notes Rose
Base Notes Patchouli, Amber

Try just to spritz it on once in the morning and that's it..but will overdose on it when at home, just love the smell, so I wear it for me more than for others. Not liking when men wear cologne, at least one that I would be kissing, touching, I guess the other guys can. Men should be clean and natural.

Pisces/Capricorn/Leo

I used to like Angel too, still like to smell it on others, but not for me.

Aries Sun, Libra Moon, Libra Mars, Pisces Venus:

Acqua de Gioia

I just picked this one up. It's very appealing to me.

Water as a source of joy and pleasure.

A joyful thrill.

An addictive aquatic wood touched by the caress of sunny flower petals.

The notes feature crushed mint leaves, limone primo fiore, aquatic green accord, pink pepper, jasmine sambac, peony, cedar, labdanum and brown sugar accord.

Some really interesting replies, and lots of new perfumes for me to go test at Boots!

snarly - Chanel Allure for women is one of my favourites too; men cannot resist it haha. I've never thought of testing the men's version, might try that nearer hubby's birthday!

Today is a Chanel Coco Mademoiselle day here :-)
