is there such a thing as house synastry?

lets forget about the orbs and aspects in synastry for a moment, and consider house and sign placements of planets..

does anyone think house synastry is important?

for example, if a woman's Sun is in the 9th house, and her Man's Moon is in the 9th house, how does this synastricaly show as compatibility? is it under valued synastry?

or a mans 2nd house mars and a womans 10th house venus (earht)

It gives more compatibility but the objects in question don't interact with each other. It's like... 2 people who have the same interest, does that activity together but they don't necessarily interact with each other or feed off each other while doing that activity. There's no reciprocation. It's like "Oh cool, we both like to work out at Gold's Gym" and go to that gym separately lol.

I have a 9th house Sun and so do most of my friends. We like to have long, deep discussions but our emotional responses to each other (whether we feel at ease or if we enjoy it) are dependent on the aspects between our planets.

i'd say thats a pretty good analogy, perhaps like two people attending the same university, or something. studying under the same department.

do you think this can mean that there is some kind of Moon-Sun energy? not by interaction of course as there is no aspect, but perhaps like, a match and a candle. the match can light the candle, but if they were in aspect, we'd have a lit candle. sort of thing..

Precisely. If one person has a 5th house Moon and the other has a 5th house Sun, you will both deem 5th house interests as important to you (like children, creative expression, romance, etc). Since they are 2 different planets, it will operate a bit differently but I think the affinity is still there. The Sun person needs 5th house stuff for their ego, the Moon person needs 5th house stuff to be emotionally secure.
