I ran into a question about who will overcomes fear better - people whose chart doesn’t show any challenging aspects to Saturn - or a person with a severely “afflicted” Saturn? I looked into two charts and made a fragile hypotheses that harmonious Saturn allows that fear be overcome internally, while "afflicted" Saturn attempts to overcome it externally. In Mohamed Ali's chart Saturn is conjunct Uranus in the 10th and it’s also square Aquarius Venus in 6th. (His chart: http://www.astrotheme.com/portraits/a7c7XPakB2EG.htm ) It shows that heavily involved Saturn may give a person external transcendence of fear. Another example is Gandhi, his Saturn has only harmonious aspects – it’s a part of the Grand Trine with Neptune and Moon. He transcended fear by finding inner peace (a flow) (His chart: http://www.astrotheme.com/portraits/3QG42Yes5R22.htm ) Any thoughts? Thanks. http://www.astroknowlogy.com/questions/what-do-you-think-who-is-more-fearless http://www.astroknowlogy.com/questions/are-placement-aspects-of-saturn-in-the-natal-chart-related-to-what-we-fear IP: Logged |

Well in my opinion, soft Saturn aspects are definitely easier as far as learning lessons goes. These people have a natural flow of the Saturnian energies combined with their personality, so I'd think it is easier for them. BUT, I think hard Saturn aspects, when handled, are stronger than easier aspects. A person with Saturn hard aspects, when they (or IF they) actually learn to integrate Saturnian energy, will have stronger traits, than those with the easy aspects. I agree on the internal/external theory.I think it's more a matter of difficulty, really. Hard aspects = harder, obviously, but it doesn't mean the results will be mild or not as "good" as those with the easy aspects. IP: Logged |

Re: external vs. internal- Personally, I find this to be true not with just Saturn, but it is also the major difference between Grand Squares and Grand Trines. IP: Logged |

Yep, Grand Squares and Grand Trines are definitely part of it.I think the idea was that easy aspects are generally more internal, while hard aspects need external challenge to integrate the person's character. IP: Logged | |
