looking at my solar return chart for 2012, I have mercury, sun, and moon in the 7th house conjunct my natal venus and in my natal 1st house. does that mean I could start a new relationship next year? also solar return venus conjunct chiron and neptune. also what would the ascendant in cancer mean, more concerned with relationships and sensitive? I tried posting the actual chart but it didn't work

1. Do you think that a solar return is a predictive method for the year ahead?

2. What do you think the other planetery returns are used for in a predictive basis?

I like Venus returns for predicting love. Mainly planets on the angles- particularly the ASC have thus far been good indications of starting a new (important) romantic relationship for me. I've had years though where I was expecting a romantic relationship from strong 7th house placements but it didn't happen. Maybe if the 5th house was also involved it be different but 7th house is about marital relationships (ie if you are already married or involved), business relationships, and really any one on one relationship- not exclusive to romance though. 5th house placements have been a better indicator of romantic involvement to me. I would check your Venus return in addition to your solar to get a better idea though!
