i just saw a synastry chart with 12(!?) planetary conjuncts ranging from 0 degrees to 9 degrees apart, 5 of which were close conjuncts with 3 degrees or less between them.

this is from another forum and the general consensus was that a lot of conjuncts and especially moon conjunct moon was a bad thing.

the people in question weren't born close together as far as i know since his pluto is in libra and hers was in scorpio.

What?? Moon conjunct Moon is one of the best aspects imo.

In terms of the rest of the conjunctions, it can be good or bad depending on the planets. Venus conjunct Saturn isn't great, Venus conjunct Mars is certainly spicey.

Post the chart.

well the logic behind moon conjunct moon being bad was that it was "too much of a good thing"
http://tinyurl.com/3ut6sus

i'm the girl with the inner ring and he is the outer.

copying and pasting from the other forum...
same planet conjunct:
Sun/Sun +3°38′
Venus/Venus +9°54′
Moon/Moon +0°57′
Neptune/Neptune +6°51′.

the other conjuncts include:
Sun also conjuncts his Merc +6°07 and his Mars +3°56′.
Jupiter also conjuncts his Moon +6°29′.
Uranus conjuncts his Neptune +7°47′.
Saturn conjunct his Jupiter +2°06′ and his Uranus +1°30′.
Pluto conjunct his Saturn +6°54′ and his Pluto +7°54′.

as you can see the moon is a pretty tight conjunct there.

Shouldn't count the neptune, saturn and uranus bc they are more generational and move really slow.

And orbs bigger than 6 shouldn't really be counted.

Moon conjunct Moon is awesome. It can get stagnant at times because you're so much alike but it's still the best there is.

thanks for the welcome.

i've heard a lot of things about the orbs. that anything more than 3 won't be felt but some people go up to 10 in either direction.

And I would think that Saturn conjuncts would be important in a relationship since that's the restriction/teacher/lesson giver, and could show a sign of either longevity/staying power or one of responsibility/obligation?

In anycase, even if I tossed out the outer planets and anything above 6 degrees, there's still several conjuncts there. Still wanting to know if this is a good or bad thing and why.

Saturn conjunctions to outer planets can give us some clues, but in general people are referring to Saturn conjunctions to personal planets, significant asteroids, or points such as the ascendant, when they talk about karmic links.

No aspect is really good or bad, but conjunctions can be very strongly felt, moreso than squares or trines. I disagree that you should disregard conjunctions with an orb above 6, because even loose conjunctions paint a part of the picture of the relationship between the two people, no matter if it's faint in the background or not, it makes a slight difference.

There's nothing bad about same planet conjunctions, but if we're going with synastry-by-numbers this would mean you two are very similar people, since your sun and moon are in the same place. If this is a parental or friendly relationship, these would be great aspects to have because it denotes a lot of similarity between the two people in sun and moon "areas," without either person even trying. In a romantic relationship, though...not everyone wants to date themselves. That's why it's fairly rare to see couples with the exact same birthdate. It happens, but it's rare.

To figure out whether these aspects are "good" or "bad" to you, you have to first consider what the planet represents. Two people who have the same approach towards how to handle feelings, what makes them feel good, how to feel safe and secure, could have a lovely relationship. Two people who have the same approach towards their personal identity, who they think they are, and their overall outlook on life can also have a lovely relationship. There is no right or wrong.

It's important to look at what you value in another person and see if those conjunctions speak to those values or not. It's also important to think about your own chart, especially with same planet conjunctions. A personal example: I have a Libra sun, but in my natal chart my Saturn squares it exactly and Uranus and Neptune squares it with a little wider orb. So someone whose Sun is conjunct my Sun may be able to feel our similar approaches to identity and self, but they will also feel my hard outer planet aspects. They might feel like I'm a little bit more hard on our kind than the average person. Or they might feel like I'm judgmental or a hypocrite since I tend to struggle more than them with my identity and self-assurance.

On the other hand, my outer planets are trine my moon which is also sextile my Venus, and one of my longest lasting relationships had his Moon conjunct mine to the degree. I felt this very much during our relationship, and it was wonderful for me.

I hope this helped!

I don't like having a lot of conjunctions. It's too much for me.
I find it exhausting.

My favourite aspects are oppositions and trines.

Also - nothing is "good" or "bad"... depends on what you prefer.

My ex bf (current friend) and I have a Moon2Moon conjunction. We always get along well and we are emotionally in tune - But I can see how both the positive and the negative traits are emphasised.. I would prefer to be with someone who cheers me up when I'm upset... whereas he would just agree that the situation is very upsetting.

I definitely agree. I loved him a lot, and I still do as a friend, but it was almost like we couldn't really impact each other very well emotionally, we just "received" together. That was really helpful in situations where I wanted someone who "understands" lol, but there were a lot of times where we had to each go to someone else to talk about our individual problems. It wasn't a bad thing for us, though, he is the least jealous person on the planet and I understood that we were too similar for me to have any outside insight.

wal2 thanks a lot for the explanation!

as an fyi, the birthdays are not the same or on the same day. there's a three year difference - it may be hard to tell but the plutos are in two different signs.

I didn't necessarily mean that the saturn conjuncts were karmic, just that they would also also add weight to a chart even if it was a slower planet.

i do get what you mean about how the SO would feel the hard aspects i personally feel for myself but i guess by the same token they would also feel the good aspects as well? hm fair enough i don't think that will be as much of a problem for me since i think my chart is a fairly easy one to live with!

well at the very least i think it will be interesting! what was it normally said about cancer and familiarity...? lol

but then again not all the conjuncts are the same planet ones, so those conjuncts would affect the chart entirely different from how the same planet ones would, correct?
