I am using astro.com mostly for the chart generation and well, I've noticed that they are not counting opposition when they are around 7° apart, whilst being more lax with squares. It also appears to make a difference to them whether synastry or not. Also, I've heard the "if you feel it, take it" stance, but if the chart and/or synastry isn't mine, I can hardly feel it. If they allow very generous up to 8° on trines in natals, why not count a 7° trine in synastry? etc etc. IP: Logged |

You can alter the orbs. Say if you only want 6 deg orbs there is a box and you put 60% in the box and it will only show aspect less than or equal to 6 deg. ------------------ Transit Saturn giveth and Transit Saturn taketh away... IP: Logged |

Yeah I know that I can do that. I use that tool depending on what I am looking at.Here, I wanted some opinions on orb size regarding oppositions etc. as explained in the examples and whether there really are differences in handling orbs natally or in synastry. IP: Logged |

Still looking ^^Would you count an opposition of 6°-7°? Considering one of the bodies involved is the Sun. Don't luminaries get a bit of layway in that regard? IP: Logged |

I don't get why ppl use such large orbsI think it's good to stick within 5 personally. And for sextiles and trines, it's good to use 4 MAX squares should be around 4 too.

I think the maximum orb for the luminaries is 10°, which is WIDE.I like to use 8° max for conjunctions and oppositions, 6° for squares, 4° for trines and sextiles. 3°or even 2° for minor aspects. IP: Logged |

I would agree to stick to smaller orbs really, my personal feeling in this case however is to consider the (maybe) opposition since the sun is a luminary with the outcomeIP: Logged |

My instinct is that every angle should be completely exact, or I feel like I'm just cheating. Ridiculous, isn't it.Do you think the tighter the angle the stronger the influence of the aspect, or is it just an on/off yes/no thing?
