I have the square and it's quite terrible.

There always seems to be obstacles to whatever I want to do.
Energy levels are either too high or too low.
I have a hard time expressing my anger, and I am easily frustrated.

Anything good about this aspect at all??

I don't have the perseverance that is supposed to characterize Mars-Saturn aspects (certainly because I have the square).
The only good thing is that I have a sense of discipline, and I can endure physical pain better than most.

I really hope it gets better with time.

I have this...with Mars in Aries. Its an awful sign to be involved in such a configuration. Its like there's a cosmic wet blanket always being thrown over my will over and over again until I don't have much enthusiasm left.

Exactly!
My Mars is in Scorpio, conjunct Pluto... so Saturn also squares my Pluto.
One word : hard.

Sigh. I know.

But hey there gotta be some potential, right?
I'm sure with time we're gonna be able to use the energies correctly

Apparently, the only way to master this aspect is extreme caution and planning-planning-planning. Its just weird to try out something that isn't really in my nature. For example, my Mars is in the 3rd...I naturally drive fast. Though since a recent series of traffic citations, I've seriously had to adjust my speed to something I'm not very used to driving consistently. Its so unnatural to me I want to scream. Southern ideas of an ideal speed are nowhere near the same as the New England standard, that's for sure. XD

Hahaha! Oh dear you're so right about planning.
I hate planning though.
Gem rising wants improvisation! lol

Yeah, I have a heavy mutable and neptune influence so I just like to either go with the flow or impulsively do everything at once (aries mars again I suppose).

One of my children has this aspect but she is still too young and I am not sure how this manifests with her.

I can't comment much as I have Mars Trine Saturn and find it easy to organize my endeavors.

If we talk by sign I have an Aries-Capricorn square in my chart with DIFFERENT planets. Aries wants to go ahead and be spontaneous and not think about stuff..just do it and the Capricorn side wants to plan it out and be cautious. I guess the trick is to plan as you go....for example, I left the house today without a kleenex and later on I needed one. The next time I go out I just remember to bring a kleenex along..or whatever object that I need. With an Aries-Capricorn square may be similuar to Mars square Saturn........my guess anyhow.

Same here. Aries Mars opposite Scorpio Saturn (and Libra Pluto). Probably being reinforced by the fact that I'm an Aries with Cap rising. You're right about the enthusiasm thing. Something always comes up to rain on my parade. Whenever I want something really, really bad, I must put a hold on it and wait, usually years, until I get it, and work really hard for it. And when I do get it I'm so tired and so disappointed from all the blockage and the hard work that I'm unable to enjoy it. It's hard when everything is such a struggle.

Okay, on the positive note, yeah, there's stamina and endurance. This configuration made me a lot less impulsive than I should have been and I stayed out of many troubles because of it. Saturn always wants to wait and think things through, usually deeply and from all corners. Mars rules my 3rd and usually my thinking is on the mature side. Being careful and patient can have its rewards, but I miss the drive and the Aries enthuziasm sometimes. I'm a fast driver too, but I'm always thinking what if I get into an accident, so I'm only driving fast when the road is clear. I have patience in traffic, I don't find it that hard to be stuck on rush hour.
Mars-Saturn hard aspects are supposed to be harder on men than on women. But since Mars usually shows what you're attracted to, I found that the men in my life are usually "damaged goods" and relationships are also hard because of that. Mars also rules sex life and with Saturn in the mix, you can imagine the effect.

Wow. You had me thinking, and I've realized that the majority of men I've attracted in my adult life have had problems. They were all pretty varied, but yeah...in the end these issues ended up too big to sweep under the rug.

My best friend has Mars square Saturn/Neptune and that hasn't played out very pretty either. She has a worse track record than I do in love.

I can agree that I could've been alot more trouble if it wasn't for saturn with my impulsive mars. Even if he has been a wet blanket.

I agree. With my 3 malefics in opposition, I should have been a hell spawn or something. But it wasn't until I met someone with an exact Mars-Pluto conjunction (I have an exact opposition), but no Saturn, who put someone in a coma, that I thought "Thank God for Saturn!" I can handle the repressed anger and the frustration that comes out of it, but at least I don't have to live with something like that on my conscience, because Saturn always thinks about the consequences.

Yes I agree with you guys.

It isn't THAAAT bad.
I mean yes it's hard but at least we're not some impulsive and abrasive people!

And remember, time is on our side

Ps. I too, tend to attract men with hard Mars-Saturn aspects. (just like my dad)

WOW, that is a karmically far out story. Of course I'm not applauding the guy (that's terrible) but it seems like a light lesson from Saturn to me. Like he was basically saying "You see?". It makes me wonder what I could expect in meeting someone who has the Mars/Uranus square without the Saturn. Maybe a drag-racer gone terribly wrong....ugh.

Benedict, I'm glad you're seeing Saturn from a more positive side. Being our chart ruler, I guess it's better to be friends with him than enemies.

I have a question for everybody with this aspect. Do you think this aspect makes you lazy? Well, I don't know if this is the only aspect to blame in my chart, but I can be lazy sometimes. Like I just don't have the energy to do something. Also, do you feel like giving up when something doesn't work out the way you want? I do, at first, I'm thinking Of course, nothing good ever happens to me (which is not true all the time, but sometimes it is). But then I think hey, I'm not a quitter, so I hang in there, though I'm no longer fully committed to it.

Mars-Neptune and Mars-Saturn hard aspects are two of the worst aspect of all to have in natal chart so just commit suicide and get rid of all it.

My sister has both, plus Uranus.
She's still alive, luckily.
