like I find on a lot of sites that it mentions that Aphrodite, the Venus Goddess, is associated with Libra and/or Taurus. Or really Athena is Libra because she represents civilization and justice...Also that Zeus is Sagittarius while Ares is Aries. etc etc. Does anyone have some valuable incites on this? ------------------ BitterSweetBelly IP: Logged |

They definitely do... somehow. I was raised in Greece and read in many sources that western astrology does have roots in the greek mythology. Here's a link I found... giving a brief explanation! http://www.igreekmythology.com/greek-zodiac.html IP: Logged |

Well, if you look at zodiac sign rulers, the planets, you will see that they correspond with Gods.ie: Gemini/Virgo = Mercury aka Hermes Libra/Taurus = Venus aka Aphrodite Aries = Mars aka Ares Sagittarius = Jupiter aka Zeus and so on IP: Logged |

Oh, of course they do! Welcome! In my country, there is a book for teens called "Olympus Legends", and I learned a lot of things when I recently read it. The planets are archetypes, as the Gods were. For instance, Saturn, the god of time, who ate his children was often portrayed as an old man. http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/roman/index.htm http://www.roman-colosseum.info/roman-gods/ IP: Logged |
