what in a chart makes a person a picky eater? i'v always been very picky...so picky, in fact, they used to call me "picky nicki" (a name i bitterly hated) so i'm curious, what makes people picky?------------------

I have no idea, but I'd like to know too. I'm a picky eater,due to my obsession with my health. My 6th house is in aquarius. I have no planets there, but uranus (2nd house libra) forms a t-square with jupiter(8th house aries) and saturn (11th house leo). IP: Logged |

Saturn rules my 6th and I have the Moon in there,
Very Picky Eater
Plus I think most people are pretty dirty, for example living around dogs and cats, eating in the same room as their pets etc. so it's not just food it's other things about the eating and food prep environment that gross me out as well. This is the main reason I close to never eat at restaurants. Cooks not wearing hairnets, etc. It's very gross.IP: Logged |

I think Venus in Virgo is classic for being a picky eater.
I know you don't have this placement,Nicki.
I think ,for you,it may be the heavy 6th house as Lonake alluded .

Well I think it has to do with some Virgo/6th house influence.I wouldn't say Virgo Venus is picky about food though.
My sister has that and I am more picky than she is (Virgo Moon). IP: Logged |

Not sure if it'll help much, but I once read a book of an acclaimed Dutch astrologer and she said the 2nd house also signified eating habits, because it represented nurture. A conclusion she came to because 2nd house represented the physical body along with material posessions, in other words anything tangible, I suppose.It's been a while since I read it and I don't want to drag too much out of context. But in experience I've noticed that it holds true in a sense for my chart. I have 2nd house ruler in the 12th house and I have had strange eating habits to say the least. Eating disorders and whatnot. Denying myself food, followed by eating fast food, or just putting myself on strict regimes (did I mention my 2nd house cusp was in Capricorn?  ) And yes, those bad eating habits do have a psychological cause, which lines out nicely with the 12th house position, but then again, strictly speaking that should mean that anyone with such eating disorders should have their 2nd house ruler in the 12th house. Or conjunct saturn, maybe? I also have 1st and 5th house ruler in the 2nd house but I'm not sure exactly what that does for my eating habits. All I can say is that I love cuisine and cooking (and eating it) and I'm pretty much the opposite of a fussy or picky eater  ------------------

Gemini Moons. My siblings have this and they won't eat sh%t but junk food, sweets, and crappy steakhouse food.
I'm a Virgo Moon and I'm very particular about how my food is arranged on my plate, but I don't consider myself a picky eater. I eat a much wider variety of foods than the two I mentioned above.

I'd eat anything except crab, lobster or squid and I have a Gemini moon.On the other hand, my mother has hardly any variation in her diet and she has a Gemini moon too. She's very picky about her food, it always drives me mad. My brother and my ex have the same problem (although my brother eats a bit more and is not as picky, thankfully), and in keeping with the moon sign thing, they both have Aries moon... ------------------

That is fascinating about the 2nd house. I have Sag on the 2nd house and Jupiter in the 9th.
This works for me.I LOVE foreign food. I get really excited if I can try a new cuisine ------------------

moon in leo in the 3rd, sun, mars, and pluto in scorpio and mercury in sag all in the 6th...answer anyones questions? oh and aya, to respond to your post about the second house, i have jupiter rx and chiron rx in conjunct in cancer in the 2nd as for my other placements: saturn, uranus, venus, and neptune in capricorn...all but uranus is in the 8th, uranus is in the 7th ------------------

i have virgo moon and i'm picky about what i'll eat, but not really how it's arranged on my plate. it's more that i know what i like and i'm hesitant to try new things. maybe mars in cancer has dulled down my adventurous side?IP: Logged |

Neptune Capricorn 8I really didn't care about eatting when I was little. Oh God I was a pain in the *ss at dinner time. I only wanted dessert. Most of my early child hood was really good. And dinner time for me was borring. I wanted to be playing, or watching t.v., or eatting ice cream. I use to stick my legs in my dress or shirt and "look at me I'm so full! Can I have dessert now?" Well my mom and dad would make me eat a certain amount before I could go have dessert, watch tv, or play. So I can eat food fast. But I eat dessert so SLOW, to this day. Today I love healthy food and junk food. What useally matters to me is how fresh the food is.(twikies are gross, apple pie made from scratch is yum!) And I can't eat the same thing everyday I need variety. I try to add lots of protine into my diet. I can Because I think I might be hypoglysimic. I can eat the same thing for a while but I will eventually get tired of it. I use to be such a plain eatter too. No Kethup with fries. No sause with speggetti. Not any more though. I'm not as picky as I use to be. But my mom thinks I still am. Wich is my I buy my own groceries now. IP: Logged |

I am a picky eater and I attribute it mostly to my Virgo Ascendant. Ever since I was a kid I would pick raisins out of muffins and eat them separately, things like that. I just hated not knowing EXACTLY what I was putting in my mouth. The fact that I have a lot of Scorpio in my chart might also be a factor.I also have an aunt who's Virgo Sun whom I COMPLETELY adore. She's the pickiest eater I have ever met in my life, but also has remained quite pretty even into her 60s. I think it kind of exacerbated my picky eating because I looked up to her so much, you know? But having said that, I looooooove a good meal and I like trying new foods and cuisines. Virgo is still an earth element sign, and I think that helps me appreciate the joy of good fresh food. I must quickly say here that I have never met a Virgo who was a picky eater. I am one myself (with Venus in Virgo too) and I eat practically everything. I also love experimenting with food, I love fast food, hell I even drink expired milk. The pickiest eaters so far have been either Taurus or Cancer (all with Venus in Taurus though).
This thing with picky eating and Virgo has to go. It is simply wrong.
PS: Lots of Vegetarians I know are Geminis. Don't know what's up with that.
