This is behind Acupuncture and many of the Oriental philosophies.
I would love to ask some questions and apply it to Astrology------------------

I will look it up.
You heal disease in acupuncture in "simple" ways.
The Oriental philosophy uses the surrounding environent and it's parts as a way to explain life and ,also, to explain man cuz man is a part of his surroundings. So, a disease would be called an imbalance in the earth element, too much wind, too little fire, too much yin/cold, too little yang/hot. Acupuncture and it's foundation of Oriental Philosophy is so powerful that acupuncture can be used as anesthesia during major surgeries in China so it is no small thing  ------------------

Cells grow and die to make way for new cells, and body systems depend upon each other in a similar way to the seasons, working together to ensure the balanced functioning of the body, mind and spirit and the healthy flow of life through the whole person.

Chinese philosophy recognizes five distinct elements of cyclical change called water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. These five elements can be related to our four seasons (with a fifth late summer season) as shown in the table below. The elements can also be related to different colors, emotion, taste, voice and various organs. These can also be related to the selection of food and herbs. Notice the correspondence between the Chinese philosophy and the underlying Indian philosophy, which also classifies everything in the universe under earth, water, fire, air, and ether.IP: Logged |

A lot of Chinese music only uses pentatonic (5 note) scales. Play just the black keys on a keyboard and you will hear the scale in action. I think that the five note scale is related to the five elements, I read an article years ago saying as much, but I can't remember where I read it  The number Five seems to have special relevance in Chinese culture.? I was talking to a professional Astrologer about this.
Fire fuels Air.Air is needed for fire to burn.These elements go together.
Earth contains water as in an ocean.Water is contained by earth .
These two elements go together. Fire burns up earth.These don't go together.
Air destroys earth such as in wind blowing dust etc.
Air and earth do not go together. This is The 5 elements---101  ------------------
