How do these aspects work out for you? I'm interested in both the Moon side and the Mercury side... easy or hard aspects!

The Moon is connected to the emotional realm. Mercury is all about the thinking process and analysing emotions (rather than feeling them).

When I am Mercury - sometimes my detachment puts them off.. I think they want more feeling out of me.
This is especially so with the conjunction. The Moon can also act parental in a sense and try to reprimand Mercury. Sometimes they withdraw in a shell and say nothing at all/ giving disapproving looks.

Maybe this only happens with the hard aspects: conjunction/opposition/square.
I wonder how the trines and sextiles work.

I'm actually surprised that the conjunction here seems more 'difficult' than 'easy'. Has this been your experience?

Hmm Mercury A square Moon A square Mercury B opposing Mercury A forming a fixed T-square.

Reminds me of the song:

"You don't understand me, my baby ..."

With hard moon mercury aspects, I think that the moon person can easily feel hurt by what the mercury person says and the the way that it is expressed.

However, more positively, if both have open minds, it also can make conversation very stimulating, as it is likely to take both parties way out of their usual comfort zones. For some, this will be exciting and mind expanding in a way that really hits home. For others - this will just cause them to dig in and entrench their existing ideas, making them argumentative and upset.

Of course, with soft synastry connections, you can expect lively conversation with much more emotional attunement and agreement over opinions expressed.
