The eclipses are here! The eclipses are here!

What a rocking and rolling week we have ahead of us! Get ready. Fasten your seat belt, put on your crash helmet, adjust your tasers to maximum stun and get ready. What a rocking and rolling week we had LAST week as the first of three eclipses brought things we had previously NOT seen to light. One eclipse down, two to go, we are rocking.

Remember when the Starship Enterprise was under attack and all the lights would flash and sirens sounds? You watched as Captain Kirk assumed a control position? That is the week (or six) ahead of us. The entire starship crew assumed command positions and got ready for action. You need to do that too! Get ready for action!

You will need to combine your best cool, calm, collected Captain Kirk command energy, think SATURN, SATURN, SATURN in relationship oriented, commanding general like LIBRA with the emotional cool, calm detachment and pattern seeing of Mr. Spock, think trine to PALLAS ATHENA in AQUARIUS with engineer Scotties’ intuition, mechanical ability, data gathering and excited communications from the engine room, think last week’s first eclipse of a trine to MOON and SUN in GEMINI on the SOUTH NODE in GEMINI of fated moments, times and information. “Captain”, shouts Scottie in his thick Scottish brogue, “I’ve got her up to warp speed, the force shields are maximized but I don’t think I can hold her together much longer! You have to DO something!” Captain Kirk nodded sagely and calmly continued to command the ship.

I am not sure if YOU were as calm and collected as Captain Kirk last week but you’ll need to keep that steady as she goes focus for the next few weeks as we move through a very powerful eclipse season.

There are three eclipses arriving over the next month and a half. First we had a Solar eclipse at 11 Gemini on June 1, then there is a Lunar eclipse at 24 Gemini/Sagittarius on June 15 and finally another Solar eclipse at 9 Cancer on July 1. During eclipse season, between May 18 and July 15, we finish up and find the conclusion to the story that began during the Winter 2011 eclipses (December 5, 2010 to January 18, 2011). We echo across time and space to the springs of 1955, 1974 and 1993 to see the deeper pattern in our lives as the eclipses take us forward and backward through time. Saturn stopped at 1);33 Libra brings us back to October 23, 2010’s full moon and the activity then and in early November. Tie all the pieces together.

So the first eclipse is a trine to Saturn and Pallas Athena. You are going to be seeing some PATTERNS and getting very clear about how they work or don’t work in your life. Notice them and figure out what you want to do about them. Trines are invitations. Invitations to see things and figure out exactly what you are looking at… So look. See. Pay attention. It is what it is.

Last week, I got eclipsed. Or rather the column got eclipsed. So a brief summary of the energy shifts from last week is next. In addition to the first solar eclipse, Athena stationed to go retrograde at 15 Aquarius and Neptune stationed to go retrograde at 0 Pisces. Both of them will be retrograde for about 6 months. They want us to understand the deeper patterns in our lives and to see the dream(s) we have. Their stations ask us to adjust the patterns and the dreams to fit the new reality you want to create in your life. Now THIS WEEK as Saturn stations goes direct, you’ll be restructuring or rebuilding your life with the knowledge you’ve figured out, patterns you’ve seen and dreams you have hatched since October 2010.

Last week, Jupiter entered Taurus for a year long journey in the sign of planning, planting and putting down creative roots that you want to grow. Over the past year, Jupiter in Aries cleared out the detritus and debris in the garden of your life and the Aries house. Now, as Jupiter enters Taurus we have a good solid year of growth and putting down roots in a new reality ~ our new reality ~ we are growing again instead of chopping things down and clearing the energy before us. Think back to late 1999 early 2000 to see the Jupiter cycle and area of your life starting to grow bigger, stronger and wiser and expand over the next year.

And last but not least, Mercury entered Gemini last week. Normally, Mercury’s shifts are not as important as the other planets as he is so personal and tied to our communication styles. But this time, Mercury rules the South Node of the eclipses as well as the Sun and Moon in Gemini. He will be in THREE separate signs ~ different ones ~ for each separate eclipse. So he was in Taurus for the eclipse last week ~ pointing out the fixed nature of your beliefs or ideas. Now he’s moved into Gemini suggesting you explore possibilities and entertain ideas ~ look at TWO (or more) ways of doing things. Explore the dual nature of choice ~ dance around them, talk about them, try differing ideas out. You get to do that through the next eclipse ~ the emotional Lunar eclipse on June 15. For the final eclipse on July 1, Mercury moves into Cancer and wants you to make a PERSONAL and EMOTIONAL decision about what YOU want.

So the eclipses take us through three phases during their journey this spring. First, last week, we were INVITED to look at what we created or wanted as Saturn trined the Sun and Moon and stationing Pallas Athena. Next up, we are emotionally rocked and asked to see the dual nature of things ~ black exists so white can exist. There is a balance in the universe ~ the duality of black/white, light/ dark, positive/ negative, good/ bad, yes/no, on/off, male/ female. Duality surrounds us. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t truly say YES, unless you can say NO. So the second eclipse helps us see the duality. That is NEXT week. The final eclipse, on July 1, asks us to PERSONALLY CHOOSE which version or versions of reality we want to work with going forward.

Life is full of choices. All the outer planets have changed signs over the past year and a half. Now they are going to turn to each one of us and say “Hey, what do you want to do NOW that your reality has been adjusted?”

Faced with a question like that, we often panic a bit. Oh my goodness, how can I possibly make such a major, life altering decision? Calm down. You only have to make a LOCAL decision. Not a global world wide decision. A decision that supports moving toward your new dream. Not a decision about the rest of your life. But a decision that supports your soul’s desire to develop and grow. A decision that allows you to build the next chapter of your life and your relationship to your life.

Remember, if it is in your heart, it is in your chart. And if you feel fearful of doing it, that is probably exactly what you should be doing!

In the week ahead, we have Saturn slowing to a station at 10:27 Libra on Saturn’s day. However, we’ll feel him grind to a halt for the five days or so before and after his station. Consequently, watch for life altering information to arrive in your life between Tuesday, June 7 and next Thursday, June 16.

Interestingly, the lunar full moon eclipse on the nodes of destiny takes place on June 15 so the news will be rather emotionally charged and deeply or profoundly moving. The Saturn station and Lunar eclipse will pack an emotional wallop as it asks you to deal with a completely altered reality. You’ll find the landscape changed as Jupiter switched signs from Aries into Taurus.

Jupiter in Taurus now rules the North Node of Destiny so rather than RUNNING from your life ~ which has been the desire for the last few months, the universe is going to turn to you and ask you to put down roots and grow your next chapter of life based on the changes that take place this week. One of my students wrote, as Jupiter changed signs, that she made the decision to buy the apartment she is renting~ moving from a free relationship into a fixed one. You’ll find the universe will ask you to make a commitment to something this week. You may or may not want to make that commitment. Live in the duality of Yes / No or perhaps better said, the duality Maybe/ Maybe Not. Live in duality until July 1, when the Solar eclipse moves you to commit for and to what YOU actually want. Encourage all you meet to live in the duality too. At least as best they can.

We hate duality. It makes us nervous. We LIKE knowing what is going to happen. Duality lets us point to the other and go “nope not what I want”. However, the universe hasn’t finished giving us all the information we need to make our decisions. So stay flexible and focused on what you want, explore your options, dance in your choices. Soon you’ll be asked to pick up that Saturn harness and move forward. Dance in possibilities while you can!

Chiron also stations to go retrograde this week on June 8 at 5:27 Pisces. That means your soul wound will be opened up and stirred a bit. So no waffling. No acting out of the fear of being hurt. No running away from your dream. No going back to situations that continue to wound you. Stand in how hard you’ve worked to heal yourself over the course of your lifetime. Understand that the wound will NEVER go away completely but it can be adjusted into a different KIND of energy. Your wound is where your greatest wisdom comes from. No fear based decisions driven by a desire to avoid being hurt. Your sight is clear. Mercury in Gemini is talking to you. Notice what he is saying. Maybe it is the OTHER person’s story that you are hooking into? Maybe YOUR story is a reflection of their story?

Remember people come into our lives as our transits! I, using the tool of astrology, can tell a person why someone is in their lives and what they are supposed to do with them by looking at the charts together. You pulled everyone in your life into your life FOR A REASON. Your soul wanted that experience of the relationship to them. Now you are at a choice point about HOW those relationships continue. Lately, we’ve all been pulling Gemini and dual energy into our lives as the Nodes go through Gemini asking us to explore our belief systems about what it is that we believe and want to keep. No right or wrong ~ just dual sides of the same energy. Explore it and dance in it.

Void Moons for the Week

Because so many planets are in early degrees, there are LONG void moons where you are supposed to kick back and take a break from the hustle and bustle of life. Get those Void Moon Projects moving!

Moon’s day, June 6 Moon in Leo has lovely creative energy and an overdoing aspect to her energy by her square to Venus. You can overspend or over do with money or love today. Still, it will be something that you LOVE even if it costs a bundle. Moon wants to create with you! Give her permission to play at bit. You sees patterns you never noticed before this afternoon. Pay attention to them. Venus joins with Admetos ending something that was wonderful today. It is time for new things or new life to come in. As Venus and Admetos are conjunct Algol, the star of beheading, some one may lose their head. Or heads may roll ~ literally or physically. Remember eclipses often cause things to leave, elevate, rise up or change. Often leaders leave us on eclipses~ the old goes to make way for the new. And thus new folks take on the old leader’s role. Think back to the end of October and early November to see the leaders changing place in your world. Venus joins with Jupiter by declination so it will be a very public leave taking.

Miscellaneous: Happy birthday to the Weekly Weather Column! It is seven years old on June 7! Or is it a “we” are seven years old? As a collaborative effort, I am the column and the column is me?

The Weekly Weather column was born on June 7, 2004 at midnight in NYC. Some 364 weeks and well over a million words later, here we are. Hard to believe but true.

This last year, the column and I have had our rough spots. We all know there are threadbare years in every relationship, good or bad. The rough spots seemed to come in how we connected as I found there was either too much client work or too little writing time. The column kept showing up as I had Saturn square my nodes and flaked off. Even a Virgo can not want to work all the time! Neither too much work or too little time are a bad thing but the combination did affect my delivery schedule. And those beloved Moon columns got lost in the shuffle of overwhelm! We’ll see if they resurface with the solar return’s Virgo Moon in rituals, routines and energy uses.

In our solar return for the 2011 year, we have a lovely grand Air trine of Mercury, Sun in Gemini to Saturn in Libra and Pallas Athena in Aquarius on the Ascendant of the column’s birth chart as well as Moon in Virgo in a grand Earth trine to Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Taurus. In summary, a reliable, delicious, growth /process oriented, deep, psychological, transformative and hard working year with techniques on how to use the energy of the heavens to see patterns, partnerships and the duality of your choices! Sounds like a fun year!
