I recently experienced someone else's but my own is opposite 
Not sure exactly how it played out, but we did seem to argue a lot about his impressions of emotional matters. I found his ideas on those matters rather old-fashioned, stubborn and narrow-minded.
And he was often insulted by it. And then I wonder where we went wrong...  So I'm assuming that in synastry, Mercury conjunct Uranus will do most damage (of course you can argue that Uranus is also trine Eris... ) ------------------

I have it with my wife. Most conversations feel like competition. Its like someone saying the opposite of what you are saying just for the sake of not agreeing. Regular conversation about kids and bills are not like this. But if we are driving somewhere, conversation is kept to a minimum because it always leads to arguments. I get knots in my stomach whenever we have those types of conversations.Also, we have a bunch of other horrible aspects so that probably plays a part too. ------------------
