I struggle every day with this. I can't explain it very well though.

My last two big relationships had Venus Square Saturn (I was the Saturn in the first one, and the Venus in the second one) and feel maybe these were brought to my life to help me figure out my own Venus/Saturn aspect.

Now just talking about my father in another thread, who has Saturn conjunct Sun (7 deg orb), I feel like I have almost figured out my Saturn and how to get past it.

My whole life I have felt very insignificant. My dad is a very strong SATURN influence in my life, for good and bad, and when I was younger definitely it was considered bad. He was extremely strict and had extremely high expectations. He worries about what people think of him and his family (as that is a reflection of him). I know he also wants the best for us and in hindsight as a teenager I should have listened mroe to him but usually if dad says anything I will do the opposite (no idea why) though over the last couple of years have started to listen to his advice . I have never EVER felt good enough. My self-esteem is this || small. I overcompensate for that so I can come across as obstinate/overbearing which I don't believe reflects my true self.

I also have natal Sun Square ASC which I am coming to terms with (Sun square ASC natives can come across as insincere even if they don't mean to) and believe overcoming this completely also ties into positively channeling my Saturn opposition Venus energy (due to the reason in the paragraph above)

I feel like dad is the Saturn in my chart and I am the Venus. I don't know if this makes sense to everyone? For years I have wanted to be on my own two feet and not rely on him for anything and in fact I wish to return to him all the good he has given me in my life, that would make me happy. Of course I am getting there (I am 27 now) and have lived out of home for some time (7 years) but even now I have just bought a house but have gone halves with him (because I can't afford it on my own). He has always told me to rely on him and never a partner. With my previous boyfriend we lost a LOT of money (eg from a court case, $30 000 went into our joint account for compensation and it was gone in 6 months. He decided not to work so our mortgage came out of my $30 000 - I still can't believe this, but was in a bad relationship at the time and in hindsight I would have put it elsewhere and made him get a job!). My Saturn is kicking my Venus for this. Stupid stupid venus. LOL. See what I mean?!? There is a lot of negative self-talk.

I feel like I can't harness this Venus/Saturn energy completely but now I feel like it is somehow connected with my father, and almost like I need to BE my Saturn rather than put my father in that place. Does this make sense? Only then I can truly realise the opposition and master it in the context of my life.

How does narcissus come into this? I am just going off the meaning of narcissus I am unsure of the mythology/astrology behind this.

I also have Sun opp Mars on the MC/IC axis, and Sun square ASC which I think ties into my Venus opp Saturn... so that's a lot of energy to work out. I wish I had a nice bucket chart rather than a see saw lol.

the Mars on the MC/opposite Sun on the IC I think also ties into this venus/saturn opposition and relates to me coming across as overbearing sometimes, compensating for my venus/saturn smallness... and my APPARENT insencere ASC squuare sun aspect. It's a lot but I think I am working out how it all fits together.

I have a feeling my dad is the key in this. He is like a big looming Saturn over me. As I get more mature his Saturn loses some of its grip on me.

Hmm never done a synastry with dad before. Funny our Mars are conjunct in Scorpio haha butting heads, yep!

Ami his Narcissus is conjunct my Moon by 3.25 degrees applying aspect. It sits in my 9th House. Is this significant?
His Narcissus sits at 21.41 Libra and only semi-sextiles his Saturn (at 21.36 Virgo).

Gah. His SUN trines my Venus and Sextiles my Saturn within 2 degrees. It's like he's interfering with my Venus - Saturn opposition. Probably explains the feelings I have about trying to break from the Saturn and it somehow being linked to my father. I forgot to say that the Saturn/Venus sits in my 9th/3rd house and might be considered conjunct the IC/MC axis (parents) ... 6 degree orb.

Since Saturn has been in my 8th house , a LOT of 8th house issues have come up, in fact I feel like I have been getting further behind financially and although my pay has increased a lot more than it has in previous years, that has come with a lot of bills.. eg I rented out my other house (I also bought this with dad) which ended up with huge tax bill I wasn't anticipating. I sort of feel like a failure that I sometimes need to rely on him for money and am really wanting to only rely on myself. Joint finances are governed by 8th and we have just bought a house together (that I will live in) and I am paying a mortgage plus paying him rent for his half.

My natal 8th and 2nd houses are completely EMPTY. I have no natural affinity towards being responsible with money, well I am, but I haven't saved a lot. I just seem to live pay check to pay check, paying out bills , mortgages etc. I see people around me on less than I am able to save up a lot of money. I don't understand it because I always feel like I am dishing out money to everyone. I do lend my money to people then wait for them to get it back to me too (my Venus is also trined by Jupiter to the exact degree too, so this sextiles my Saturn as well).

Anne Ortelee always says to 'do your Saturn' but I have not figured this out. I don't know how to do it!!! my Saturn is in Scorpio. It doesn't feel right there. Does anyone know how to harness this energy? It's like I have some sort of block. I can't feel it, though I feel my Venus... it is very strong. Like in the Venus thread when I described that I will be late for work sometimes because I just can't fathom getting out of bed because it is SO comfy. I am serious when I say that! It's probably a serious problem?! It annoys my Saturn I am sure, but I find it easy to ignore it. Saturn is the little voice that says GET UP and venus is the one that says just close your eyes another minute, it won't hurt. So would doing my Saturn be disciplining myself more and being more structural? I have certain things I like done in certain ways, especially at work with procedures (Mars in Scorpio on MC) but if I go over a self-imposed deadline I am pretty forgiving of myself. I am not the best with deadlines (but am good at asking others about their deadlines!) but then sometimes I will stay up til 3am getting smoething finished if needed. But then again, would I NEED to if I didn't listen to my venus so much? I would be much more organised (It's like I am organised and lazy at the same time). I am usually late to things and I don't mean to be. I do frustrate myself and others. I think of what my dad says a lot of the time, he is pretty harsh with his words when he wants to (but I know he is coming from a place where he wants the best for me and just WISHES I was more organised etc). I don't have a problem with drive, but I have a tendancy to take on too much as well, which leaves me with a pile of To Do lists and me getting so overwhelmed that I freeze and do nothing.

How does this play out in your life?

I see what you mean about what other people think of me. I am aware that I am lucky and I feel like dad helping out with a house is huge! I think that it's a good thing and that I could definitely have a worse father. but at the same time I feel like I should be relying upon myself and only myself and I feel like a failure for him helping me out? Maybe that's why I can't appreciate it like others because I feel like I am failing myself when he helps me out.

Can't wait to master the see saw, I think I am getting closer and closer I feel that the Saturn return is going to be a huge thing.

The return is in about September/October 2013 :S So we will be 29.25 by the time this happens.

I feel huge changes soon too!!!

I did the exact same thing except with my belly piercing! I was only 16 at the time and wasn't supposed to get it done without parental approval so I asked the piercer if I could borrow their phone. I called mum up and said "hi mum, can I get a belly piercing?" "you most certainly cannot!!!" me *chirpy voice* "okay mum, thanks I knew you would say that!"

And told the piercer that mum was okay with it. hahaha

Thanks for sharing 5 days difference! I'm the 12th of May. Technically I was born on midnight of the 12th and 13th. My parents had to choose the date on my birth certificate and chose the 12th. Number 12 is certainly important for me astrologically I have Venus, Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter all sitting at 12 degrees of their respective signs.
I sort of wish they chose the thirteenth so I could have a black friday birthday. Yeah I know totally petty reason but hey.

hmm yeah my parents are divorced too. I went to live with mum. I have the Sun opposite Mars at 22 Tau and 20 Scorpio. So essentially the Mars and Saturn conjunct (20 - 12) and the Venus Sun conjunct widely (12 - 22) creating oppositions with each other. So I have a slight Saturn opposite Sun aspect too by 10 deg.

Maybe that's what saturn teaches us, we are put in a situation we really don't agree with/want to be in/watch other people in that and make an opinion (eg you didnt want to be like him) and then saturn's lesson is to teach us the bigger picture and maybe why that person made the choices they did etc and allows you to let go of that feeling eventually??

Apart from the Sun and Mars interacting with the Venus-Saturn, I also have Jupiter sextile/trine these. My ASC is at 22 Aquarius so that is an exact square to my sun and I guess it activates these oppositions creating T square energy. thank goodness for jupiter!!!!

hahaha our poor parents. I got a nose piercing in 2009 when I went overseas (by this stage they had no choice hehe) Best thing ever. I had wanted one for about 10 years and just got i about 1 hour before the plane flight back. Feel like that was telling saturn to stick it where the sun don't shine hehe. Quite a few people thought I always had it, like they were looking at me like something was different but couldn't tell. (I had a huge stud on my nose and they couldn't tell?!?!?!?!) and they were like.. wasn't that always there? More than a few people were like this, people I had seen on a regular basis for years haha
It took me 10 years to get it cos I thought people would look down on me/it would affect job prospects if I had a nose piercing. That makes me wonder about Saturn as well. It is very stifling, but I feel like I am starting to learn those lessons?

I love cap suns too, I guess we understand the work work work with mars in scorpio as well.

Merc in third in Aries too, I put too much on my plate, but then spend msot of my life driving around doing errands and the like. How third house is that? I am trying to cull this down as well. Trying to get rid of the things in my life that are just taking up time and aren't really getting me anywhere. I also find that I tell people I will do things for them and then overbook myself because I am trying to do everyone elses things and help them out. So frustrating! Do you think that this would be more third house or do you feel this in 6th as well??

I used to be worried about jupiter in cappy (not it's happiest place) but then I saw it was in my 11th house trining my Venus and Sextile Saturn and though.. ahh my saviour ehehe. The Jupiter trine Venus is probably a source of why I feel like I struggle financially... always making sure friends and family are fed, have good birthday presents, make sure I have a really nice expensive comfortable couch etc lol

ahh I thought because ASC squ Sun was an aspect that it naturally would form a t square with my other planets. I'm happy to take your word on it that it doesn't form a T-square

How do you feel having so many people with their Pluto on your ASC??

Im pretty sure that my Libra moon helped (people pleaser) but the actual giving was Jupiter trine Venus. As you can see most of my houses are empty except for some at the top and bottom . Moon only aspects Jupiter by square (even that is a loose square - 6 deg orb) and sextile Uranus which I think is a bit wide of an orb anyway.

So nice to meet someone with a chart similar to mine! YOU GET ME !

Lately I have been focusing on too many different aspects. Like this thread I am thinking about Saturn/Venus opposition and how it relates to me and my saturn and my father but then you realise so many other factors affect these aspects as well. So hard to just separate them from the rest of the chart.

Definitely, but I have been so jaded over the last 5 years that I am not like that as much anymore (boys can be so mean!). I think I need to harness this energy again because its pure and innocent and not cemented in fact. I think I've become too hardened like that in the last few years

I remember when I was 19 I bought my boyfriend a ring with string attached.. with three little cards attached the the string one said "i" one said " " one was "U". he had to pull the string/cards out of an envelope one at a time and then the ring was on the end (it was engraved). He broke up with me a week later. :/

Sad.. I need to really get that romantic streak back again, but it always is wasted on the wrong people who don't appreciate it lol. So now anyone would be lucky if I wrapped a gift for them, let alone made it.

I usually buy flowers for my boyfriends though. Is that weird? hehe Guys secretly love it

what does it mean anyway? i don't pay attention to synastry coz something will always square or oppose something in my chart. i'd rather force the issue anyway ehehe!
