I'd still consider it conjunct, but with different influences from both objects, which they bring into the conjunction ------------------ [Insert catchy signature here.] IP: Logged |

I'd also consider this conjunct! I'm not sure how it would play out though.. because the signs are very different.IP: Logged |

Venus stands for things/people we find attractive.. In a conjunction with the Sun, Venus will usually find the Sun attractive. However - I'm thinking, because it is 'out of sign' maybe the Sun person is not what they would consider their 'type'... So they might be surprised by the attraction. IP: Logged |

Hmmm... How about this (and this is how i think):I believe in the theory that being born on a cusp, will give you both energies, not only that, but the more one's planet progress towards a sign, it actually changes towards having a similar energy to this sign. I have always believed that every consecutive signs, have something in their core that's common, but also have something that is the complete opposite. For example in this case, Sagittarius and Capricorn, have something deeply in common: that they both theorize about life, and are somewhat opinionated about their ideologies, which is a very big similarity. Yet, they actually endorse totally opposite ones. Which means, that maybe a planet which is on a cusp, has truly some traits of the other sign, which makes it blend easily with a planet on the other side of the cusp. So as to say, it's continuum, where there are vast differences between the beginning and the end of a specific sign, but no clear cut boundaries. Energy is energy, not lines that are drawn on a piece of paper. Also, the sun is a big body, not a point, which denotes, that when its center is on a cusp, half of the sun is actually still inside the previous sign, also, that this zone, is a zone of middle ground, as the effect of a constellation is strongest when in the middle not at the extremities, which makes the cusp area a mixture of weak influence by 2 sings. This is actually my human experience not my astrology readings. People progress towards the next sign as their planets progress in the zone of their sign. Also, i believe that each sign is equally different and similar to the consecutive sign, as it is different and similar to its previous sign. In other words, i can't say that Virgo is more similar to Leo than Cancer is to Leo, no, "same difference". Wow too long These are my thoughts anyway IP: Logged |

It is definitely a conjunction, and a tight one at that. I‘d say you (Joe) would feel this aspect quite strongly in your life… out of sign aspects are interesting because they can be like a combination of a soft and a hard aspect at the same time. For example, I have Venus at 29 Sag also, and it is trine Saturn at 0 degrees Virgo… the sign characteristics for this aspect is do not match, but the aspect ‘energy’ connection of the trine is still there. How this has worked in my life is that I’m am careful in love by nature and do feel that this is a plus ( trine = positive, natural flow)…. BUT… sometimes I freeze up and go rigid if something happens in a social situation that makes me feel weird or awkward, and I have a hard time relaxing after this… this has been hard for me to deal with and it is like the trine between my Sag and Virgo planets has both a hard and a soft side to it. Joe, in your case you have a semi-sextile type of conjunction. Each planet expresses itself in totally different way, and yet they are fused in union by the power of the conjuntion… it’s as if you are able to combine to totally different parts of your nature to achieve the same goal… you’re Cap Sun is driven, and you’re Sag Venus exuberant, and even a little playful in how it expresses affection… you are more than likely talented at using your disarming Sag charm to help you get ahead to where you want to be, and ultimately achieve your ambitions in life. Your Sag Venus is like a tool that you use to get what your Cap Sun wants. Also with the Sun and Venus in union… your would rather negotiate or charm others then have a big explosive confrontation any day of the week. Sometimes, people have planets that a square by aspect but trine by sign… like late Pisces and early Cancer… and I would not be surprised if this square was much easier to deal with then the typical Pisces/Gemini square. For the Pisces/Cancer square the energy connection of the aspect is still there between the two planets but the signs are less inclined to disagree, and the result is a mixed bag of benefits and draw backs. Out of sign trines and Sextiles are harder then regular trines and sextiles, and out of sign squares are softer then regular squares. Out of sign oppositions still feel very 'opposite' because they involve quincunx signs, which are still opposite but in different ways. For example, Sag Vs Gemini is about facts & objectivity Vs meaning & morality... BUT... Sag Vs Cancer is about travel & exploration Vs home & familiar... Out of sign conjunctions are like odd-ball couples... like two totally different types of people working on the same project. For example, an out of sign conjunction between a planet in Cap and a planet in Aqua is like a business tycoon and a mad scientist working together to produce and market a new product... they use each others different abilities, and perspectives in union, leading to a superior result... I must politely disagree on the theory about the mixing of signs at the cusps. There may be a short period of time when the sun is half in one sign and half in the other… but this period of time wouldn’t last more then a few minuets… after that the Sun goes from Sag to pure Cap…. There are two reasons I believe this… Reason One… I have Moon at 29 Cancer, Venus at 29 Sag, Jupiter at 0 Cancer, and Saturn at 0 Virgo. My Moon for sure is in only Cancer… I have always struggled with shyness, and can at times be overly sensitive and moody… during my moody times I tend to retreat into a shell till I feel rejuvenated and am ready to come out again. To much attention focused on me can make me feel uncomfortable, and I can only take such attention in small doses… my inner nature is not very Leo at all. The situation is a little more complex with Venus as Venus is trine Saturn and opposite Jupiter, while at the same time being at the very end of Sag. Yes, I am conservative in love, but I am also warm and enthusiastic with those I care for… this contradiction is explained by Venus’ aspects though. My personal feeling is that the SIGN that dominates my Venus is Sag however, I am way more romantic and idealistic then the sign Cap would indicate and I REALLY adore people with Sag like characteristics, more so then people with Cap characteristics (although I do admire other Caps…this comes from Sun in Cap!). My affection for Sag-like people just screams Venus in Sag to me. With Jupiter in Cancer I do tend to get emotional about my moral principals, and I can’t sense any of Gemini’s lightness or playfulness there… it's more a nurturing desire of not wanting to hurt or be unfair to others. And with Saturn in Virgo, which is my Sun sign ruler, I tend to be a rather analytical, dissecting type of Cap… Leo just doesn’t fit… inside my mind I refuse to let pride blind me, it gets in the way of self improvement... the only time I ever seem to show any Leo characteristics is when I am angry, or worked up about something… this is because I have Mars in Leo and it is unaspected, so when this planet is ‘touched’ the reaction is pure Mars and Leo… but the rest of the time I don’t access my Mars energy much at all… Reason Two… Decans and Duads. This is a method by which each sign is separated into many sub-units, and each of these sub-units has the influence of two other signs tinting it’s expression. One of these ‘influences’ is the Decan sign and the other is the Duad sign. It is too complicated to explain the order of how this works right now, but if you are not familiar with these influences I highly recommend exploring them. They are fascinating. Anyway, Decans and Duads show that signs can be broken down into miniature ‘chunks’ where each ‘chunk’ has a very specific influence, to me that indicates that the zodiac actually quite precise, and that the boundaries between one influence and another is clear-cut… I’ll give an example… Joe has Venus in the sign Sag but in the Duad of Scorpio, so there is a hint of scorpion intensity, and longing for intimacy mixed in with the Sag traits. The Decan of Joe’s Venus is Leo, which also adds a dash of pride and charisma to Joe’s Sag Venus as well. Joe’s Venus is like a plate Sag spaghetti, with Leo sauce on it, and a sprinkling of Scorpio cheese to top it off. IP: Logged |

Sun in Capricorn is going to act different from Sun in Sagittarius, while Venus in Sagittarius acts different from Venus in Capricorn. When something is conjunct, it is often in the same sign, so I reckon a lot of Astrologers look at them as one unity. But when they are in two different signs they bring the influence of both signs into the conjunction ------------------ [Insert catchy signature here.] IP: Logged |

Lotis White:Thank you very very very much for your kind informative reply, and i am mostly familiar and actually quite into what you said. I just want to clarify something, i was talking synastry lol. My Sun, her Venus But anyway i can imagine the "hard/soft" combination in a Sun conjunction Venus. This should be very exciting as you say it Aya_and_baby: You mean it's like a blend of Capricorn and Sagittarius but in harmony? I believe so too I got my Moon in Leo, and my Ascendant is in a Sagittarius, so basically it would ease very much my Capricorn Sun to her Venus. IP: Logged |

Similar, but, also, what if you have something like 0.35 sag and 29.51 aries. Trine?IP: Logged |

That's a bit of a wide orb to be trine, no? It's closer to an inconjunct ------------------ [Insert catchy signature here.] IP: Logged |

Yeah, exactly I have a similar thing between my Pluto in Scorpio and Mars in Capricorn. They're within orb to be square and there's no denying that they are square but I think that the fact that Mars in Capricorn gives a completely different flavour to the square to a Scorpio Pluto than an Aquarius Mars would - they are both in signs that don't mess about while I imagine and Aquarius Mars would be a bit more unpredictable in that respect, but less "deadly" - and I surely go for the kill if someone pushes the right (or rather wrong) button. And am strangely enough very methodical about it On the other hand, I think that with a Pluto in Libra, that square would be hardly as volatile as when it's in its own sign... Anyway, I digress yeah, same effect but with influences of both signs

Well I was not sure if it "rolled around" (past zero) and counted as a .44 orb ... or is it 29.16 orb? Do you understand what I mean? IP: Logged |

Them being in the same element, right?I don't know, it still seems like an inconjunct to me, but flavoured with an elements that work better with each other (well it's the same element ) and might positively influence the generally negative aspect Well that's how I feel it ------------------ [Insert catchy signature here.] IP: Logged |

I believe this to be a "soft" Quincunx, as in there is indifference yet there is actually similarity in the energy. Like, you feel that you are similar, but it's not that interesting or attractive to you. Edit: I mean this is how this connection would feel like, either synastry or natal. IP: Logged |
