Normally, conjunctions bring people closer. When there are several conjunctions in a synastry chart, the people involved should have similar strengths and weaknesses and hence understand each other. I know that sometimes the conjunction is interpreted as a 'harsh' aspect that can also be a source of friction. But the friction seems to come from the intensity of being around someone who is suddenly so close to you and so 'in tune' with you.

What I find strange though is that the 'conjunction' doesn't seem to feel the same when there is a DW involved.

For example - take a person who has Libra Sun and Virgo Mercury -- and who is in a relationship with a person who has Virgo Sun/ Libra Mercury (both close conjunctions, not just by sign).
One would think that these people should be similar or compatible. I don't actually want to predict the 'compatibility' factor. But in terms of 'similarity' - in my experience they are actually not similar at all.. and not only are they not similar, but they are almost 'opposite' in body language/speech/social behaviour etc. It's as though one person is Libra-like in the place where the other person is Virgo-like and vice versa.. and both people are somewhat annoyed that the other person seems like a crooked mirror image of themselves (so they perpetually want to 'fix' them)

My question is.. Have you been in a relationship where you have such a double whammy... and do you feel like it brought you closer or.. that it actually felt out of sync as though it made you very different people?

Me - Merc Aqua/Venus Cap & Her - Merc Cap/Venus Aqua (dw conj), I found through this that we both misrepresented ourselves in our manner (Merc) with regard to what we wanted out of relationships (Venus). And it did feel like a distorted mirror after a certain time, not right away tho. In the beginning there were things in common and a lot of laughs (I made her laugh more than the other way around, better sense of humor, more extrovert) but after a while certain things that I started assuming about her based on her Merc turned out to be completely diff when I saw her Venus come more and more into play and I started to feel alienated. If we both had the same Merc and the same Venus then it'd be different but we only had merc to venus. Merc conj Venus is still a good aspect, the problem is when you go assuming things based on what you want to be true vs. what is. I've had the double whammy Merc/Venus conjunction with 2 diff people and after the 1st time I learned my lesson. With the 2nd one (a man) I stayed completely detached, even tho he wanted more, and just kept it friendly and cool cos I knew we were on different levels. He was still great to talk with and very funny. We talked all the time, couldn't get enough of each other always together, just like the friend I wrote about above. But there are a lot of conj with this one anyway,

Thanks Lonake!

That's how I feel. It's like you sense something about the person that is so much like you - but there are other sides to them.. that become obvious to you, in time.. but that you don't always like.
It's strange because, you can connect to both the planets (since it's a DW) but the planets don't connect to each other.. I think that's the problem. What i mean is.. like Cancer Moon/Gemini Mercury with Gemini Moon/Cancer Mercury... Cancer Moon connects to Mercury.. and Gemini Moon connects to the other person's Mercury.. But the Moon2Moon an Mercury2Mercury are completely different. It just doesn't 'fit'.

I have a feeling people are not clicking on this thread because they think it's a personal question lol

Interesting! I have someone in my life who has Mercury Scorpio and Sun Libra, and I have Scorpio Sun and Libra Mercury.

I sort of get what you're saying.. we feel the differences of the inconjunct rather than the similarities of the double whammy.... In my experience, it felt like we were super compatible and could talk all day and in fact, we shared many psychic ties....even just the other day I thought to myself "I have to text ***" and didn't he call me a minute later.
But there was *something* indefinable....but very important, that had me reticent to commit. We're still super loving and close, but not in a relationship way- more in a close friends always way. We hang out- he comes for dinner, we share lots. He's special... but our styles were too dissimilar to last, ultimately....despite so many awesome supposed traits....the reality of it was...out of synch.
