I am interested to find out what aspects show this; Idealism that makes perfection; Idealistic about love= romantic? About life? Those with an urge to change world, themselves? Wild, unfounded desires? Any input will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!IP: Logged |

I got that, too. I'm hopelessly idealistic. IP: Logged |

I have Mercury semi-sextile Neptune, and I'm not the romantic type. For some reason it always seems corny to me x.xIP: Logged |

I'd say it's usually aspects from uranus and neptune to the inner planets. The inner planet/house will show the point of focus for idealism. IP: Logged |

A dignified Jupiter. Jupiter in Sag or Jupiter in Pisces. Sagittarius is best. But in love - hmmmm Venus/Neptune aspects, Venus/Jupiter aspects.. IP: Logged |

I have done myers briggs and come out as a practical idealist. I have grand trines in air and the interpretation of that is idealism, also jupiter in mutual reception with neptune (pisces sag). So all of what you have mentioned plus grand trines in air. Building castles in the sky comes to mind!

Yes,Jupiter! I was having in mind those who see/dream big, those who have some aspiring point and work on it; Indeed, people who change stuff. So,I was thinking Mars/Neptune,and Fire through Jupiter; As for Neptune and Moon/Venus-I think they mainly show in relationships, and often make natives passive, they r very receptive and sensitive and most certainly have ideals, put I haven't seen much of an action. I'd also count Mars/Jupiter,but,I don't know many people with this aspect; I am willing to consider Sun/Neptune,too. When looking to famous people I often find strong Earth and Saturn.IP: Logged |

Learning to separate what is real from what is ideal is a big theme in my life. My Neptune receives an aspect from all of my planets. Neptune is conjunct moon, opposite venus/mercury, square Saturn, inconjunct sun and jupiter (an exact yod), quintile mars/uranus (exact) and sextile pluto. I don't mind the boost it gives my imagination, intuition etc, but what has been a huge problem is seeing people and situations the way that I want them to be instead of the way that they are. Then I can't believe it when ... wow ... my rose-tinted utopian world does not manifest in reality. There is no way I can stop dreaming about "the perfect this" or "the ultimate that" (God knows I have tried). The way I cope is just to "allow" myself to wallow happily in my ideals BUT I am very strict about keeping them compartmentalized from real life. If I let them spill over and attach to real people it is too devastating for me, and it is also not fair to others as they cannot possibly be expected to live up to whatever I have dreamed up about them. With my Neptune aspects I find what works best is to keep real life expectations really really low, so then chances of being disappointed are minimized. In fact, at one stage of my life I had a big sign stuck on my computer saying "DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH" to drum this into my head.

Aspects to Jupiter will make one an idealist. As will planets in Sag or Pisces. Jupiter also rules morality.IP: Logged |

I don't know! I get the Jupiter thing, but for me, to idealize something requires a measure of naivete and I feel that connotation pertains more to my Aries pals. Jupiter can be optimistic, but I always feel a bit of cynicism attached. Maybe it's just me.IP: Logged |

The initial question is a bit unclear to me, then. What distinction are you making?IP: Logged |

Aha-- do you mean where do we find where individuals form their ideals as opposed to what conditions would create an idealist?IP: Logged |

Yes,those who have practically one idea in their mind, and always follow it,as some kind of guiding star-and they work on it,not just fanasizing. I suppose we could link it to the principles,eg ideal: justice,so one who is judge, and does nothing which would compromise that priniple=ideal. Or,having in heart some ideal what would be perfect partner, not seeing that atributes in every person, but just knowing s/he isn't the one,so they keep searching on. No illusions. Jupiter fits!IP: Logged |
