I just read somewhere that your soul evolves according to aries being the youngest and leo being the oldest.

Im a taurus and I was told I was a "3rd grader"
I feel I am a very old soul. Is there any truth to this?

The 12 signs of the zodiac are like 12 astrological grade levels. The older signs are
Leo (12th grade) Virgo (11th grade) Cancer (10th grade) Aquarius (9th grade) Pisces (8th grade) Capricorn (7th grade)
The more youthful signs are
Scorpio (6th grade) Sagittarius (5th grade) Libra (4th grade) Taurus (3rd grade) Gemini (2nd grade) Aries (1st grade)

I wouldn't put it in terms of young soul or old soul.

But there is a progression from focusing on the *self* (like a child) to focusing on family/friends/social network (like an adult) and then focusing on the entire world/its problems/ the 'big picture' stuff - life/death matters, and so on (like an elderly person).

The Sun is not enough to take into account.

It depends on how many planets you have in personal/social or transpersonal signs & houses.
If you add it all up, it can tell you something about the maturity level of the person, imo

Also - I think every planet has its own maturity level.

You might see a person who has everything in personal signs and houses.. other than say Mars in Aquarius or Pisces.
Their Mars would still point to an area where they are mature and understanding.

PS. Generally, I've noticed that in synastry I feel close to those who have a similar personal-social-transpersonal balance, to mine.

I'm not sure how they came to the conclusion that Leo is the oldest.

This is the traditional astrological take:

Personal Signs:

Aries - Focus on Self
Taurus - Focus on Self-Love
Gemini - Focus on their intellect
Cancer - Focus on themselves and people very close to them, close friends and close family (this bridges the way to the social signs)

Social Signs:

Leo - Focus on entertaining others
Virgo - Focus on helping others practically
Libra - Focus on communicating with others/ sharing ideas etc.
Scorpio - Focus on 'feeling' others - understanding their psychology, what makes people tick.

Transpersonal Signs:

Sagittarius - Focus on travel, world-issues, politics, humanitarian issues - things that affect the "world"
Capricorn - Focus on death and taxes. The way that the two are connected.. The way money/resources make the world go round.
Aquarius - Focus on human kinship. The entire world is Aquarius' friend. Aquarius connects everyone (from all corners) through communication.
Pisces - Focus on spirituality - death - the rise of the spirit - saying goodbye to the physical

The Pisces that I know are very weak. I know that this doesn't apply to everyone but I'm just saying.

I mean emotionally. They are weak. But Being Pisces, being a water sign and all that jazz, I figure if they could somehow work out their problems, they'd all turn into psychics.

Sun is not the most accurate way to determine this. There are other things that are more accurate for this like NN and house placements.

And four personal signs should be renamed the four D.I.Y signs IMO. In my experience, I've seen the energies of those four signs manifest as being more inclined to rely on themselves instead of other in their individual areas as opposed to being solely focused on themselves. For example, Gemini is the do-it-yourself learner as opposed to its counterpart Sagittarius who prefers being in the classroom and getting the credentials (degrees).

Perceived emotional weakness can really be strength. Pisces feels/knows/understands EVERYTHING. It can be a lot to handle. Plus a water sign isn't going to act rationally about emotions like an Air sign would (which is why people think Air signs are "unemotional" which isn't true... they are just able to be rational about them).

And you have to take the whole chart into account. They could have some pretty bad aspects to their Moon.

Fire signs would be the oldest and most evolved.

Next would be air.

Water

Youngest and least aware. Earth signs.

The Ascendant plays a role here as well not just your birth sign.

Life and learning, evolving is cycle and so does house system. So if aries first, pisces is last. Pisces is the last sign of zodiac so it means last step.

I kinda agree. They kind to get exalted in astrology for being the most evolved, but many of my Pisces Sun friends get stuck on things and can't move on... I think most people can't handle their own Pisces energy. I'm just fortunate to have found an outlet for my Pisces Moon via astrology and metaphysics.

Vesta:

Vesta asteroid is the "keeper of the flame," guardian of the truth and other spiritual and cultural values. Vesta is of special importance to "old souls" who have a sense of mission and purpose, who "hold the space" or "create a context" for what is of great value. In synastry, Vesta is a comfortable hearth of gentle warmth and good feelings. In relocation astrology, I've observed that old souls like to be on their Vesta local space or MC lines, feel a sense of mission and purpose there, as well as a warm fuzzy enjoyment of the little things in life.

A guy i knew on another forum said that his friend was a member of an occult group like the OTO, and they had access to Christ's birth chart and he was a leo.

The "Avataric gates of descent" are all located in the middle of the fixed signs.

For all our goofiness, c.ockiness and swagger, leos do have a really strong core of inner wisdom which makes me wonder if you're really a leo cuz if you were you'd know this already. The sign leo and the sun are associated with creation, the age of leo was one of the most important historical ages of civilization.

If I may add my words.

It's linear and 3d thinking, old/young, good/bad etc.. Duality. Which is merely one way of looking at things. If you believe in incarnation and free will, life planned out, contracts with others then it's all about the experiences we have chosen to work out in this life, better said reality because if time doesn't exist no previous life exist, it's only the eternal NOW. So, say for instance I would need a strong Gemini and playful mercury to make contact with people if I have chosen to be of service to them. I needed inner conflict to understand what others are going through. Don't know if that's such a good example. It's about experience and the way we go about. Every sign can be enlightened in their way or wise, old or young. Why does that matter anyway? Is old better? If there is only experience in the now there is no good or bad so no young or old. If really we are eternal (and oh yes we are ) then all the signs are ONE. Together they are complete.

So, I do not think you can determine this from a chart. But hey, that's me. And I love it, yeah I love it!

I have Venus in Leo so you would say I am wise in relationship department well .. think again! *chuckles*

By now I'm almost certain that such a thing can't be determined by the charts. It would make sense to me if an old soul could be any sign as it seems a certainty that they'd (intentionally or otherwise) experience all of them, and it seems doubtful to me that it would be in any specific order (just as scouts usually don't earn their merit badges in any order) as if the signs were themselves college (or even occult rankings) degrees or colored belts in some dojo measuring achievement and skill (or, sometimes, just greasing the right palms). That is they could start off or (a long time later) end up as Leo, Pisces, or something far more specific (and maybe start off that way and come back to it later).

I'm even more certain that it doesn't matter anyway. Old people can be crotchety fools stuck in their ways (and thus unable to progress), something that I think "affirming that I'm an old soul" would make more probable than it would otherwise be, and the young can have a clarity and lack of jaded experience and the bias that comes with it that is humbling to those many times a child's age. (You could say it's a soul thing, but what if it is?)

Having thought about this for years now, and questioning those interested in it, I believe that the desire to know if one is an old or wise soul is also an ego thing, and something I'd attribute to the young trying to be older than they are and reasons to claim what they know is wise and true as they're unable to justify or articulate their beliefs so try to find a way that they "don't have to as you wouldn't understand anyway." (That, and also to get a gold star from some self-proclaimed authority figure they want to impress that goes around telling others if they're "old souls" or not.) I didn't think so at first, but I do now.

I feel like my 12 year old son is a very ld soul. Even when he was very small, he was wise!

He is born 21.12.2003 but I have never done his chart -I must learn more about it because he's a fascinating little person!
