One theory said people who lack an element may end up excelling in areas represented by that element, to sort of make up for the "deficiency".
I don't really feel that, since Fire stands for physical activity and I am one of the least physical people I know.
I often feel detached from my own body, like I don't know how it works.
I was terrible in gymnastics while in school, and I was overweight for most of my life so far(am 22).
The only sports I enjoy are swimming and tennis/bedminton/ping-pong.

One other area that Fire represents is "performance", I take it, because this site mentioned Rudolph Valentino as an example of "no Fire" and he ended up being in show business.

Another thing I can say about me is that I am one of the least vulgar people you can meat. I generally feel repulsed by anything "messy". Especially sexual innuendos and stuff like that. I am not sexual at all.
I guess I just don't care about stuff like that.
I am very mind over matter in everything.
I also noticed that I have a very hard time getting along with people who have lots of Fire, or even just a little Fire.
My best friend only has Uranus in Sagittarius as Fire, and my sister has Jupiter in Aries, and they are a lot more energetic and enthusiastic than I am.
They're both Air Suns, though. I'm a Pisces Sun.

I count each planet equally when assessing quantities of elements and Modes.

Meaning I don't think the Sun counts 3 times more than Pluto, because each planet represents a side of you, so this seems silly.
I have Sun, Mercury, Venus, North Node in Pisces, Moon, Mars, Jupiter in Gemini, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune in Capricorn, Pluto in Scorpio, AC in Virgo.
So I count that as 4 Water, 3 Air, 3 Earth.

Some of the things I think suit me in terms of having no Fire, aside from what I mentioned already, are:
- physically passive;
- hard to get enthusiastic;
- not naturally optimistic or positive;
- not especially outdoorsy;
- very introverted, I prefer time alone to time spent in the company of others, unless they are 2 or 3 people I know well;
- not accustomed to changes, which is weird, since I'm all Mutable.

I can relate to everything in your post.

Plus I am strongly Saturnian, so that makes it even more difficult to be "firey" ie optimistic, funny, enthusiastic, dynamic, etc.

I've been struggling with depression and apathy for like half of my life, so the theory that says people with voids tend to overcompensate is not true for me.

I only have the Moon in a Fire house, the 5th, but I don't feel like it helps. Other than that I also have Uranus Neptune in the 9th, but this too, doesn't seem to help, since those are outer planets and not particularly strong in my chart.

In my opinion, Fire void is the hardest void to have.

I have been over weight all my life... I'm 5'7" and I have never been below 150 lbs.

I hate physical activity, I love the ideal of it.

I have been depressed since I have been 9-10 yrs old (and I'm 32 now)

I have a BS in Music Education, BS in Architecture, MS in Music Composition and working on a PhD in Industrial Engineering (and all I have in Air is ASC and Pluto... been a life time student...?)

I feel like I have no enthusiasm (and my mom says this about me... but people make comments to me that I do more in a week than most people do in a year?)

I HATE being outdoors... unless it's in Colorado (no humidity)

All the other planets... Earth- Moon, Saturn, NN
Water- Venus, Uranus and MC
Air- ASC, Pluto
Fire- Sun, Merc, Mars, Neptune and Jupiter...

I feel like my Sun conj Neptune kind of takes over my fire. Also, I have Sun, merc and Mars Progressed to Cappy- with Prog Venus in Sag... I DEFINITELY feel that!

I also have never been a traveler until my Prog Venus went into Sag...

not too keen on the outdoors either,

I am physically not fast/athletic and did better at sports where coordination was prized more than speed (eg. I was a good goal shooter in netball, played basketball (I am reasonably tallish but was never fast), good at volleyball, badminton, tennis etc).
Actually I hate exercise in general but don't mind team sports.
I believe fire signs enjoy the running/jogging ... sooo not me!

But I get along really well with fire signs BECAUSE they energise me and bring out that zazz in me. I go a little bit hyper around them (except Leo suns, just never really been close to any Leos and find them hard to talk to.. not that I want it to be hard) I make better friends with Air and Fire than I do Earth and Water, though I am predominantly Earth and Water, with my only Air sign being Moon (and Air sign Rising). Akso have an Air sign Chiron and NN. Though I tend to be able to have more D&Ms with Earth/water people. So I guess it depends on my mood too !

I have no planets in 1st house, none in 7th and 3 planets in 9th - Moon, Saturn, Pluto. So I wonder if this helps bridge the gap as well.

I don't deal with with sudden social changes, like random drop ins etc. Puts me out.

I like being outdoors but am not particualrly active, though when I actually go out and do active things I feel really good.

But I get overly enthusiastic about things sometimes when I am excited. People aruond me can often be a dampener on this, which brings me down again. I don't know what it is. I suppose I am a bit pessimistic when things aren't working out, obstacle after obstacle, but I would guess a lot of people would reach that point.

Personally I love fire and fire people! Then again almost half my chart is composed of fire.

Although I can relate a little when you say you have a hard time understanding people with a plethora of that element or someone who has a sun sign in that element. I'm the same way to an extent. For the life of me cannot get along with Aquas (they love me though smh), save for 1 very special person. Libras are give and take, but love Geminis. Then again, they are semisextile to my sun.

Okay, let's see...
I always hated sports in school, even though I've always been one of the best in athletics (was horrible in gymnastics though!)
BUT I love to walk! I walk at least 2-3 hours every day. If I don't get outside once a day I go crazy. Love hiking! And riding my bike.

I also hate vulgarity! I sometimes like to freak out my Sagittarius mate with sexual innuendos but that's just for fun and only ok if I do it ;-P

-It's really easy to get me excited over anything. I find everything way too fascinating. I have my depressed, moody phases but who doesn't?

-I think I need to spend as much time with others as I do on my own. I don't mind being alone though.
I would never go to a club by myself.

-in recent years I've grown to be one of the most extroverted people ever. I used to be a introverted, shy teenager but forced myself to open up

-optimistic. I always think everything will work out just fine. I dropped out of highschool some years ago and now I'm college! So it usually works out real nice

- I am a hypochondriac when I'm not busy with something

-I need change regularly or I'll get depressed. Maybe that's really your issue too?

BTW Pinkie...you were one year before me. So we have the same generational planets!

Also have to say that I do not miss the air in my chart, have to say though those with no fire you don't know what you're missing! hehehe
