Okay so I've heard that when Venus oppositions Pluto in your natal chart, you tend to swing back and forth playing either Venus or Pluto, Venus more often, and Pluto when in relationships. I've also heard that (when you have this placement) you attract people (of the opposite sex) that are very "plutonian like". What exactly would they be like (ex: traits, behavior, etc.)?IP: Logged |

I have this placement, but I'm actually very easygoing in relationships unless I'm betrayed. If I'm lied to about something serious or if I'm cheated on, I become very vengeful. Yes, this placement does attract Plutonian types: intense, jealous, dominating, passionate, etc. The problem is I can't stand jealous and dominating people. Lol. IP: Logged |

I forgot to add that I share this placement and I think that houses are important in my case - I usually end up being Pluto, since it's in my first and my personal planets are in my seventh.IP: Logged |

quote: What helps for Venus – Pluto victims is to stop trying to be liked, turn off the charm, dress down and demurely and to stop trying to control people and situations with appearances and affections.
Actually - for the record - This does not help at all. I tried it. It only gets worse. You have to acknowledge both Venus (your own sexual attractiveness) and Pluto (the psychological/emotional depth of you.. everything beyond the Venusian image). Following this advice is simply being Scorpionic.. This is what Pluto in Scorpio feels comfortable doing... Being as ugly as possible on the surface (no make-up, no pretty clothes). This is equated to being "real" - It is also the opposite of being Venusian. But you can't take a *side* in the opposition. That's the whole point. So you can't go with Pluto and say "scr.ew it!" - "scr.ew my image" - "scr.ew my clothes" - "scr.ew my money" - "scr.ew everything superficial... because here in the underworld I don't need it anyway" Unfortunately we are stuck with both Venus and Pluto! Exactly!! quote: So then, how does Venus – Pluto work in practice? We must first consider the key themes of the energies at play: Venus is concerned with being attractive; how we attract others and too how we make ourselves attractive to them. Then of course we have Pluto. Much more difficult to understand, because there is no easy awareness of Plutonic tenets in the human consciousness. Pluto is hidden, forceful but in an insidious and indirect manner, deep – in the sense of being profound and for all of these reasons, he supercharges with invisible power. The symptoms of Venus-Pluto therefore are an obsession with appearance, in women especially this can manifest as the type of person who dresses in a noticeable manner, and usually one that makes a feature of her ‘best attributes’ in some way.

Hi There are quite a few articles on venus pluto aspects on the web, astrofix website has a good article on it. The chirotic one seems rather subjective/biased in comparison. like the other poster said chirotics advice of dressing down, turning off the charm really doesn't work, have tried it and all that does is lower your self esteem. I have this aspect by progression, would not wish it on anyone!!!I have even gone to the extent of working out when it disappears, it has made me afraid of relationships due to the passion (and the repercussions) involved whereas I never used to be like this. It depends on the axis too, like mine is 10th to 4th , another one on here is 1st to 7th etc so the house interpretations are important too. I guess if you have it across the 7th it is even more important as relationships are the focus, at least with mine relationships aren't a focus/priority in my life so its not a vitally important aspect in the chart.

Forgot to add my sister has venus in libra conjunct pluto in libra and is very successful. So the opposition is the hard aspect and the conjunction is actually quite a good aspect. It seems like the conjunction acts a magnet of attraction for others but the opposition does not work by attracting only, the opposition seems to involve attraction and repulsion. Read on another post that someone fell in love when venus opposite pluto so it can bring good things too. I just equate it with Glenn Close's character parts and must stop doing that. IP: Logged |
