Well there is this friend I have, Sagittarius with a Scorpio moon. She's pretty much in love with her boyfriend who is a Gemini with a Taurus moon. Their suns are opposite...their moons are opposite... This is significant, I believe. So, in charts, I heard that the opposition is a tense or hard aspect. Creates challenges? Is it sort of like the square? But, what does this do in synastry or in the love field? They loved each other from the first time they spoke! Now, three years later, they're finally together. That would be so weird, and yet, it would be so kick-ass if their Ascendants were in opposition!IP: Logged |

Sometimes is pure fun to look at synastries; How everything clicks... I remember one couple with gal Sun in Scorp and stellium and boy with Sag Sun and Scorp stellium... Or stellium of one conj the Asc of another (and that was practically the only meeting point) IP: Logged |

There's this one girl who I'm interested in. She's an Aquarius with a Leo moon. They square my Scorpio sun (but my Capricorn moon is all alone). So perhaps the square is attraction while opposition is like...the real bring-you-together kind of force? IP: Logged |

Square has that sexual underlining... It seems to me,with every placement. It's like don't go there situation and u go there, cuz u must, insane attraction. Oppo creates some form of mystic surrounding: S/He is not like me,I wonder what they're hiding there... Conj brings lot of harmony, safe sea,sb who is naturally challenge-prone,doesn't swim well. A have a friend, who is,like me Libra Asc,and therefore Aries Asc,said to me once-I like them when they bug me... Need for fight. All her relationships r filled with squares. And,she, has some fantastic aspects, trines between Moon/Venus,Mars/Venus.IP: Logged |

I had this with my ex fiancé. I was cancer sun with leo moon, he was cap sun with aqua moon. Also had nodes opposed, Dsc rulers (moon/venus) opposed and Asc rulers (mars/saturn) conjunct. Tension or Attraction? Both in bucketloads.

I think opposites attract. However, there MUST be similarities or it will be too much. You have to have places where you are the same, ime.IP: Logged |

I love oppositions. But there also needs to be some softer aspects too so it doesn't all go to hell. I have a Virgo asc/Taurus sun/Taurus Mercury and the first person I ever loved had a Pisces asc/Scorpio sun/Scorpio Mercury. I have an Aries Venus and he had a Libra Mars. The guy I currently love has a Scorpio moon - I have an Aquarius moon. There's a square there, and I think the signs go well together then most people would think. His moon is also in opposition to my Sun. But there are also nicer aspects to balance it out. I think it's the Venus/Uranus opposition that messes with us in the end. He also has a Mars in Libra as well. IP: Logged |

I experience now the opposition sun/sun, mercury/mercury, jupiter/jupiter, venus/moon and venus square venus. Me like it. The way I see it, square is tention, the energies don't mix, and that can underline sexual attraction but there is never a sense of understanding. While with oppositions you are attracted to something you do not have, therefore you need it to be more complete. It's better than square in synastry. Just my point of view. IP: Logged |

JFK, that's so interesting that you say that your first boyfriend was a Scorpio Sun/ Mercury with a Libra Mars... Mine had those same placements but with a Leo Moon and Sag Venus... I was 17/18 at the time. What's also interesting is that we're both with Scorpio Moon guys right now... I know we were born just one day apart, but I find that kind of synchronicity fascinating Anyway, I, like many others have mentioned, also very much enjoy oppositions but feel that there must be some harmony or "sameness" mixed in for it to work. Oppositions create attraction by creating friction and fascination. I have many oppositions in my chart, so I find this kind of energy to be exciting and exhilarating, creating a kind of curiosity, as in "ohh this person is kind of the opposite from me; I must probe his mind to figure out why." While this is good for attraction, there still need to be some conjunctions and trines in order for me to be able to understand this person and feel a kind of "kinship" with them. If those aspects are lacking, then usually they end up getting on my nerves and I conclude that they are simply too alien for me to try to understand, and not worth my time. IP: Logged |
