I rushed(head first) into a relationship with a Leo last year that looked good on paper but just wasn't...His Sun(Leo)formed a close trine to my sun(Sag) His Moon(Sag) formed a conjunction to my Uranus(Sag). His Mercury(Leo) formed a trine to my Jupiter(Sag) My Mercury(Capricorn) formed a trine to his Jupiter(Virgo) His venus(Cancer)formed a trine to my Venus(Scor) My Mars(Libra) formed a square to his Venus(Cancer) His Mars(Libra) formed a conjuction to my Mars. His Uranus formed a conjuction to my Venus(Scorpio) The Leo was invited by a Friend(Libra) and upon our first meeting, I just thought "wow" but played the attraction down since I wasn't so sure it was reciprocated. Later on, during the evening, it was revealed that he himself felt the same way. And that he also played it down because he assumed that I wouldn't be feeling him either. To make the long story short, our "togetherness" was very rocky from the get go: Power struggles, stubborness, disagreements , stand-offs etc and this was all within the first month:We just could not get on the same page. Things finally dissolved a few months later as we both felt that it was just not working out the way that we had anticipated. I ran into him again recently and though the sparks were not as powerful, I realised that I still have a spot for him but could never again be involved in another thing with him. I've never really considered Leo as a potential match up for me, not to say that I consciously discriminate against them, but I've never seen them as an intellectual sign; which for me, is a prerequisite for any relationship that I get into. I don't know how many times I've read that "Leo and Sag" are a good match but my experience says otherwise: I am more likely to end up with another Sag(90%) or Aries(80%) then a Leo.
There are some relationships that I read of that look good on paper but just aren't.
What relationship have you been in that intially looked good on paper, but ended up being a miss? IP: Logged |

I agree with you...Some relationships may seem good or great on paper and later on it is proved the opposite. OR the other way round! Some synastries may seem bad or not a good match, but they prove to be really good ! So? The thing is we should do what we feel and wherever it leads... IP: Logged |

I dated a guy on synastry alone and it was the worst thing I've ever entered. He was so possessive and I felt smothered, ugh. Moon in Taurus, Venus in Scorpio and Mars in Libra. His Mars in my 4th house is what killed it, I'm sure.IP: Logged |

I am an aries so you would think I go well with Sag, I don't find they initiate intellectual conversations at all. They like socialising, travel, sex and parties but I found them shallow/SUPERFICIAL and have had 3 relationships with them, I have venus trine saturn so work to make them last. The 3 sagittarius without exception were so into themselves they lacked the air element to make a relationship work. This has been the case on a friendship level too. I do have one planet in virgo so this may sound blunt but that and 2 pisces planets square the sag so all the signs need to be looked into. The sagittarius I do respect are winston churchill, nicki minaj, Jay Z because these are ones who are not boring, on the pulse of the times and don't go round criticising other signs. I do get along well with Leos and DO FIND THEM INTELLECTUAL. I am well educated and qualified so am justified in what is being said.

Yeah i don't really believe the part where astrology says fire plus fire = happiness. Personally, as a leo, I have problems dealing with Sag people/Aries people. Gemini included. It's probably because I have a very earthy chart. :\IP: Logged |

I completely agree with you. I mean yes Leos are pretty full of themselves but we do have brains that think.

I have a weird example of this. A couple that I know are getting divorced after about 10 years marriage, having grown bored of each other and they are drifting apart. No challenge left. She has Sun trine Moon in her chart and his sun trines both her sun and her moon. I.e. grand trine between the luminaries. IP: Logged |

I agree completely - my relationship with my ex husband was hell on earth (for the most part) for 16 years, but according to synastry and magi, we're a match made in heaven.A couple of the guys I've dated since look awesome on paper but nothing ever came of any relationship. Weird... IP: Logged |

I met people with whom I had a nice synastry, but there was no attraction on my part, or on theirs. With some, I couldn't even remain friends. I have friends with whom I get along very well, despite the hard aspects in synastry. With my best friend, we have a double-whammy of Saturn square Sun and Mercury, but we support each other. There is some criticism, but it's constructive and none of us takes it to heart. I think it depends on your level of maturity and your expectations from relationships in general. If you want to just have fun, trines and sextiles are excellent. If you want to grow, you need some squares and oppositions to push you beyond your comfort zone. A few years back I was in my longest relationship, which was very nice and fun (think Moon conjunct Jupiter dw, Venus-Mars dw and much more). At some point it begun to bother me that we could never argue. There were problems, but we never faced them because we had so much fun together. Yes, it's nice to have trines, sextiles and plenty of Jupiter action, but personally I can handle some red lines in the charts. They don't scare me anymore. Not even Saturn. What would scare me is lack of aspects, good or bad. That would be like dating an alien. ------------------ *previously Izo* Every day is a battle with yourself, one you can never win, nor lose, nor abandon IP: Logged |

My thoughts exactly, that conjunction and opposition totally kill it, plus the mars + venus square IP: Logged |

This is fiesty.... Venus/Mars aspects are always fiesty... and you're talking about a person who already had a Venus/Mars square in natal which you activated. I don't think it's a Sun sign thing. I used to think I'm not well matched to Leo men.. but now I'm in love with a Leo man.. He writes a lot (in his line of work)... and is very Mercurial.. with a lot in Gemini/Virgo. quote: I've never seen them as an intellectual sign; which for me, is a prerequisite for any relationship that I get into.
It depends on the chart. I'm an Aries btw IP: Logged |

i clicked on the topic meaning to click on another one but i couldn't help overhear...just because the aspects are not 'challenging' doesn't mean they're positive for what it is that you're expecting in a relationship.. some people enjoy challenged thus, enjoy their squares. you, on the other hand, i don't know how advanced you are in astrology but any aspect to uranus (if it isn't the trine) is surely to be felt and not at all remotely predictable. ;your venus and moon/uranus conjunctions. my mother, she has uranus in conjunction with my venus and moon and i wish her death, but almost TOO generously! -sometimes not enough, imo. You HAVE to look at the natals first and how people are utilizing them and what they need/are looking for. You just looked at a few trines and a sexy attraction aspect and said "Good!" lolIP: Logged |

Yes, so agree.I noticed that your MARSes were CONJUNCT. And the venus.. Generally, this might've been good for one person - the person who has easy aspects in their own natal. But, for the other, perhaps they have difficult to very difficult aspects in their own natal that are being constantly triggered by the conjunction. I see that both of your marses then were square their own, and eachothers venuses. Like a bit of a tension "loop". You say about power struggles - etc? Sounds like mars to me Can we see the synastry charts?

i don't think mars is about power strugglesmars is 'baby watch me and how fast i clean this kitchen' and the conjunction is like 'oh, no you don't! not if i have anything to do with it! watch me and how quick i mop this floor!' and then 'ohhhhhhh! you call that mopping!? you think THAT'S mopping!?.. i bet you i'll clean that whole entire bathroom with my tongue, just watch!' and then pluto of course, would be the one to then throw his legs up on the coffee table n crack his knuckles and laugh inside because it worked like a charm. Well, it's about boundaries, and who is in charge, and about "you cannot boss me", and I do what I want, it's bout asserting oneself as an individual (ie, not compromising., it's about anger.. etc It might be about 'baby watch me and how fast i clean this kitchen' providing it's not square mars, or the moon, or opposite saturn, or sqaure uranus.... etc IN THE NATAL CHART. One person might handle their marss in a more manageable way than the other.
