Is this a Taurus Venus thing?Today I had to sit in a meeting with a man next to me who smelt soooooooooooooo -- sooooooooooo bad.. Really bad. I felt like leaving and couldn't! lol It was just horrible. I felt like throwing up. Other people seemed to put up with it. I genuinely cannot stand this kind of thing. Everything has to smell right and feel right. If I am not comfortable in a situation - I have to fix it. I do not want to put up with it. For instance - a person might get a splinter in their shoe and 'keep on keepin on' - walking home... I wouldn't. I'd stop at the nearest bathroom and get it out. When my shoe was hurting my foot... I went and bought 2 pairs of socks to protect my foot. I have male friends and their reaction to this kind of thing is always to say "You're such a *girl*!!" LOL I don't know whether it's just a typical female thing... or what -- But I just cannot put up with anything that makes me uncomfortable (physically). Comfort means a lot to me. The environment also means a lot to me - if things around me are not clean & comfy and do not smell nice (or at least smell *natural* -- like I don't mind horse dung.. BUT - I do mind the smell of plastic shoes mixed with human sweat mixed with cheap deodorant) -- I feel horrible and have to find the nearest exist. You'll never catch me dead in a restaurant with uncomfortable seating or crappy food or bad music. I wouldn't care if the best looking, most attractive, nicest man in the world asked me out to such a place - I'd decline... because it wouldn't *feel* good. My comfort always comes first. Also, as much as I care about fashion and I love matching clothes/scarfs/hats -- if I found something that looks great on me, but FEELS uncomfortable - I would NEVER buy it or wear it. Ever! But apparently many girls do, and they put up with it. I'm the same with shoes. I only buy shoes I find comfortable. (The example above happened with shoes which my mum had bought as a present.. When I buy myself shoes - they are always perfect for my foot) Can anyone relate? IP: Logged |

I have the sensitive smell part, but no Taurus to speak of. I always assumed it was my sixth house stellium, b/c if I don't leave the area or find the smell and fix it, I'll get a headache.I could deal with a splinter though. I had one for about 3 days this winter and didn't even realize it until it was infected and my guy friend that is a carpenter said, "Uhh, you have a splinter and you need to get that out NOW." lol. Ooooh! *Totally* a Taurus thing! The first time I had my chart interpreted, the astrologer told me I'm deeply affected by smells and textures. That's Taurus. Boy, was she right! Yup, I have a real thing about smells, and I love the feel of silks and cashmere. I blame it on my Taurus ASC.IP: Logged |

I'm sensitive to pretty much everything physically and have yet to figure out exactly what in my chart points to that.I'm hypersensitive though. I'd usually be the first one to smell things (like food being prepared or body odours) and bad hygiene upsets me, mostly because I can smell it so well compared to most who don't smell it if they don't think about it. I can even as much as smell exactly what is being used while preparing food just by getting a whiff of the air around. I've no Taurus to speak of. My Venus though rules my 6th house which is in Taurus, but is in 1st house Sagittarius conjunct Neptune. I do have Jupiter and Mars in my 2nd house, not sure if that could have anything to do with it. ------------------ [Insert catchy signature here.] IP: Logged |

Yesss! Taurus moon here, and pretty much all my personal progressed planets are in Taurus. It applies to everything, but mostly to close relationships - if I don't like the way that person smells, it's a no-go for me IP: Logged |

Also true about the comfort part - I was away for a few days in an opulent house by the seaside, and after settling in I complained about the pillows not being made from actual feathers while my mom was staring at me in disbelief IP: Logged |

Def a Taurus thing...Various smells have a strong emotional and psychological effect on me. I can even remember certain smells from years ago and they usually remind me of some events & places that are dear to me...The smell of the sea and of food spices especially. Taurus Moon here...IP: Logged |

Oh yeah.. I'm VERY sensitive to smell. I also can't stand too strong of a perfume/cologne on people, makes me nauseated. I have a stellium in the 2nd, Taurus Vertex & NN, and Solstice Taurus Moon @ 26°. Though the stellium alone would probably do it lol.------------------ "Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise." — Maya Angelou IP: Logged |

yes i can relate.i recently worked for a year and trained someone who didn't wear deodorant. i literally had to teach him how to use computer programs from about 2 metres away or ask my colleagues to. that could be considered unprofessional but i also think that not looking after body hygiene is unprofessional too especially when you have to work with a lot of people or ANY person, even if it just one other person for that matter lol i cant stand bad BO and own about 12 designer perfumes at a time.. no cheap stuff. i wear perfume almost every day. i feel naked without it. and i always notice how other people smell - that is probably a bad image but i dont go around trying to smell them i just notice it as they walk past. now i think of it people who i know dont smell nice i actually dont breathe in until they have walked past me and so has their waft haha. oh that sounds mean, but its not obvious and i never really thought about it until now. also i can smell something that can bring memories back from being a kid.. but i think thats just how olfactory senses work for everyone regardless of astrological influence. restaurants need to have awesome food. i also have a knack for ordering good wine hehe i am not too bothered by music - unless it is truly loud and horrendous to my ears - because usually i am too busy chatting to notice. i own a lot of high heels that have been worn for only 5 minutes. my flats or flip flops are what wear out lol. if i have to wear heels i take them off at the first possible chance. i prefer comfortable clothes , try to keep it fashionable but am not a fashion victim .. one day when i earn more money lol.. i will start buying expensive fashionable AND comfortable clothes.... one day lol. at the moment comfort is paramount.. nothing too tight either. skinny jeans are not my favourite jeans to wear though i do own a couple of pairs that i rarely wear because they are too uncomfortable. i like my bootleg jeans.. good fashionable cut but comfy. own heaps of scarves... --taurus venus, taurus sun.

I think this is a primitive human thing tbh. If we look at the concept of pheromones, then it makes sense that we would be drawn to or repelled by the smell of other people. We can be drawn or repelled by someone's natural body smell, which may be defined as a 'bad' smell by one and attractive by another. It may be though that certain signs or astrological combinations are more sensitive to smells, but I'd be more inclined to say that it is more to do with how strong primitive instinct is, or how aware of their instincts a person is, which may or may not have anything to sdo with their sign. From my limited knowledge of astrology, I would say that the earth signs may well be more tuned into their sense of smell due to the proposed sensuality of the earth signs. But the other signs have their own sense of instinct, whether it be through the emotions, or the the mind, or comboinations thereof, so again, I would conclude that it is individual sensitivity to the particular sense organ in question. Interesting query though. IP: Logged |
