i have to go from memory as the site is down.
Something like the 12th is like swimming underwater for Mars, something that his firey nature is not used to and the anger dissipates in the waters so is not felt as a sharp thrust.

Other aspects to mars may alter this such as a trine to jupiter would assist greatly or a square to pluto would cause problems with over and under assertion and getting the balance right.

I wrote on other post about findings on all planets in 12th, here would like to concentrate on good and bad for mars.

Consider the case of a 12th house Mars. Mars is the archetypal warrior, representing the ability to set boundaries, be self-assertive, get angry when necessary. People with a 12th house Mars often have difficulty going after what they want. They’re outwardly gentle and agreeable, for the most part lacking Mars’ sharp attacks. You can cross them several times and get no reaction, but one day, someone, possibly you, will receive a full-blown Mars explosion. The 35-year-old computer programmer will disappear and a 2-year-old in tantrum will take his place. But the person acting out won't know what hit you. He may have sent you vicious emails, vilified your name in the public square, but when it’s time for an apology, he’ll brush it off. To truly regret his actions, his 12th house Mars would have to reach consciousness first.

Joan Crawford had a 12th house mars and that did not stop her going after what she wanted!

Mars is in my 12th house, and #1 and #3 definitely hit on me. #2, not too sure about, but I do have a n.Mars/n.Venus sextile.

I have learned over time to drop some of the more negative aspects, like the "chip on the shoulder" thing, and also to better control my anger. No easy feat, when your Mars is in Aries!

Definitely have had secret enemies. People who were so nice to my face, later on turned out to stab me in the back like Caesar on the Ides of March. Also wanted to be a nurse, because I do have compassion for those who are sick and suffering. It didn't work out for me, though.

Don't know about the whole manipulation thing. I try not to do anything like that, and if I do, then it's pretty unconscious of me. I do love working behing the scenes. Intently dislike being up on any stage, or in front of people.

Thanks for your reply, guess there aren't that many people who would own up to having mars in 12th, I have it and it has been an area to work on, have posted before on this but it seems this one runs and runs!!

the picture in this link above is me when I get angry, the red representing anger and the swimming bubbles showing it all coming out.

I go swimming when angry too!

Well the 12th house is the doorway to the next dimension. It represents the womb and death.
As such ,it is not earth bound and comfortable on the earth as the other houses are.
This makes a planet here have an extra hard challenge as the person lives ON the earth obviously.
Mars in the planet of the drive. When it has one foot in the next dimension drive will not be easy.
It will have to be forcefully turned outward.
This would apply to all drives whether they be with anger, aggression or sexuality.
That is my take as I meditate on the 12th house.
What do you all think?

I have this placement. I get frustrated easily when I don't have a outlet.cin the past I didn't even know why I was frustrated and the answer was so simple but to me I was caught up in the emotion that I couldn't see the solution.

I think in the 12th house we get lost in our emotions and blind ourselves to the solution. It could be so simple, just get your needs met but we are more caught in desire rather then feeding it and when it goes unmet, we become compulsive.

I love football and I love lifting weights, it's a deep rooted passion of mine. I want to coach someday just cuz I love it so much. When I don't get my outlet I do get frustrated and feel lost. I have to ground myself because I can easily get lost.

Now that I have matured, I know the gift of 12th house mars. It's in ability to lose yourself and yOur passions, to let them consume you and make you a completely different person. Even with sex, I rather it be passionate and intense, not just some random one night thing. I know how to make a woman dissolve her boundaries and get lost in both our passions.

Gotta be strict with yourself here, don't deny yourself and who you are, embrace it and see your own gift cause as human beings we are all gifted individually.

I used to hate this house but I don't anymore because it makes you blind to the physical and awakened in the more spiritual and emotional vibes of life. Dive into your passions and get lost there, doing what you love and feeling infinite levels of desire that's what I learned from it

About the assertion thing, o am assertive. As a kid I got into alot of fights my temper was horrible and people say I used to be a bully lol

I am very competitive it's something I can't fight. As for my drive dissolving, yea at tomes it does cuz I'm so far gone into a fantasy but I try real hard to stay grounded.

I love working behind the scenes and I have an undying love for mysterious and subtle things. I guess it works out different for us all

Thanks for all your replies. Another one I have read is about stimulation and having been overstimulated, I do seek entertainment but for instance will get it in indirect ways for instance visiting a friend who lives near a pub with live music on rather than necessarily going direct to the pub. I do go out too but notice that at times seek some quiet.

Yes! Me too! Didn't realize it could be such a 12th house/Mars thing.

Mars does seem to be a little smothered in the 12th. Mars doesn't quite shine to its full glory. On the other hand, so long as it's directed correctly, the 12th house "otherworld" impression can take that Mars energy and really create some internal changes. If that makes sense.

It does, it takes some courage to face some of the fears and insecurities there but with time we conquer it. I think it gives alot of energy we just do kno it's there!! Lol. Saturn is currently transiting there for me, it has opened my house to the 12th house and I'm getting more emotionally aware of myself.

I like to play music that matches my mood lol
