Does anyone have experience or thoughts on Magi's interpretation of squares and oppositions of Saturn and Pluto in synastry? Is it as bad as it sounds?

The Saturn-Pluto Clash "Clash of the Titans"*

Can be a relationship-breaker. Can lead to battles-royal over every disagreement. The couple is likely behave so destructively during arguments that relationship repair and forgiveness can be difficult.

"….Under no circumstances should you proceed with this relationship unless the two of you also have Romantic Super Linkages….." One reason the Saturn-Pluto Clash is such a problem is that it is a highly reliable sign that one or both of the two persons can become belligerent towards the other. The person that is most likely to develop the antagonism is the Saturn Person.

I have a double-whammy of this with my current love interest.

Nope. Does not need to be that bad; actually it is half generational anyway. For it to be really significant it would need to aspect personal planets (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars) or angles, especially ASC.

These two celebrity marriages had that square and apparently they were / are managing quite well

Paul Newmann / Joanne Woodward (opposition)
Tom Hanks / Rita Wilson (DW square)

EDIT:
if you have the DW I would investigate though, which houses are affected, and if there are personal planets aspecting it, and how the aspects between personal aspects are in general.

Though Saturn/Pluto is certainly not a dealbreaker per se, I think it is a configuration that is "serious business", if and only if it is connected to personal planets.

I have read about the conjunction, "you need a cause to sink your teeth in".
It makes a powerful couple that can face any obstacle in this world

Thank you Ceridwen and lunatic!

It's nice to hear that there are other sides to it. The conjunction would probably be nicer than squares and oppositions, it's true.

The opposition is part of a T-square (and it's not the only T-square ) We also have a Sun-Mars conjunction in Aries, and a lot of stressful aspects in Davison, inluding Pluto opp. Mars and Mercury in Aries. Eh. It's like two rams bumping heads.

Fuzzy,

what is the third planet in your T-square?

Sun-Mars-conjunction actually sounds mega sexy to me.

Question is, do these two rams like bumping heads?

Popcorn,
That is soo nice to hear! Congratulations on such a wonderful marriage, that does sound really awesome! And gives me hope, too.

Ceridwen,
The third planet is his Venus.
My Saturn opposes his Pluto and squares his Venus, and he has a Pluto-Venus square natally.

Hehe and you know that side of the Sun-Mars conjunction completely flew out of my head. I guess magi astrology and their clashes make me worry too much about the conflicts.

Fuzzy,

With his Venus involved this might be very significant, I guess karmic.
Has he got Venus in Capricorn?
That would make his Venus Saturnian and voila, your Saturn aspecting it.

Well, I´ve been checking a lot of charts the "Magi-style". But to be honest most of it does not work in that cut and dried way they make it out to be.

Though I agree with them in the significance of multiple-planets-aspects; like in your case of Venus-Saturn-Pluto; that tells more than just a Saturn-Pluto-square on its own.

But Juno is NOT the mistress, and Chiron is NOT a cinderella in the fairy-tale-sense.

Popcorn,

were there personal planets involved in this aspect?
Would you say there was something karmic about your relationship?
Saturn-Pluto actually can have a pretty fated or bonded quality, if integrated in the chart.
It makes me always think of "catalyst" and "kathartic experiences", if you are willing to follow that path, cause with Saturn and Pluto it will not be a superficial one, and probably not always smooth; that doesn`t mean though it makes it impossible to be happy with each other. THAT depends on other aspects, too.

Ceridwen,

His Venus is not in Capricorn, but there probably is a karmic connection, since we have my Karma conjunct his Saturn (0.05 orb), his Karma 0.46 conjunct my N.Node, plus other node conjunctions. I never worried much about karmic connections until I saw those two aspects in our synastry.

And there's that creepy his Nessus conjunct my Sun (0.05 orb) and his Valentine conj my Ascendant (0.11). They probably don't have much to do with karmic connections, but they're so exact, it makes me think they have a special importance.

Ah. That's just really sad now, after I discovered Chiron-Jupiter, Chiron-Juno linkages and a Venus-Chiron double whammy, among other nice things.
You mean there really is no validity to Chiron signifying love?

Fuzzy,

"there probably is a karmic connection, since we have my Karma conjunct his Saturn (0.05 orb), his Karma 0.46 conjunct my N.Node, plus other node conjunctions."
Wow! You have such exact aspects, that alone is very significant!
And yes sounds pretty karmic.

"And there's that creepy his Nessus conjunct my Sun (0.05 orb)"
I think Nessus is worse in squares and opppositions with Venus or Dejanira, but I am not an expert. You gotta ask Ami or IQ about this.

" and his Valentine conj my Ascendant (0.11)."
That sounds very lovely. Like there is quite some romantic love-vibes going on.

"You mean there really is no validity to Chiron signifying love?"
ah, no I didn`t say that. Just that it is not Cinderella-happily-ever-after-without-any-effort- love.

Especially the Venus-Chiron-aspect seems to have a lot to do with love. But as it is with Chiron, it has to do with healing, and first you have to face the place where it really hurts, so much that you will not even want to acknowledge that it exists, and only then the healing process can start.

But of course Jupiter-Chiron or Venus-Chiron are nice aspects, which might ease the process. But it depends on other aspects to Chiron or Venus.

Chiron is the wounded healer, and that of course transports into synastry, and as a matter of fact, squares or oppositions to Chiron can also be quite painful experiences.

For me Chiron signifies a place where we are most vulnerable and perceive ourselves as "defected" in a way, so it takes a lot of trust to let others see that spot in our soul, and of course we are extremely vulnerable and even a thoughtless word might hurt us deeply and drive us into our shell.
On the other hand some loving tender care can make miracles come true in terms of emotional healing and maybe even making us feel more complete (because we finally are able to accept a part of ourselves, that before has seemed unacceptable, but now we are able to reintegrate that part, and thus are more "whole" than before).

This makes sense to me, especially since I know for sure that if this relationship does begin, it will help me take care of some "issues" I have. It seems really beneficial specifically from the "wound healing" point of view. And it seems like he is the kind of person that will benefit from this as well.

It's odd but normally I'm terrified of that, but for some reason I feel like I will be able to accept "hurtful" words from this man since I understand we are different and I really will learn from him. Also maybe because I feel he doesn't really mean it in an offense way. Eh. I don't know.

If there's any reasoning I would have to sign under for Chiron "working" as love in Magi astrology, it would be this one.
