Could anyone inform me how to read the speed on the natal chart?

I see this on cafeastrology.. but not sure how you do it?

The Moon's Speed
The average daily motion of the Moon is 13 degrees and 10 minutes. If the Moon was traveling 13 degrees and 10 minutes or more on the day of birth, the Moon is considered to be a Fast Moon. If it is less than 13 degrees and 10 minutes, it is considered a Slow Moon.

It's relatively easy to find the motion of the Moon on a birth date if you have an ephemeris. Simply take the difference between the longitude of the Moon from midnight to midnight on the day of birth and compare it to the average. A computer printout of a wheel generally shows the Moon's speed (and the speed of other planets) on the day of birth.

Fast Moon & slow Moon? I didn't know about that, is there a difference in their interpretation in a chart?

Im not too sure but after reading this i think it basically means how the slow/fast moon affects ur 'mental chmistry' or how ur thinking processes are affected and react...

The reason im curious is because i want to know what type of 'mental chemistry' i have.. and those of others. This was new to me when i stumbled across it earlier on cafeastrology...

"Mercury's Position Relative to the Sun
Mercury is considered behind the Sun if it is positioned after the Sun in longitude. In other words, if the Sun is at 20 degrees Gemini and Mercury is at 8 degrees Cancer, then Mercury is behind the Sun.

Mercury is ahead of the Sun if it is positioned at a lesser longitude than the Sun. So, for example, if the Sun is at 23 degrees of Taurus, and Mercury is at 20 degrees Taurus, then Mercury is ahead of the Sun.

Four Types:
Two types are Balanced, a third is Anxious, and a fourth is Deliberate. Distinction is made between the two Balanced types of mental chemistry.

Balanced: Mercury behind the Sun and Fast Moon The native has a sharp mind, is observant, and is logical. Observes situations quickly, and then processes this information carefully.

Balanced: Mercury ahead of the Sun and Slow Moon Perception is slow and deliberate, and the mind reacts quickly on these impressions.

Anxious: Mercury ahead of the Sun and Fast Moon The native jumps to conclusions too readily. Very reactive.

Deliberate: Mercury behind the Sun and Slow Moon The native receives and processes information deliberately and slowly."

I read that article too. It is quite fascinating.

This is mine; "Balanced: Mercury behind the Sun and Fast Moon The native has a sharp mind, is observant, and is logical. Observes situations quickly, and then processes this information carefully."

I'd like to say it's accurate

------------------
"Spinning, arms spread.
Crushing the tops of mountains with my hands.
As I dive into the Pacific, I flood the shorelines.
And I exhale, causing the ocean's endless waves.
As I emerge, shaking the wreckage from my hair with my hands.
I want to breathe life into the dead sea.
As this rainforest falls beneath my knees, I want to breathe life into the dead sea."

I'm pretty sure it explains it right there, doesn't it?

When I read the article, basically what it said was a fast moon is 13 degrees or more and having Mercury behind the Sun would mean to have Mercury in an earlier sign or degree tha the Sun.

For example, my Moon is at 29 Aquarius making it a "fast moon" and I have Sun at 28 Virgo, and Mercury at 17 Virgo...thus I have Mercury behind the Sun.

I've had an argument with someobdy about this before and it drove me absolutely insane. I'm pretty sure what I am telling you is how it works. If not... I guess I am an idiot lmao

I got the bit about before merc b4 or after the sun jus didn digest the bit about the moon duh!! I think that makes my mental chemistry the same as urs then.. balanced. Well, there's a shocker haha.

This is about how many degrees the Moon has travelled during the course of the day you were born on.

So - If you go to astro.com - and you create a chart for 12.05 am on the day you were born - that will give you the position of the Moon sign at the beginning of the day.
e.g. Lets say it's 12 degrees Aquarius.

If you then create a chart for 11.55 pm (on the same day) - it will give you the position of the Moon sign at the *end* of that day..
e.g. Lets say it's 22 degrees Aquarius.

22 - 12 = 10, so in my example the Moon would've travelled 10 degrees from morning till night.

end: 6 leo 27' 26"

beg:22 cancer 46' 52"

moon: 13 50' 34" > 13 10'

Balanced: Mercury behind the Sun and Fast Moon The native has a sharp mind, is observant, and is logical. Observes situations quickly, and then processes this information.

If either Mercury, or the Moon is in a Fire Sign: It will be connected with the drive for freedom and self-expression.

Mercury in Fire: You have to think for yourself, and act courageously on your ideas.

The Moon in Fire: Your emotions are direct, spontaneous, and compelling. You will pick excitement over emotional safety.
