Its always been said(other aspects excluded) that the sun-moon connecetion in love/platonic relationship is one of the most potent and "glue-ing" aspects to have.

I seldom agree with theories, unless I can relate on a personal level.

And since I thought the chance of me meeting someone with that kind of connection(idealisticaly with sun-moon connected in both ways)was unlikely, I've always wondered how true it is.

A long time ago, I met someone with whom my moon made a conjunction. But the connection was more antagonistic than anything else; probably because I brought my Mars and Mercury along for the ride, as they form a tight t-square in my natal chart.

Another time, I met someone with whom my moon made an exact opposition to their sun, their sun made an exact opposition to my moon.

Things between he and I have always been hard to grasp; not completely comprehensible, but we were not indifferent to each other either...

Then I met a Libran(moon in Aries/Taurus),Cancerian( moon in Aries/Taurus), Sagittarian(moon in Sag/Cap) and Virgoan(moon in Aries/Taurus) who had their moons trine my Sun(the Sag had his in conjunction to my Sun).

The connection was great.I couldn't believe how good it felt to be around them and before I looked at their charts, I didn't understand.

So, I'd say that the moon-sun connection is real. I 'd even go as far as saying the sextile works out just as well; though it must be noted that it needs a little more effort than the trine and the conjuntion.

But there is still a question that , to me , remains to be seen.

Would I say the sun-moon connection is even greater in its effect than the moon-moon connection?

I like the moon-moon connection, but there is something absolutely wonderful about the sun-moon conncetion(more especially in a very tight orb)

What do you guys think? Is the moon- moon connection in your experience far more satisfying than the sun-moon connection?

Or is the sun-moon connection deeper and a lot more fun?

I think it depends on your individual chart.

For me, I have not had much success with people whose moon trines my sun because ... I have sun in Gem and Moon in Scorp natally and if someone has their moon trine my sun this will mean either their moon is in Aquarius or Libra. If it is in Aquarius, this means that their moon will then square my moon and my Scorp moon HATES been squared because it is so sensitive. If their moon is in Libra it does nothing for my Scorp moon and my moon does not like being ignored. So for me Moon Moon connections are much more important than my Sun trining their Moon.

Conversely if their Sun trines my Scorp moon this means that their Sun will be in Pisces or Cancer. If their sun is in Cancer, then my sun feels ignored, so this does not work for me. If their Sun is in Pisces, I fare much better as my Scorp moon is happy, and at least my Sun gets some attention even if it is a square and my Gem sun gets a bit of a challenge, although this can wear me down in the long run. Geez I can't win.

I really have to agree with you here.

I had a very close friend whos moon conjuncted mines with whom I had a wonderful relationship.Somebody of the opposite sex as well whos moon conjuncted mines. Moon conjunctions to me feel like my "emotional siblings." We understand each others emotions but in exactly the same way and there is always the need to go beyond that. For me it is a verrry comfortable space and both of you will just choose to stay in that kukoon together. Trines and sextiles also feel similar, they are great support but i feel the need to explore and go beyond some how.

Now getting into Sun-Moon connections, which is something i have noticed ever since i can remember to instantly give me the "you are exactly what i need" feel.

An example of this is when I was 14, my family and went to attend a wedding of a cousin who i was meeting for the first time. I was kind of very rebellious in those days and so wasnt really open much to anyone. To my surprise and my parents, when we got there me and my cousin got on right away and formed such a close bond. He was just so much fun to be around and felt like he understood me in every way possible. We were nearly teary eyed when I was leaving. Till this day, I value his opinion over anybodys and he cares for me like no other cousin would, he says i'm the little sister he never had. Last year, i decided to pull up his chart and noticed his Sun was exactly conjunct my Moon to the exact degree and my Sun was sextile his Moon.

Now the Trine. I personally find the Sun-Moon trine to be the BEST flow of energy/aspect ever between two people. This feels like unconditional love, support, "reaching for the stars".You just feel so good around thse people. Like the person is saying to you "Dont, worry i got your back, no matter what you do or what you desire, I will understand it,support it and give it to you without you even having to say.".It's like both people take their energies put them together and come out as a expansive whole together. You can understand needs just through eye contact. It is a extremely uplifting feeling in which each person brings to the table what the other needs. This energy is "expanding and soaring further" together. Sextiles are similar. I always feel very open-minded and supportive of people who i have a Sun-Moon connection with.

Now, if you think bout it the Sun represents your main masculine energy and Moon your main feminine. So, with this said if someones's masculine energy merges with or supports your feminine energy or vice versa theres no reason why this person wouldnt meet your "ideal energy" criteria.

In a Sun-Moon connection, one person's outer masculine energy will understand the other's inner feminine energy and vice versa. That to me, seems like a an ideal understanding and partnership.

Yeah,thats exactly what I meant.

Taineberry:

I agree with your point of view. And you are right, it does depend on the individual chart concerned.

I actually have met someone with whom I had a Sun(mine in Sag)-square -Sun(theirs in Pisces) with and moon(mine in Cancer) trine
their sun(In Pisces). i don't know why I didn't think of that relatiosnhip when I opened this topic.

Interestingly, his moon(Leo) also formed a trine aspect with my Sun(Sag). But we often fought and disagreed because I found his opinions too rigid.

I think I lost a bit of my skeptical attitude towards 'unconditional love' after experiencing an exact Sun/Moon trine (me Moon) recently.
Thought I (Scorp-Moon) would never forgive him (Pisces-Sun) for breaking up with me at a certain difficult stage in my life, but strangely enough it seems I already have... there are moments now that I love to talk to him again, not because I heavily miss him, for wanting him back or testing if he still misses me.. but just because he sounds so familiar to me and that's the same with him. Motherly feelings towards him are also clearly increasing.. I have a leo-sun in the 12th.

I know what you mean....

I can't exactly say that I have "motherly" feelings towards my moon connection (its probably from the other perosn).

I used to get so annoyed when the Cancer Sun Aries/Taurus Moon friend used to fuss over me. It made me seem like he was saying I was weak and incapable of taking care of myself.

I used to tell him that I was managing just fine without him all along and because I have two parents, I don't need another one.

But now I think I get it, he couldn't help it. I think the effect that it had on him was to bring out those qualities(which annoyed him too i think because he was into the whole macho bull **t)

Now the Sagittarian Sun/Sagittarian moon combo dude has my back, in all respects.During the short period of time that we met and I befriended him, he and I drew close. He liked to keep me "in check" (which I didn't mind),even though he was years younger than I.

This dude also had his Saturn forming a conjunction with his sun and mine. So I think he liked to act older than his years and may have found me a little childish(but not too much of a fuss).

My Neptune also formed a conjunction with both his Sun and moon. So, I think he kind of "fed off" the whole Neptune thing with me by acting silly at times whilst I "fed off" the Saturn effect by being rebellious and bratty.
