New to this part of astrology, so I'm not sure. Maybe one of you can help me out with this? Someone was talking about dignities and all of that to me, but it just got me confused. If anyone could just tell me what my lord of geniture was, I would really appreciate it, as it's really too complicated for me to do by myself right now.

Here's my chart:

I have never heard of that before... I've been studying astrology since 07..

You have dignified Sun in Leo in the 10th house. Mars in Aries is dignified and also Pluto in Scorpio.

The Lord of Geniture is what they study in traditional astrology. It is considered the most powerful planet in the chart, while modern astrologers focuses on the ascendant ruler. Also, they don't count Pluto because it's an outer planet and too impersonal to rule the personality.

You can see now why I'm curious as to finding it now. I have Mercury in Virgo, Mars in Aries, and Sun in Leo and all of them are in essential dignity.

But I really wish someone who was well versed in this to just please tell me what it was.

You just said it yourself. It's your Sun in Leo.

AND fyi, you have Pluto in the first house! I'd say that matters!!

Again, Pluto is usually excluded in factoring the Lord of Geniture.

I'm confused as to how you got that it's Sun in Leo when I have said I had 3 positions with essential dignity. Mercury and the Sun are also in the same house.

Hopefully I don't reach a frustration point. Can someone who is really well versed in this please help a lady out?

Because 10th house is a cardinal house. Mercury isn't at home in the 10th house. Mars is fine in fifth but not Sun or Moon.

I'm betting 100 percent its your sun sign..I wasn't saying Pluto is it, but it still factors in heavily.

Well versed? The only thing someone needs to be well versed in is themselves. Obviously you know what it is.. but are just seeking further approval or attention.

And for something to be so strong, it must be your Sun or Moon that has the dignity. Or ruler of your ASC. In Which case it would be Mars in Aries in the 5th house.

Kinda funny, but your Pluto in Scorpio in it's own house is the only one that is extremely dignified. Sun in Leo in 10th house... is as well actually. It's in it's own house the Sun rules the 10th house. SO it's your SUN.

Yeah, I'm not understanding why your post has a condescending and bitchy tone to it, so you need to ease up on that and check yourself, dear. I'm only going by what you said, so there's no need to feel defensive. You never even heard of this before and were already making mistakes about Pluto being included in factoring in what makes the lord of geniture. Therefore, I wanted a traditional astrology who had experience in it; nothing to do with attention. You're not really helping me with anything, I was just being too polite to you before to say so.

Also, dignities means more than just houses. So whatever, I'm about to get frustrated because you can't help me and aren't making sense, and I can't find anyone who knows deeply about modern astrology to answer.

I guess it's just Mercury, since it has aspects to my ascendant and is in the most elevated house in the chart.

And please don't respond to my thread if you're going to continue to be hostile for unnecessary reason. Good-bye.

It's not Mercury!

It has to be in it's own house!

For example, I have Mercury in Gemini in the 9th house and Gemini is the sign on my 9th house cusp. That is my power planet.

Virgo isn't on your 10th house cusp.

It's you Sun; case closed.

Dear, I already said you were not helping me and you were rude enough to me already, so this will be the last reply I have to you.

Mercury does not need to be in its own house to be elevated when figuring out the geniture. The 10th house is considered the most elevated house, along with the first house. It wouldn't matter if it was in its own house or not.

Again, I'm going to say it politely, since I don't like treating adults like children. Since you are not helping and you don't know anything about it, please refrain from responding. Thank you and good-bye.

I don't see how Mercury is it even by the info you give. Mercury doesn't rule the 10th house nor is Mercury in Virgo as strong as Sun in Leo. Once someone else confirms its your Sun.. you will see.

There is a quote that says wise men never speak unless they are sure of the subject they are speaking on. For the last time, don't respond because you aren't helpful and you don't even know the rules of the lord of geniture (which is comical because you think you can give advice on it), and you've basically messed up my thread.

Can anyone else besides the ever-irritating athene goddess give me advice, please?

Based on your behavior in here, trust me, I know all I have to know about you. I'd say that since you came in here to talk like you knew something when you never heard it before, are extremely condescending, and can't take a hint, I'd say the only one who seeks attention is you. And you also have a hard time of following directions when I told you that your "help" wasn't welcome, certainly not by me.

Adios.

Astro does it for you if you go to special charts and then Chart Deliniation in the drop down box.

I would say Sun.

Thank you . I appreciate you not being condescending and rude like she was.

Whoever is mod, can you delete this, please? I'll find it on astro.com.

I don't do traditional astrology but you might want to try this site - it has a forum and you might get your answer from them. It focuses very much on traditional methods.
http://www.skyscript.co.uk/

They don't usually delete threads here. They can be moved to another part of the forum if it's more relevant to a different subject but I can't see that happening in this instance.
