I find wetern astrology does not emphasize ASC signs enough. It is a more detailed and exact science if you ask me, you should look into it further

violet7887,

It's a great description of Sadge rising! Much of it does apply to me, but I'm not as outgoing as a Sadge Sun or Merc might be (as Ceri pointed out). For me, it's most likely tempered by the heavy Capricorn influence in my chart (Sun, Moon, Merc, Mars), plus lately I find my highly-connected Piscean Venus acting out more due to deepening ties in my relationship. My Cappy Merc renders me less outspoken than that Sadge Asc description would have you believe. My only Sadge planet is Neptune, which isn't saying much since it is a generational thing.

Ceri, I didn't realize you had such strong Cappy signature in your chart, with a prominent Saturn & Cappy Venus squaring a prominent Pluto. Oh gosh, I didn't realize you have Neptune on Asc as well, but it makes sense - our Asc's are conjunct, and we're close in age so our Neptunes may be fairly close as well. I'll have to chat with you about that in another thread or offline sometime!

So, why the interest in Sag Asc if you're a Libra rising, violet7887? Is it because of your sister, or do you perhaps have a Sadge Sun?

Ceri's a girl, by the way.

Sunshine,

I would love to talk to you about that.

Yeah, I was not even aware of my strong Saturn-imprint myself, though it makes sense.
It almost seems as if all the transpersonals including Saturn and Jupiter are having a meeting on my personal planets / angles. lol

In which sign is your Saturn? (I could look it up of course, but I am lazy).
I ntoiced that with Jupiter, being dispositor of all my Sag-planets, in Pisces, it is very prominent in my personality, though of course I have Neptune conjunct ASC as well.

Isn`t it funny how my overall personality is drenched in Jupiter and Neptune, but my emotional planets (Moon and Venus,e ven 8th house) are tied so tightly with uranus, Saturn and Pluto?

Violet,

I also have a huge Stellium in Sagittarius in 1st house.
But I think my somber Venus and Saturn may be responsible for me not being your typical outgoing Sag. (though sometimes it breaks through)

Also Neptune on ASC maybe takes a bit away from the "Here I am"-personal approach.

I love Sags though. I have come across some men who have much Sag influence, actors mostly, but some colleagues as well, and I really admire them for their outgoing positive nature. Whenever I am near to them (the colleagues more than the actors except for one that I really met. lol), I feel like I am "my better Self". They somehow make me feel more Sag-like. And I really like that!

Ceri,

I found your chart in another thread here, and drew up your natal as well as our synastry. I see the similarities, and also why I get this warm, friendly vibe from you.. Your Venus sits on my Cappy Moon/Mercury/Mars, and they all square our Plutos.. intense.

My Saturn, dispositor of all my Cappy planets, sits in mid-Leo. I have very little Fire or Air in my chart - it's mostly Earth & Water, but for the Leonine Saturn, Sadge Neptune, and Libran Pluto. Our charts have a very similar shape, just shifted over one sign for the stellium and Saturn.. neat!!

I find your last comment telling - you are a natural-born optimist with a light-hearted personality, but when it comes to emotional matters and romance, you tend to be more cautious & reserved like a Capricorn. Though, your Aquarian Moon must be what makes you so progressive in your outlook.. and perhaps responsible for bringing in that detached tone to posts where you dissect yourself. The MOon & Venus connections to Pluto must explain the intense attachments you form when you do like someone.. it couldn't just be casual for you. Yet your Sun/Merc seek independence.. you'd rather not be tied down despite wanting that intensity in relationships. Sound right?

Most of this is generally true for me. Except for the part about exercise, but that could have something to do with Sagittarius in mars though.

I mean spiritually being a Sag. ASC. I am constantly seeking out wisdom. And I can relate to that. In fact I think my spiritual views are very Sag. But as far as personality goes, I always come across as "the nice girl," is that a Sag. ASC. thing?

Hi Violet,

This link has the best sag rising description I have come across so far, it describes me well: http://www.0800-horoscope.com/risingsigns/

Keywords: Quick witted, Humorous, Theatrical, Oratorical, Active, Needs freedom

A Sagittarius Ascendant indicates individuals with a certain type of flexible personality that works well for them. Because of their need for independence and freedom, they are apt to constantly put themselves in changing circumstances and different environments. Such changes would, in turn, require a certain amount of adaptability. Many of these individuals put marriage off until later in life or skip it altogether unless they find understanding partners who do not attempt to be possessive or confine them. Once such an acceptable marriage arrangement is made however, they adapt and are stable, loyal spouses.

They are full of energetic enthusiasm. However, their enthusiasm is not necessarily always accompanied by unflagging physical energy. They may, in fact, tend to be lazy unless highly motivated to perform. It is often difficult to engage in boring routine exercise and in spite of their innate restlessness and propensity for rushing around in a myriad of activities, they are quite capable of being unwilling (or unable) to keep themselves trim and in good physical shape. Though often rash and hasty their passions are sincere and inspirational.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, planet of inspiration, wisdom, good fortune, and abundance. These individuals are apt to be spiritually or philosophically oriented, talkative, intellectually curious, and, at times, perhaps a bit too impressed with status and wealth. Their natural exuberance and generosity are responsible for unrestrained abundance. Like those with Gemini Ascendants, they are apt to demonstrate any one of a wide range of orientations and abilities, from being great teachers, writers, scholars or researchers all the way down to those who engage in the flimflam of con artists and the intellectual emptiness of merely copying the originality and talent of others.

They are apt to be very honest, though it is also true that their too-candid remarks can sometimes be misinterpreted as rudeness. The negative influences associated with Sagittarius Ascendant indicate the possibility of those afflicted with a tendency for self-indulgence which makes them pompous, grossly overweight, dependent on drugs or alcohol, or too opinionated and cynical. On the positive side, Sagittarius indicates love of drama and the theater, good food and drink, dancing, sports, animals, and, as a rule, they never miss an opportunity to travel. They are likely to be involved with publishing, education, religion, art, or music, either as a profession or hobby.

***However, I am not pompous, opinionated, cynical or impressed by status and have been skinny my whole life. I also do not have an addictive personality. In addition I like to go hiking and been outdoors from time to time and I always figured that it was bc of my love for nature because of my sag rising.

And while we are on the subject of Ceridwen’s chart….

Ceri, I saw your chart on a thread about traveling some time ago and I couldn’t help but notice that your Venus closely is conjunct Sun at 5 degrees of Capricorn, and that your Sun/Mercury in Sag is closely conjunct my Asc at 25 Sag…. My Moon is in Cancer in the 8th house.

I’m another one of those quiet Sag Asc people, but I do tend to be enthusiastic and idealistic like a Sag, I prefer to take a positive outlook, and tend to be a real ‘thinker’ type…. Sometimes I say or do unexpected things at just the right (wrong) moment and kind of accidentally make people laugh…. I’m funnier when I’m just being myself, and then when I’m trying to be… it just happens naturally… like Oops!

Sunshine,

"see the similarities, and also why I get this warm, friendly vibe from you.. Your Venus sits on my Cappy Moon/Mercury/Mars, and they all square our Plutos.. intense. "
I feel that familiarity with you as well. Interestingly your birthday is very close to that of my middle brother (15th january 1977).

"e a very similar shape, just shifted over one sign for the stellium and Saturn.. neat!!"
This should give some common ground to feel comfortable with each other, yet being different enough to be able to learn from each other. I think that fits. What do you think?

"you are a natural-born optimist with a light-hearted personality, but when it comes to emotional matters and romance, you tend to be more cautious & reserved like a Capricorn."
Yeah, well, sometimes I am optimistic, but not as much as your usual Sag. I do insist on believing in the good of people though. Maybe that is a bit optimistic.

but you are right, romance and love is a complicated issue for me. Much more than all that Sag energy would make one think.

"Sound right
"
Yes, absolute perfect description of me.

Lotis White,

you seem (or sound?) familiar. Did you once have a different username?

" I saw your chart on a thread about traveling some time ago and I couldn’t help but notice that your Venus closely is conjunct Sun at 5 degrees of Capricorn, and that your Sun/Mercury in Sag is closely conjunct my Asc at 25 Sag…"
Wow, that is some close ties there!
How are you experiencing the Pluto-transit so far?

" I do tend to be enthusiastic and idealistic like a Sag, I prefer to take a positive outlook, and tend to be a real ‘thinker’ type…."
Yes, I am always saying to myself there are three genders of astrological signs, and these are feminine (receptive), masculine(expressive) and mental/thinker (processing).
Sag even though technically a masculine sign, very much has that thinking / philosophical trait I think.

" Sometimes I say or do unexpected things at just the right (wrong) moment and kind of accidentally make people laugh…."
Oh yes, I know. And often people stare at me with that: "I cannot believe YOU said that. You always seem so nice and proper and serious." lol

my ex is libra rising and i am sag rising and we get along great. i am thinking that sag rising has libra in the 11th house and we like people that encompass libra qualities in turn maybe libra rising finds refreshing sag's honesty and genuineness.

Ceri,

Finally got back to this thread. Actually, yeah, a couple of years ago I was… er.. Someone else so to speak, but then I lost my old computer with all my info… so here I am now…

“How are you experiencing the Pluto-transit so far?”

Pluto has not been kind to me. First it went over my Venus at 29 Sag, and then over my Sun at 5 Cap… before it happened I was actually somewhat positive about the Venus aspect, thinking maybe I’d fall in love or something… I didn’t… but instead found myself the subject of two unrequited crushes, one literally happening like right after the other one. One starting with the Venus transit and one with the Sun transit. It was crazy strange. These were not healthy crushes either, but ones where I had to deal with some pretty spiteful and inappropriate behavior. And it put me through a lot of uncomfortable situations. Not that everyone’s Pluto transits are gonna be like this… I guess some do get a romance that is life-altering in a positive way… but with Pluto it seems there is always a danger of obsession or resentment of some kind. I actually went into more detail about this in a thread from a while back so if you searched my user name I’m sure you’d find it. Anyway, for my part I can’t wait for this Pluto transit to be over and done with. Out of curiosity how has your Pluto transit been? I’m sure not everyone’s Pluto/Venus is gonna be like mine so it would be interesting to know about someone else’s experience.

Lotis White,

I remember your brilliant essay about unrequited love and the emphasis you put on the houses.
Actually this was the last drop that made me decide to rejoin LL again.

I can imagine that Tr Pluto could do something like you described to a Venus. Very in tune with its symbolism.
What house is Venus in for you, and which does it ru le?

For me there are several possibilities, first of all Venus is located in the 1st house (though ASC is in Sag), and it rules 5th, 6th and 10th house. lol

So far I have not yet had unwelcome attention. But I have had more than attention than I am used to it, and it makes me feel intrigued and uncomfortable at the same time, cause I do not really know how to interprete it or how to deal with it. I`s one of my current lessons I guess.
Opening up. Getting back in the game (I definitely thought I already was out of it forever. lol). Work on my intimacy issues, and well, just letting the guard come down sometime.

I do like Pluto transits though. Not the ones ovver my ASC and Mars if I remember it right, but Tr Pluto over Sun and Mercury, even Tr Pluto square Moon was exhausting but very precious. loved the intensity of it.

BTW we have a Sun-Venus-DW.
Your Sun conjuncts my Venus on 6 Cap. Your Venus conjuncts my Sun on 26 Sag. lol
