-Moon/Neptune Aspects

-Lots of Water traits(Especially pisces)

-Neptune in 7th or 11th

-Maybe moon/ascendant aspects(conjunction maybe?)

-Also heavy and strong Pluto and MARS/Saturn avoids empathy so it must be lack of it.

I'm very very empathetic. In fact that's one of the things every psychic always picks up on me. Like I can pretty much sense people's emotions and need my alone time (to charge my batteries) cos I get drained of energy when around alot of ppl for a long period of time. I only have a water jupiter and pluto.

Moon square neptune
Sun trine neptune (1 degree)
Moon square chiron (3ish degrees)
Moon conjunct venus (2 degree)
I have north node in my 12th house?

I dunno, might be more aspects. Those are the ones I can think of.

I had an ex with heavy water. And he WAS NOT empathetic at all!

I have Neptune in the 11th aspecting my sun (trine), moon (sextile) and venus (square), Mars in Cancer and I'm pretty empathetic.

At the same time - there's some truth to what Mert Serimer said about Pluto and Mars/Saturn. I have those too and, if I'm pushed to that point, I can be the exact OPPOSITE.

Hmm...

I've known people with a lot of water who aren't terribly empathic (and are, in fact, downright cruel to others). And on the flipside of that, I've known a lot of people without water who are still very empathic. I think everyone says 'water' as the default generalization.

I would say Moon aspects though would definitely figure in. I'm not as sure about Neptune. Haven't looked that closely at it.

That's interesting that you say Neptune Ceridwen. I have Neptune in Capricorn (house 8).

I can have empathy for people's baggage, tramma, and drama.

Because those things either make or break people...baggage, trama, and drama can be a blockage to people's goals, dreams, well being and sanity.

I've had plenty(well depends who you compare me to) of things make and break me...and sometimes people need to break down...expirence the worst...and then realize...the worst is over, I can be stonger and move on now.

Call me a Scrooge, gut I do get annoyed the way some people act down their luck...Like when people ask strangers to give them money on the street.(that is not the way I want to help people...need I say more?) Or when people always ask for money from people they know...(It makes me want to say...are you even trying!?)

I only want to help out people if I know that they are doing the best they can.

One time a friend of mine was sooo stressed about her bills...back when we worked together, and since we are part time we don't get paid for breaks...so that threw her off her money groove. So since I gave her a ride home...I have her some cans in my trunk, that she could take back so she could have like bus money.

And the kids at latchkey when they do fund raisers...I always buy something from one of the kids...Because I was in their shoes once...and I know how exiting fundraisers are...and want to help them reach their goal of getting the prize they want...or trip they want to go on.

I'm sure I'm not the most empathetic person there is, but I have a heart.

I thought Neptune was an obvious one.

Anyway, regarding the water-discussion.
Water is very sensitive, though sometimes this sensitivity can "switch" and be focused on oneself rather than the world around. Those might be the people who are ultrasensitive when it comes to themselves, but not so much when it comes to others.

Actually I think empathy also demands the ability to take a step back, be detached from oneself, to be able to focus on the other.
If I am busy all the time licking my wounds or going into MY feelings, this will make it harder to be emathic to others.

On the other hand, if I am sensitive inside and at the same time able to not jsut circle around my own feelings but acknowledge other`s as well, this might lead to empathy, because I am able to revoke the feelings I felt myself and recognize them in someone else.

In a way the borders between people dissolve a bit: I feel the other`s pain/ joy whatever as if it was mine (because of the capacity to see myself and the other simultaneously), and that is why I was referring to Neptune, as he tends to dissolve any kind of barriers between souls.

i would say water -cancer and pisces
scorpio can be compassionate but does not possess empathy in my experience with numerous ones. also pisces needs to be in their positive vibration to bring out its best as does neptune, otherwise you could get the other side which is deceptive, illusory etc. Also there is compassion which is close to empathy and which other signs possess eg mercury in leo is said to be compassionate.

progressions also count one ex was nearly all water but by progression was mostly fire with only a little water so the lack of other elements played a part in the lack of empathy. For me a well rounded person has a balance of elements.

i'd say this is true for me. i'm water dominant but not cancer/ pisces. mine are all scorpio. i'm on the icy side of things.

I agree with Moon and Neptune. Perhaps Chiron contacts with these two should also be considered include the understanding and sensitivity which accompanies empathy?

I would agree with that Taineberry. I think Chiron contacts help because generally they emphasize an area that you yourself have been wounded in, so you seek out that wound in others. It can make you more empathic for sure.

Empathy is my middle name. LOL No, really!
I agree with the Neptune theory especially a well aspected Neptune. Mine is 10th house conj MC opp Venus and Moon. I also have a Pisces NN opposite my supercritical Virgo Pluto+SN, so although criticism comes easy to me when it comes to rationalizations, I'm empathic to the point of fault (i.e. at my expense as I "forget" about me and my own boundaries) when it comes to others. Also I found that I have a soft spot for the downtrodden (anything from people to animals to anyone/anything who/that suffers) due to my Jup in Libra seeking fairness and wanting to rally for them.
My empathy makes people take me for granted and I always feel neglected by others because not many can offer me the empathy I offer (with no effort at all).
My Nept is in Scorpio too and I have a full 8th house...

I'm empathetic to a high degree. I channel it into my creative writing, otherwise I would be a mess.

I have moon in Pisces in the 12th house.
Neptune in Scorpio in the 7th house.
They trine.

Other neptune aspects
square mars. sextile uranus, midheaven and pluto

Moon aspects
oppose mercury, venus, uranus and pluto

Prob anything that would allow you to tune in to the reality of others, put yourself in their shoes. Maybe even the same as factors that point to psychic abilities.
But then there are diff definitions. Virgo can be empathic too, so can Aquarius. Saturn or Chiron in Pisces can feel others suffering as almost too close for comfort. And Scorpio can definitely be able to tune into others and help them through their experience.

I'm Virgo with Pisces moon and i definitely feel more empathetic now that i'm older than i was when I was young.

I think when I was young I cared about poverty, starvation, the homeless, animal cruelty, and still do, but I wasn't really in touch with my "Pisces" side til I'd lived a bit and been through a lot of pain etc. Nowadays I feel more like a Pisces inside than a Virgo as I feel more empathetic and sensitive towards feelings too, not just causes or obvious sufferings. I think it's because of what I've been through so it makes me not want to see others suffer the same thoughts and emotions I had.

Does this make sense to anyone?
