I've heard that Venus conjunct Mars in synastry is a strong indication of attraction/desire. But who do you think feels it more, the Venus person, or Mars person?Has anyone had this aspect before with someone?

I'd say the Mars person because it's the more outgoing energy. But you also need to consider the aspects that each makes with other natal planets. For instance, if the Venus person's Saturn is conjuncting the other person's Mars, it may put a damper on the attraction.....or delay it. Or if the Venus is squaring natal Chiron, then the Mars' drive may be offensive.Nope, I've never had this with anyone. Would very much like to experience it. I've seen the sparks between people who do have it! IP: Logged |

LOL Oh God! This has come up so many times. Mars wants Venus badly.. and very physically. Venus is more 'in love' in a sweet lovey dovey way... In the beginning stages it's quite sweet and it's a boost to both of the people's egos.. but in time it just winds up in a lot of bickering over how Venus is too much of a princess and Mars is too much of a beast. If Venus does not get what he/she wants (which usually involves candlelit dinners, romance, pretty gifts or at least nice/proper social behaviour when out in public with Mars)... he/she will poke sticks at Mars and refuse to have any form of physical contact.. It's a constant blackmail.. for Venus to shape Mars into what they want Mars to be. Mars on the other hand gets angry REALY easily... and the things Venus cares about seem superficial and stupid... So he/she is likely to behave like a bull in a china shop. These things are relatively minor.. although they do lead to constant/daily arguments (a year or two into the relationship). But other than the 'classic' little arguments... ****Huge Warning Sign!!!**** If your conjunction is in a negative aspect to either Saturn or Pluto (mainly if it's the guy's Saturn or Pluto) - this can turn very very ugly... VERY ugly. The minor arguments above will blow up into a huge mess.. that resembles Mr&MrsSmith and War of the Roses... where you will actively try to kill each other lol ****End of Warning Sign**** IP: Logged |

Both. If the other is your type you can have something special. If not their presence will make you uneasy; ugh, you don't like the way they look at you. And, ugh, you're so not into them, why are they lowering their voice. Your body keeps opening towards them and it makes you feel icky. You so don't wanna think about "that" because it's so not gonna happen. IP: Logged |

Ohhhhhh ..... That's what I had with my first love and bf of 3 years and another 2 on and off. His Mars was conj my Venus and opposite both of our Plutos. It's really horrible.. and if I could do it over again.. I would walk ten miles in the opposite direction to him. I have stopped talking to him completely but when I see him - rarely - there is still so much animosity between us. It's a nasty aspect.. It doesn't end well in my experience.. Those movies were not the best examples because I think they end well. This is just perpetually horrible. IP: Logged |

This is true about the Venus and Mars...I have that conjunction but in my case Im the Mars...and my own Venus in Pisces gives me the Energy to dote on him just as he needs, and his Sun in Pisces understands and responds to the way I show my love.We are nearing the two year mark, and for sure I can see though how it could be nasty, as there have been moments where we both were aware that our emotions were getting the best of us but clear and transparent communication has saw us through...we both are conscious to not say anything we regret, we are very aware of the passion that the Mars and Venus brings, its like fire between us especially being in Aries and for me it is in my 8th house and for him it is in his 2nd... it opposes my Pluto...which is in opposition to his Venus....the first cut is deepest in our case...I just hope he never decides to twist the knife...you know? I have experienced this aspect a few times. It has never been favorable. It's always uncomfortable and awkward. It's not attraction so much as an awkward energy. I would think a Mars/Venus conjunction would only emphasis already good synastry, and not be the sole source of attraction itself.IP: Logged |

Venus conjunct Mars can be incredibly powerful and harmonious. It's definitely an intense union. I had this aspect with one of two of the most significant relationships in my past. My Venus in Leo conjunct his Mars in Leo. All the Drama and Passion. The Queen and King. The passion was incredibly intense, almost overwhelming, maybe because our conjunction was heated by fire signs. We had other very significant aspects as well though. Synastry Aspects: His Moon/Leo Trine My Mars/Aries My Moon/Aries Trine His Mars/Leo His Sun/Leo Sextile My Sun/Libra His Moon/Leo Trine my Moon/Aries. His Jupiter/Aries conjunct my Moon/Mars in Aries. My Jupiter/Gemini Sextile his Sun/Moon/Mars in Leo. His Sun/Leo Trine My Moon/Aries. My Sun/Libra Sextile his Moon/Leo His Mars/Leo Trine My Mars/Aries (In our Composite Chart we had an 8th House Venus, talk about intensity, it was a very overwhelming relationship). In theory with all of these very harmonious aspects its hard to tell whether it was the impact of our Venus conjunction Mars in Leo or if other things played into why we were completely infatuated with each other. I actually wasn't interested in him the first time I meet him but we became friends and the rest is history. He pursued me in Leonine fashion. His passion won me over. Though for a while I was pretty oblivious to his advances (typical Libra stuck in the clouds). We evolved through the relationship and past it and have gone on our individual paths but I'll never forget that connection. Venus conjunct Mars is powerful. IP: Logged |

I think it was the other things! lol Venus/Mars def. works better - if the people have.. positive Sun/Moon/AC aspects.. and some Saturn aspects for staying power. IP: Logged |

I actually agree with you. I barely noticed our Venus/Mars conjunction when I first studied our Synastry charts because all the other aspects were so harmonious. But even our relationship ended with us going on in different directions, it seems to me that it takes a lot more than harmony to make something honest last. We had very strong Saturn aspects as well which actually just made it harder to walk away when it was finally time because Saturn restricts and structures and it's hard to walk away from something that had become so solid. Yea I've had the conj it's no big whoop for me. I like the squares more, and also the trines cos they just feel natural, but not the oppositions or the sextiles.IP: Logged |

I think it's both but I will agree with the poster above who said that they will each express the attraction differently. My Mars (I'm a woman) was in very close conjunction to this guys's Venus. It was love at first sight; once we looked at each other we knew something is magical there... BUT he expressed his Venus and played a more passive role than I would have liked (I have a Venus in Scorpio so I like my men energetic and after me!) and I on the other hand expressed my Mars by wanting to do things with him but due to my natal square I was blocked too. Long story short, nothing came of that! The intensity of the emotions and of the attraction was undoubtedly mutual and passionate from both of us. But it didn't progress to anything much for various astro and other reasons. IP: Logged |

My Venus in scorpio conjucts my partners Mars in scorpio. It was quite harmonious and lovey dovey, though for about 2 years now,he has been more aggressive with his love and needy than ever before.I have tried to shape him lol,and now i have created a monster i think.Someone that wants me too much, too badly. Its flattering but scary.I feel like if i wanted to,i could manipulate him more than i wish i could.Having this aspect with someone I do not love, would be very unpleasant i can imagine. I think there needs to be something to balance out the Venus conjunct Mars aspect like perhaps having conjunctions that go both ways. Because I think without a balancing factor overtime it does seem to feel like a Cat and Mouse situation which can be tiring for the Cat and overwhelming for the Mouse. It's probably the reason why it never works out, that and house positions and other aspects.IP: Logged |

Hey Anongrl.. this Venus/Mars conjunction in Leo or Aqua? (square your Scorp-Venus is what I read). If in Aqua then I had the same; close conjunction with me being Mars (square my Scorp-Moon where it's your Venus)IP: Logged |

Yup, Aqua. My Venus is in Scorpio, my Mars is in Aqua (his Venus was in Aqua). My Moon is in Taurus squaring my Mars and opposing my Venus. quote: Originally posted by mir: Hey Anongrl.. this Venus/Mars conjunction in Leo or Aqua? (square your Scorp-Venus is what I read).
